  1. No sir, stock. No idea what the PO did though :dunno:
  2. Absolutely, can't hurt that's for sure. Thanks!
  3. The other day I started up my '92 MJ and noticed the speedometer wasn't working and the radio clock had reset to 12:00. The radio still worked and turn signal lights in the dash worked. I pull the fuses for "Clock" and "Gauges" and they're both blown. I put in new fuses after I get home and the gauges work fine. I set the clock and turn it off. A few days later I start it up and the gauges are dead and the clock is reset to 12:00. I pull the fuses and they're both blown again. Before I start opening everything up, can someone point me to a logical starting point? Should I pull the gauges and radio and check the wiring there first? Or would it make more sense to start under the dash with that jumble of wires? It appears only these two fuses are causing me issues, so I'm assuming the fuse block itself is fine.

    hello!

Welcome to the club! Welcome to the club! I have a white '92 MJ and a JKU as well ('14 Polar Edition in Hydro Blue Pearl). Make sure you start a build thread so we can all watch your progress as you build it out. Mine's going VERY slow but it'll be rewarding and fun Glad to have you here
  5. I assume the IAC and TPS would be key areas to look even on non-Renix MJs? I have a '92 that has the same problem starting and I'm just now getting enough free time to look into it.
  6. Very nice JKU! I have a '14 JKU Polar Edition in Hydro Blue Pearl alongside my '92 MJ. Great minds think alike! Gobi looks like a great color
  7. Swapped the flashers and now both the turn signals and hazards work. Cleaned off the contacts a little but they weren't that dirty. Don't really understand it but definitely not complaining for now. Thanks for the help!
  8. Hornbrod to the rescue once again! I'll try swapping them this evening and see what I get
  9. I'm troubleshooting my non-operational turn signals. They worked fine a week ago, now they just stay lit and don't flash at all. Hazards work fine, turn signals don't at all. In my search for the problem, I checked all the fuses under the dash and saw some wiring connectors that weren't plugged in. I also noticed a switch under the steering wheel that I hadn't noticed before. Doesn't look OEM, but I guess I don't know. Googling gave me nothing. Can anybody help ID either wiring connector or the switch?
  10. Reviving a dead thread because my signals aren't working now and I'm trying to troubleshoot and research. My hazards work fine. Blinking on gauge cluster, blinking from all lights. Both driver and passenger turn signals don't work. Brake lights, turn signals, and side markers all just stay lit with no blinking. Gauge cluster light stays lit with no blinking. Can you take a picture of this turn signal/flasher connector that you mentioned? I looked under my dash down by the pedals and saw a ton of wiring but have no idea what any of it is.
  11. Seems solid so far, definitely enjoying it. I've never been a huge fan of white vehicles but I think it looks especially good in white. Haven't decided if someday I'll paint it but for now, I'm diggin' it.
  12. Thanks Dirty! Definitely enjoyed it so far and learned quite a few things already, mostly from this forum so a big thanks to everyone helping solve problems on here!
  13. The stats: 1992 Base SWB 4.0L High Output AW4 Trans, 2x4 200k miles Located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Stock for now but SLOWLY replacing worn parts. Runs strong as is, overall good condition. Do-it-all truck that may become a DD in the future
  14. I figured I should start one of these to document my SUPER slow build and hopefully be able to give something back to the Comanche Club community with some lesson's learned from myself. Here's my 1992 4.0L Base:
  15. Just completely depends on where you are and what the competition is like. If yours is the only one for 500 miles and is as clean as you say, you can ask $500+. If there are several others in neighboring towns, you could expect $250-$400 probably.
  16. Yeah I can't say for certain the status of the connection last time I drove it, although I would say it was likely connected due to the fact that it was shifting fine and shouldn't be able to without being connected. Having traced the loom back to the transmission housing I figured it needed to be reconnected and really don't know how it got disconnected but I'll be securing it well tomorrow. Thanks for the help!
  17. Back to the beginning. Were both the black and white male connectors plugged into their respective female connectors originally? When I popped the hood this afternoon, the black (NSS) plug was connected and the grey was not. I disconnected the black so I could take the NSS off and clean it
  18. You talking about the male end? That was sitting right by the female end but I moved it for the picture I haven't been shifting it manually, it's been shifting automatically like normal.
  19. I believe so. Tag says "30-43LE" That's the designator for the 2WD AW4. Unless someone has done some creative wiring your TCU is not connected to the transmission. Or your NSS either. Do you have an electrical FSM? Can you supply a picture of the white/gray connector pins? They should look like the below: I disconnected my NSS because I was wanting to disconnect and clean it. It was connected until today. When I opened the hood to disconnect it I noticed the grey connector was already disconnected Here are my connectors I do have the FSM and it shows the same diagram.

  21. I've been needing to remove and clean my neutral safety switch for awhile because it doesn't always start in park and want to see if that clears it up. I go to disconnect the harness in the engine bay and I see that this gray harness is also disconnected. I followed the loom down to the transmission but haven't been able to determine its function. Any thoughts?
  22. I'd like a pair of MT leafs as well. I'll send an email too just to make sure it gets to you
  23. Ended up returning mine and ordering a new pair of bulbs. They went on perfectly and 5 minutes later I had them installed and the housings back on the truck Just in case anyone else is having a hard time installing them, it appears the lugs are occasionally in the wrong spot which makes it impossible to install the bulb.
  24. Do I need to worry about re-indexing if I'm just replacing the distributor cap, rotor, plug wires, and plugs? Was going to try and get to that this weekend $5 says you'll get the plug wires crossed. I know I've done it before. :rotfl2: Now I feel obligated to do it right and prove you wrong!
