  1. Your radiator cap controls the flow. Sophisticated Wild @$$ Guess.
  2. Not strange at all. It's a universal reservoir. The manufacturer has no ironclad idea where the level should be. The markings on it are a SWAG. What's wrong with our valves now?
  3. Fill the tank up to half way between cold and hot with the engine colt and monitor it.
  4. THE HISTORY OF THE 4.0 BYPASSING THE POWER/COMFORT SWITCH AUGUST 6, 2016 CRUISER54 47 COMMENTS EDIT Even though the indicator lights up in your Power/Comfort switch, that does not mean the switch is working and putting the Transmission Control Unit into Power mode. The switches had a high failure rate. Remove and unplug the switch. In the harness are 3 wires. One has a stripe, one is tan, and the other wire is black. Make a 4″ jumper wire with a male spade at each end. Plug one end of the jumper wire in the cavity for the tan wire and the other in the cavity for the striped wire of the harness and you’ll be in permanent Power mode. Stuff the harness back in and reinstall the switch for looks if you want. Make sure the 7.5 amp “Trans” fuse in the fusebox is good. If you happen to have a 91 or 92 XJ/MJ and it has the Power/Comfort switch, just jumper the Tan and Blue wires in the harness plug. NEVER include the black wire when jumpering!!! 5. You need new sway bar bushings. Inspect the hoses at the pump. Any leaks? Perhaps the power steering fluid is foaming. Ever changed it? Can't say for sure on the welds without looking at mine. Sure doesn't look like a robotic spot weld though.
  6. Yep. Could be a bad ground, poor connection, dirty relay receptacle.
  7. I don't. Have you checked the resistance as outlined above by fiatslug87? Have you completed Tips 1 through 5 on my website? I wouldn't buy one more part before doing those things.
  8. Have you completed Tips 1,3,4 and 5 yet? Tell us more about your thermostat. Are you running a good 16 pound radiator cap?
  9. Might burn more fuel and might not. Strong enough to do that easily. With an auto trans, they shift out of one gear and up to the next at 4800 RPM ya know. Glad you're enjoying the Renix Tips.
  10. No worries. It isn't a tractor motor. It's probably the most capable, flexible, and longest running straight 6 engines ever built. Drive it like you stole it if you want to. Ever see the speedo needle point straight down for over 2 miles? I have. Still have that Jeep with over 200K miles.
  11. 2700 RPM is not high for a 4.0. Sure you're not lugging it?
  12. Cruiser54.com is my website dedicated to your era of Jeep. Complete Tips 1 through 5 before spending any more time and money on anything else.
  13. I would try a new Mopar stat. Are you considering 2700 RPM high?
  14. Stick shift? Fusebox covered in brake fluid? Look down near your ignition switch.
  15. I knew you'd take the bait!! LOL.
  16. Well, this is right up your alley!!
  17. The 4 cylinder uses an ISC. Idle Speed Controller. The 6 cylinder uses an IAC. Idle Air Controller.
