On the 8.8, theres spring perches, but then theres some other flat things that look like spring perches too but there facing another direction that I'm not sure what they are. Anyone know? I don't wanna cut anything off I'm not supposed too. And how do I know where to put the spring perches. I can't find anything on that. Is it a measuring thing? or do i need to pull out the dana 35 to do it? thanks -

So, do i just cut off the spring perch? is that all? I'm thinking about get this, http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/88SS-31.html, in this kit it has all those optional things, what are those? and is there anything other then spacers and the drive shaft adapter that ill need ill need? i've looked around a lot and the only thing i am confused about it relocating the spring perches (do i measure from the end of the housing in?) and if i need to cut off that other thing that looks like the spring perch. Is that the shock mount? thanks Thanks for the help -
So this Saturday morning I went and got a 2000 Ford Explorer 8.8 with a limited slip and 4.10s. So far I've degreased it and washed it, and pull off the diff cover. The gears are fine me no metal shavings anywhere. It has nice new rotors and pads. Now here's my questions, I know that the spring perches have to be moved to fit in my comanche, so should I get new ones or reuse the ones I'm going to cut off? How do I decide where the new ones go? What else do I need to do so I can put it in? Will the mj drive shaft fit up to the explorer diff? Should I get c clip eliminators? It's out so would it be worth it? Should I go with 1 piece axles? What diff fluid should I use? Thanks yall and I can't wait to paint it and get it in. Also should I paint it before I do the spring perches or after?

I'm not going to do the swap until this summer. I need to get all the parts for a bigger lift and chromoly for my Dana 30 -
Just get a klienn train horn

Should I get a non locking 4.10 for 325$ 2000 or get a limited slip 4.10 for 500$? I know that I could get them cheaper if I waited but I've been waiting and also, if I got a limited slip would I still want a locker? I think I might because my limited slip in my Dana 35 I don't really like. If I got that open 4.10 8.8 I would get a locker for sure. What should j do?

I had a problem like that and it ended up being my coil wire. Its the wire going from the something to the distributor

I'm not skipping 2nd, i know how to drive. and whats BA10/5?

So, i used to be able to go into 2nd gear from mid first gear (i don't have a rpm gauge so i don't know what rams I'm at) but now when i do it (it started doing this 2 days ago) it almost dies. Its like its about to stall. I have to redline through 1st and then shift into 2nd for it not to almost bog down and die. This only happens in second. Why? 1987 manual 5 speed 4.0l
