HUH!?! My XJ is at 5ish w/35's and I can fully flex without rubbing. Heck I know a guy locally who's got 38's on his XJ with a 3" coil upfront and a AAL and shackle in the rear and doesn't rub. It's called low center of gravity and the proper use of bumpstops. 6-8" of lift with 34's is WAY to much lift....
-
Why do you need 12" of lift to clear 36's?

PROJECT BUDGET MANCHE - Now on 35's!
LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW replied to LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Not a lot of updates lately as I've been busy working on getting the supercharger bolted onto my 4.6L stroker in the XJ.... :brows: I got the cross-over steering setup in from Motion Offroad. Here is a pic of it. Yes I got yelled at last time for having parts on the carpet, so I covered my a$$ this time... I'll get around to installing it sometime in the near future. More updates to come when I find time to work on her.... -

Yet Matt changed his logo on the site about 2 months ago. Additionally, he made an update to his TJ build blog on 06.23.07. Last I talked to him (about 2 months ago), he was about 6 weeks out on doors. Never said a word about not making them as he professionally asked if I wanted to place an order.... I guess I'll email him and see what he says...

Easiest way is to use hot spots with a dimension code attached to it...

Are you using style sheets or what? You can just use a code on each page and put it in there. Here is an example from the one I'm working on this week (in bold)...

Sprayed on bedliner
LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW replied to Geonovast's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Here is mine on the Budget Manche. I used the Duplicolor spray on from WalMart with good results. -
Terry is an awesome guy and does incredible work. However don't expect to get your parts in anything less than a 6 month turn around. He's retired and does it in his extra time. He's so backed up with orders that his lead time is currently at least 6 months for anything. Going now 9 months wait on my XJ rear bumper....

I've done quite a bit of everything (trailer, tow dolly, flat tow). XJ Pulling MJ on trailer. Yes the rear looks like it sags, but I had 3 axles on the rear of the trailer prior to the pic and it was a lot more leval. It was also my old rear leaf pack setup... XJ pulling XJ using tow dolly. Than lastly, Rebecca's XJ flat towing my MJ. As stated the brakes sucks. It helps a LOT having trailer brakes if your going to be using a trailer. I'd also recommend that you have a tranny cooler or else don't even attempt.

LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW replied to Drahcir495's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just don't expect to get them in the next 6-8 months. Terry is a great guy, does awsome work. That being said he is quite backed up. Going on month number 9 of waiting on my XJ rear bumper.... -
GLXJ is hosting it's 2nd Annual FALL CRAWL on Satruday October 27th and Sunday October 28th at Badlands Offroad Park in Attica Indiana. ALL JEEPS ARE WELCOME!!! Admission to Badlands Offroad Park for the 2 day event is $30 per person; or $20 for just 1 day. They just changed their hours; on Saturday you can now ride until 7:00PM, and then on Sunday you can ride until 7:00PM. You can visit their website at http://www.badlandsoffroad.com for more information on the park. Flags ARE required; and can be purchased at the gate/office for $10. Also PLEASE have some sort of recovery (either front tow hooks, or rear hitch). Also please bring a tow strap (no hooks, looped both ends). For those staying both days (or don't want to drive home Sat. night) we will be camping at the campground by the entrance to the park. If you are planning on camping please let me know as I am going to try to reserve enough spots for everyone prior. If you plan on attending please let me know for sure so I can get a head count. I will also note that this is open to GLXJ supporting members as well as non-supporting members. However there will be several giveaways at this event of items for supporting members only. The giveaways are well worth your member fees. Additionally, ANY JEEP's ARE ALLOWED TO WHEEL WITH US (even if not a XJ or MJ). We plan on meeting at the gate/staging area at 10:00AM. We meet at the bottom of the hill in the parking lot across from the pond. This event is made possible by our sponsors. Be sure to check them out 1st if your looking for a new product or service. You can visit our list of sponsors at http://www.greatlakesxj.com/links.html You can see more info on this event by clicking here: http://greatlakesxj.activeboard.com/index.spark?forumID=43793&p=3&topicID=13165976 Hope to see you there! 89 Pioneer. basically done

Canyon's don't have enough BS to fit a 12.5" wide tire without rubbing unless you add spacers. Just trying to save you a headache... -

HO 4.0 swap, having problems
LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW replied to Keats's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Correct. You need to use the HO CPS as well as the HO flexplate/flywheel. Once that is done it should fire right up. (delt with this exact issue last week with a buddy) -
DOH! Thanks Wade!

When I try to use the Search function I don't get any results. Ok well I do get results, but it just shows every post ever made in chronological order. It does not narrow it down to a specific search at all. Am I the only one who has this problem? I've tried to search on 2 separate PC's (both different IP's) and using both FireFox and IE.

Project Hawaii FOUR-O update
LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW replied to RiCeMaN's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Good luck with that knock-off snorkel from zjig. It's a total piece of crap and will crack as soon as it's exposed to the sun. Safari/ARB is actually in the process of suing him for an illegal counterfeit product. Hope you have better luck with yours than I did with mine. Hopefully you weren't mislead like I was with mine with him stating it was an actual ARB product. I've noticed he's changed his listing's now as well... Luckily with my dealing with Safari I got a real one out of the deal since I gave them my crap one to use in prosecuting him. -
The way I see it is that you have 4 options. 1) Fix the problem. It could be a sticky shaft, or a vacume problem. They are very temperamental and in the past I have not had much luck with them. 2) Buy the cable actuated part. Runs you around $175. This eliminates the vacume and makes it so you can move the selector fork via a cable. You could also make your own using a cable from a lawnmower or bike cable. 3) Move your selector fork over perminatly. This can be done by tearing apart the CAD and putting washers/spacers/whatever behind the fork to keep it moved over perminatly. Doing this makes your DS spin while driving like the 91+ models. You than simply select your 4WD via your transfer case. 4) Remove the 2 piece shaft and put in a 1 peice shaft from a later non CAD axle. You than simply remove the CAD and make a plate to cover the hole. I've opted for #3 on my vehicals. You just need to make sure you get the fork over far enough. The farther over you can get it, the better.
