1. How thick of steel should i get for a patch? I got 1 rust hole
2. So almost ready to do my swap and lift, but i got a few questions. First, do i need new front and rear shocks for the lift? I'd like to get some anyway because i hate mine. Second, for the flange adaptor do i get the 1310 one? thanks y'all
3. Clutch went out, it's mechanical so hopefully it's just a seal because I found fluid on my pedal, but if it's the sleeve cylinder i just hope it's external. I don't even know what it looks like so not sure what I'm looking for. Thanks
4. Whats wrong with your transmission? Nothing's wrong in just wondering
5. So once i get about 500$ I'm finally going to get the rest of the parts for my 8.8 swap and the alexia lift, but then i want to get some new tires and so if i went up to 33s or hopefully 35s, what will happen with my bad tranny? should i start looking for a ax15? its a bolt in swap other then widening the tunnel right? thanks
6. You'd have no problem running 31s. Although I can only go into fifth around 65-70 with 3.08s
7. Anyone had any experience with fox shocks? Once I do my lift I'd like to get a nice pair of shocks instead of the $#!&ty rough country shocks I got right now
8. I have his front winch bumper and rock sliders and love them. Probably going to get the rear bumper and then add on some quarter panel protection this summer
9. Ive made some youtube videos of my rig here on my youtube channel if anyone wants to check it out it'd be great! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5-rcdOkfiHIHbsOIIMDBIA
10. Rock sliders finally came and i put them on a week or so ago and i also pulled up the drivers side carpet and found one thumb size rust hole and only minor surface rust. Probably going to fix it in the next few weeks once i get out of school ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http://http://s1148.photobucket.com/user/Jackrabbit123/media/IMG_3703_zpsa5gmsmih.jpg.html'>
11. Maybe get linex in the future. I've watched some videos and it seems pretty easy to weld in a patch. I just need to get a welder and hopefully that's my only hole
12. I think that I am just gunna cut out the rust spot, get a patch welded in and paint the whole thing and make sure it's sealed up and then finish it over with plastidip spray cause I've had that stuff work wonders
13. Could I just jb weld it then get linex out over it? I've seen linex work mircles so I think that'd be strong wnough
14. Pretty sure it was from outside cause the previous owner bed lined the well wheels but right where the rust was there was none and plus the paint on the inside was ok while the outside was all rust
15. Today i joined a big club, the rusty floor plan club but its not that bad (so far). I pulled up the drivers side carpet where your feet sit and theres only surface rust except for a hole the size of a thumb that goes all the way through the wheel well and you can see light. I'm in my last week of school so i don't have time to pull out the hole interior this week, but in a week ill do that and sand all the rust and hope for no more holes but then what should i do? should i get it linex? its easy to clean but expensive and takes a couple days, but then what about herculiner? And other good easy to clean bed liner substance. Can they fill the hole?I've heard thats not easy to clean, but its cheaper. also i would get my bed and wheel wells covered with the linex too cause I've been wanting that, but its just a money thing but ill start working again soon. also, could i just prime and paint it and somehow fill the hole or get something welded on. I'm a first timer with this so give me all the details. and yes I've looked at some other stuff, but still not sure what to do. thanks and here's 4 pics of it. ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// sorry for the bad pics i couldn't get it to focus
16. You saw the herculiner in the back of my truck. Its dull, Ugly & starting to flake off (Yes i did prep VERY well) Like the other two have said, Check into U-pol. It is a little more expensive than herculiner, but looks a lot better quality. (And you can mix paint to make it diff colors) Ya, I remember it. I'll look into it. Thanks and my rock sliders finally came. I'm putting them on this weekend
17. So I need a headliner and I'm tired of my plastic insert Bedliner. My dad has linex in his Silverado and it's awesome. I would love to get some but it's $$$ and i can't leave my truck somewhere for a couple days cause I got to get around. My question is, is herculiner worth it and would it be good to put in the cab as a headliner? A lot of people say it doesn't fade to much and it's also a good insulator. Or should I just get linex and a actual headliner with sound dampening material? Thanks
18. Ive had a train horn installed, but it kept having problems because i put it under the hood by the engine and it was way to hot, so today i moved it to a spot right by the rocker panels tucked up int the side of the bed. The trumpets have been under the bed the whole time. here's so pics: ">http:// ">http:// ">http://http://s1148.photobucket.com/user/Jackrabbit123/media/IMG_3559_zpsbkyrg1oy.jpg.html'> The only problem i didn't think of until i finished is that when my rock sliders finally come (I've been waiting 9 weeks from Nates 4x4, but its worth the wait), and so i think they could hit the tank, but ill fix it when I'm there. Lol, this train horn has caused me so many problems and money then its really worth, but its so much fun to be a fool sometimes
19. And so because I'm shimming the pinion angle and get the spring perches welded on at 0 deg. Should I get the spring perches welded on around 3 degrees? I know it's gonna be somewhere around there and a little more but not sure. Is it worth guessing a bit or just doing it all with shims?
20. To find pinion angle do I just put a angle finder flush with the yoke? And then it should be somewhere near the same angle of the t case operating angle at ride height? Thanks
21. Sounds like a few hours of work to me. Something else to keep in mind is that I wouldn't reuse the u-bolts if you plan on taking the 35 out and then putting it back in. Either way, if time, space, or a welder is an issue, then use steel shims like Pete said.Cool thanks and I got the ruff stuff swap so I got all new u bolts
22. I'd love to get a welder but I don't have the money and I want to do the actual swap on a weekend cause I need to be able to drive to school. How long would I take to pull out the d35 and put in the 8.8 to set spring perches and shocks and then put the d35 back in? Would I be able to do that in a weekend?
23. I just want to do the swap myself and I dot have anyone that can bring a welder to me. So I think I'll just do shims if they are ok
24. So i got my spring perches spaced out to the correct length. from outside to outside my springs are like 44.75 apart. so thats how far apart i put my new perches from the outside to the outside. Then I put my perch angle level with the housing at 0 degrees. I'm going to use shims to set pinion angle. Does this all sound correct? I'm trying to set all this up without pulling the dana 35, so thats why i want to use shims. Are they ok to use? thanks y'all
