  1. whooBoy. Now what? I had a thing for '42 PU'S winding up with 3 Willys, 2 Hudsons, a Nash, Studebaker, 2 Diamond T's and a International. Now I'm going to have to start digging. When the wife died between storage, selling, giving away, throwing away I don't know where anything is anymore. Know I didn't throw any car pics out. Had a 65 GTO 389 with the 3 pack and a Cummins turbo in it. I've got a couple hunnert pics and a cupple home 8mm movies of it. Now just gotta find the stuff.
  2. The thing you got to remember is during that time span the little car companys were using a lot of the big boys parts. Trying to hold on for another year before going under or being bought out. Two options come to mind. Either AMC used Chrysler components or a previous owner changed the wiring to match the radio. Also I believe I have a identical radio that matches the radio, cassette player only mine is AM-FM only, no tape. Have to go out in the shop and look. As I recall it came out a Javelin, Removed the entire instrument cluster because it had all those guages and installed it in a '42 Willys PU I was hot rodding.
  3. The only thing I could find on those numbers were for AMC Matador and Javelin, late '80's
  4. Just follow current rules should be sufficient.POST YOUR LOCATION. And don't shout.
  5. It's a S10 1985 450 miles on rebuilt engine, transmission and both axles. And until 2 days before pic was taken had a cherry grill. I was restoring it. GF used it to give a neighbor a push. My beer is sitting in the bed,Coors, and that coke bottle has a 'little extra' in it. Also the lens on the MJ parking light has been replaced. EBay $7.
  6. Took a SawAll and cut a line just above the windshield and just below the rear window totaling removing it. Then did the same to the door posts so it would match.

    Where you at?

If people would give their location when posting a ad it would it would help a possible buyer, seller know if it is worth responding to or not.
  8. Where you at?I have several and wondering what shipping would be.

    New Guy

A 2WD with a decent set of tires and a knowledgeble driver behind the wheel will go places a 4WD and a loose nut behind the steering wheel will never go.
  10. That extra torque in 2lo can snap a axle if your not careful. That's why the early Jeeps had their shift levers set so you had to shift into 4WD before you could shift into Lo.
  11. That was it. I just saw the word 'Eagle" and DING, thot I had something. For some reason I was thinking the rear axle and trans would swap.
  12. Hey!! I remember you. You're the fella that was in front of me and I had to push ya down the strip to get ya outta the way.
  13. I have a chance to get a 92 Eagle, 5spd,engine unknown yet, other than it's bad. Basically what parts will interchange with a MJ?
  14. Nuts, bolts work loose. That's why they have cotter pins and safety wire for those in critical places.
  15. I've seen tanks on ebay going for $60 to $160, Fuel pumps $19 to $80. You realy want to check all prices there before you order anything. In line with Automans suggestion, I have a 23 gal tank from a '87 MJ. I will donate it if someone else will pay shipping. It's used but it is rust and dirt free. Infact if I wiped the dust off it I would challenge anyone to tell the difference between it and a new one.
  16. Fuel pump pressure should be at 40psi at all rpm's. If stomping on it from a idle it may drop a couple p's but will return to 40 in a second.
  17. So what's a 'Super Bowl'? Something that holds more cornflakes than a regular bowl?
  18. Nice gate support. :USAflag: :Canadaflag: :USAflag:
  19. Correy, I read that link and have come to the conclusion that positively no matter what you do, or don't do there is a very good possibility that there will be a 50/50 chance of being wrong, or right.
  20. Personally I think everybody is short sheeting their MJ'S. I'm lead footed and hard on machinery. My DD is a '89 SB, 2.5, 5sp, 2WD, 4:10 and 215.60R15.223K on the clock. The only time I do under 80mph is if there's a cop behind me. I constantly pull a 600lb trailer with a 500 gallon water tank on it over a mile of rough cross country to fill stock water tanks. Using a 2" ball mounted on the factory bumper. And yes, it's rust free. I would not hesitate to take off on a 600 mile trip with it. I would check all rubber hoses first tho. I think they are hardy, reliable pieces of machinery, and like any machine must be maintained and PM'ed. Jim Remember,,,,they ARE Jeep.
  21. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to test a auto other than drive it.If there is I would certainly like to hear about it. Maybe AAMCO has a way. Might ask, keeping in mind they're in business to sell, rebuild trannys.
  22. :agree: 100% With CW
