nothing at d1-2 with key on or off? did it have the jumper? if still nothing with key on or jumper check for power at the ignition control module, c2 yellow wire
Bought a box with tools from someone retiring, probably doesn't know what it does it he's young. Or using an older techs tools till he can get his own as he says it's in the tech box that was off that day

Check the fan clutch, coolant level, was it actually overheating, possible bad sending unit, bad thermostat, is it open or closed cooling system? Stock 1988 swb 4.0 ax15 np 231.
