  1. Ok, this post reaffirms my thinking, I'm swapping the D44 out of my '86 MJ and putting it in the 88 Eliminator I just bought. It has a D35, and that can go under the '86 when I sell it. Jerry
  2. 10th character in the VIN is a "G". Jerry
  3. Well, here is what's under my '86 MJ which originally had the 2.8 and Torque Flite tranny. Image Not Found You be the judge. Jerry
  4. Just as an added note, I did #'s 1-5 so far with Cruiser's Tips, still nothing at the pump. Need to get some test leads to check that pump. I did pour a little gas down the TB, and did get a blip from the engine, but, still nothing coming out of the fuel rail bleed off valve. Something is either not telling the pump to come on, or the pump is bad. Checking again now to see if that 7.5 volts O registered earlier is at full 12 volts. Jerry
  5. That's what I thought, wasn't sure how many volts the pump needed/should have. Thanks, slowly, but surely, I'm working through the wiring harnesses, cleaning the up with electrical cleaner. I got the C101 connector done, WOOHOO!! Jerry
  6. Looks like my '86 had a D44 originally, doesn't look like it was messed with in 28 years! I was surprised, it's a Custom that had the 2.8 in it, thought it should have had an AMC 20 as well. Jerry
  7. Only big issue I know of with an AX5, is the snap ring for 5th gear breaking or walking off the shaft, which makes the gear come in contact less and less with the mating gear to the point that they are not touching, leaving you without 5th gear. They make a collar that fits over that snap ring against the gear to keep that from happening again. Jerry
  8. Nothing from the fuel pump, supposedly a new fuel pump and looks like a fresh-looking fuel filter. I have power at the relay, and 7.5 volts at the pump connector, where should I check next? Thanks! Jerry
  9. Thanks, I think the only options it didn't have was cruise control and the auto tranny. Trying to diagnose the no fuel issue first, no pressure at fuel rail, pump not on (PO SAID he put a new one in), and I have power at the relay. Did some swapping around of relays, still nothing. Going to redo the ground behind the drivers side taillight, as I've read that was a source of issues. That's it at the moment. Jerry
  10. Love the hood scoop!! That blue looks really good! Jerry
  11. That slide mount on the rear of the spring looks interesting! Jerry
  12. Proof that book learnin' and "certifications" mean little without common sense. I provided examples of water situations that did not require "blasting" anything. I guess your claimed education did not prepare you to think for yourself if you can't imagine such scenarios for yourself. Typical. And an "engineer" who runs k&N's especially on a jeep... just makes me chuckle. Proof that catchy ads fool the gullible. Maybe you are the "engineer" who designed that Tornado? I did not insult you so be a man and act like one.As for my K&N, I live on dirt roads and cleaning it is a convenience. I did not buy for power. I did not come here to argue with you nor will I bow down to you either. The only way you will ruin that filter in a stock airbox is to irresponsibility blast a water crossing or take water over the hood. I live in the Everglades so have far more experience with water as you would have more experience in rocks/trails then me. IMO, your job is to help the members instead of attack. If you don't like someone's lift or mods, don't run them and don't put it down. Its not your rig so don't worry. So take this with a grain of salt, step back and chill out. Exactly!! Jerry
  13. Why the insults and jabs!? Someone has an idea, some like it, some don't, DEAL WITH IT!! Arguing about it just pisses people off, doesn't do anything else constructive. If you don't like the mod, WHY IN THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT THIS THREAD!!??? Geeze, grow up out of diapers, people!! Jerry
  14. I just couldn't swing the money to pick the AX15 up. Not sure when that's going to happen, money is a little tight now. Jerry
  15. Did some painting on the grille, bumper, and headlight bezels. Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found I finally know what I'll be doing for an engine now! I want to get an AMC 304 or 360 V8, and mate it up to an AX15. Now, just have to get those! Jerry
  16. Ok, this is what I have for seat and bracket: Image Not Found Image Not Found Here's the bracket and sliders in my '93 XJ: Image Not Found Thinking of getting a set of XJ sliders from 84-93, attaching the early XJ sliders to the MJ brackets, and making a plate to bolt the later XJ seats to the early XJ sliders. Sounds like a plan? Jerry
  17. Just curious, when do the fender Comanche badges change from what's in my avatar to the ones that look like the XJ's? Trying to find out if they had been swapped on mine or they are original to the truck. Thanks! Jerry
  18. Looks like mine I found in my MJ's glove box. I was shocked that it was still in there! Jerry
  19. That's what I thought, seems like some sort of resin/fiberglass. Whenever I can get back to it, I'll chip that crap out of there. Jerry
  20. I planned on covering it with spray bed liner. Jerry
  21. I live in Stuart, about halfway between Ft. Pierce and West Palm Beach. I would help, but I have no clue when I can get out that way. Jerry
  22. ^^^^Now, that's bad@$$!! Jerry
