Changing the tail light bulbs

What bulbs are you going with? -
Genssi 80W CREE LED White 1156 Reverse Lights
Zambeezy replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Has anyone had problems installing these bulbs in the factory housings? I got the drivers' side bulb with a little doin' but the passenger side will not install. The lugs don't seem to go deep enough in the socket for me to be able to twist and lock the bulb in place. The housing actually separated from the bulb on the LED while trying to twist it, that's how screwed up something is. The bulb that was installed was re-installed with little to no effort, so it's something with the LED housing. -

Stronger than the Links? They're stronger than the stock channel arms. Not stronger than probably any of the aftermarket ones. Are there any other decent aftermarket arms? Rubicon Express makes a good product. Link

What Brand starter should I buy???

I'm partial to Bosch for many parts but i haven't had to replace mine yet so I can't speak to those specific ones. -
4.0 Backfiring, stuttering, and misfiring

Awesome, I went ahead and bought them. -
Since he's just going 3", can't he use the J-Link control arms? Yes he should be able to use them without any issues, there's tons of great options out there, I would have personally gone the WJ arm route though. Any reason (other than price) to go WJ? I'm trying to learn about lift kits and what's all required

What's a decent price for a set? I'm seeing them for $75 shipped, used in average condition -

If I wanted to inspect my vacuum lines and make sure they're plugged where they should, is there some kind of guide or diagram I can follow? I don't know how I would know what's right and what's wrong since I've never done it before -

Cranks fine but hesitant to start
Zambeezy replied to Zambeezy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Looking at this distributor cap but can't find an Accel rotor that says it's compatible with a 1992 Comanche 6 cyl. Any help on the part number? Also read really good things about the Taylor ThunderVolt 8.2mm spark plug wires. 40 ohms/foot seems to be pretty good for what I've been seeing listed for the competition. Thoughts? -

Great minds! Have any personal recommendations for replacing those items on my MJ? I'm a buy-once-cry-once kinda guy -

I have not but I had been compiling a to-do list of things to look into, and these things are now on it! -

Thanks for the tip. I'll take a look this week and see what it's showing. Guess it wouldn't hurt to test the fuel pressure as well to see how the fuel pump is doing. What injectors did you put in yours? -
Looks great, welcome to the club! I have a bench in my '92 and it's far from comfortable but I think with some re-padding it could be decent. Has headrests and like others have said I'm surprised the earlier models didn't have them but I'm glad mine does. I just picked mine up about 2 months ago and this is my first vehicle to really wrench on but I'm learning a lot from these guys here. This forum has been SO valuable for the few things I've had the time to do on my 'manche. You'll love it

When starting the truck after it has sat for awhile, the engine wants to turn over but it takes a bit to finally fire up. Everything sounds like it's working as it should (no odd sounds at least) but it's just tough to start. If I crank it for a bit and it doesn't start I can pause for a second and then try to start it again and it'll fire up right away. Any thoughts on what might need attention? Any testing I should do?

Good news, the chances are those cheap oils you are using are fine, and actually are possibly better than some of the more expensive oils that people throw in the 4L. Any source on this? I find it hard to believe cheaper oils are better than more expensive. Maybe not worse, but why would they be better?

Rotella T6 5W-40 Synthetic with a NAPA Platinum 41515 filter. Zinc being the key reason I went with Rotella T6, as many have mentioned above

Same here, assumed there was no light because mine isn't illuminated at all. I'd love to see a how-to on replacing it -

Potentially really dumb question but any recommendation on how to plug it? Any one option better than another?
