surprisingly that bolt came out with hardly a struggle, i did notice the thread locker on it, but a 1/4" drive and a 5/16" socket got it just fine.

1988 Comanche Pioneer Specs : 88" , 4.0 , BA 10-5 , NP231 , D30/35 , SWB Mileage : 220,000 Build date : unknown Location : Last known in Newton, NJ Status : Sent to the scrap, after several large wholes were found through out the frame and uni body. Notes : This was my first comanche, and I remember seeing the rust and thinking, "That'll be an easy fix." :dunce: After tearing it down and finding the extent of the cancer, it was stripped of usable parts and scrapped. :agree: with rob. Engine bay fires are best fought through the grill, or if possible from underneath. Our old mini pumper had pre piped piercing nozzle on it strictly for car fires. Definitely sucks it happened, hopefully you can rebuild it to its former glory :drool:

got the axle shafts out, and i was thinking it was some sort of sensor. It looks kind of like something connected to it, or there was a plug there or something because underneath where i found it there was a bolt. Looked like whatever it is something bolts up to it that connects to it. :dunno: Don't think its much of a problem, i guess i'll just plug the whole with something and be done with it.

So my questions keep building as i get deeper into the 8.8 swap. Yesterday i noticed a round plug sort of thing on the top of the pumpkin. I went to pull it out, and found that it was a magnet. I pulled it out and its got copper wire wrapped around it. What is this, and do i need it? Image Not Found Also, i am having trouble getting the c clips off so i can get the axle shafts out. This is my first time working with c clips, and i'm not sure on the best way to pull them.

I agree with eagle. I had the same issue and he schooled me on the differences between the 2. Word of advice, get your tires balanced. Death wobble usually doesn't just start happening out of the blue, it usually takes hitting a bump or something to send it wobbling

i know there jeep rims, not sure on the actual name. I see them a lot on ZJ's. They're 5x4.5 like the mj

Where is the valve? If its at the front of the fuel rail, its the fuel pressure regulator, and yes you need it. Fuel pump ground is behind 1 of the tail lights, not sure which one

i would say the about the same for here in Jersey too. I'd say 2 to 3 grand easy

finally got my 8.8 today, just need to wire wheel it and do some brake work. My question was, do i need to shorten my drive shaft to fit the 8.8? Also, how do i adapt the pinion to accept the MJ's drive shaft? Thanks in advance :cheers:

and theres my other problem, i just bought an 8.8 so thats gonna need spacers just to get it to stock width

thats the thing i don't like about stock wheels, no tire poke. I don't like ridiculous amounts of tire sticking out, but a little bit looks good. My tires sit flush with the flares now, and with the 5" lift it looks too skinny.

o i know that, 3 of the 4 jeeps i've owned have had spray painted wheels :clapping:

i would consider some nice canyons, but i like black, and most jeep wheels i find around here are for waaaaay too much
