  1. Dang, you frenched them in. I bet that was a pain.
  2. That's a hell of a buddy. Congratulations
  3. I would agree with Pete on this. Cheap and easy and should get you by for years.
  4. That is totally different than what I have. This appears to me to be a GM alternator.
  5. Eagle, the interior and under the hood are a real mess. I poked a hole in the driver floor pan but I don't think they are so far gone they couldn't be repaired. No title, the guy I bought it from said he bought it from a salvage yard. JeepSchmidt, I will have to investigate further on trans. I looked the VIN up online and it said it was a 5 speed, floor shift, part time 4x4, NP207. I will admit this is new to me so I have some learning to do. Parts of the engine are gone but the rest of the drive train is there.
  6. This is the truck that was on some of the Comanche forums on Facebook. Out of Hutchinson Ks.
  7. I put it up by the barn on some concrete. The rust on the bed is not through, at least what I can see. It does have some dents and dings and the tail gate is shot.
  8. $200 for truck, $75 for a used set of tires and wheels, $76 for a U haul trailer and gas to go get it. I had to sell the boss on the idea I that I could sell some parts and make some or all my money back. I think I will.
  9. I bought a '86 Comanche this past weekend. I got it mainly for the rear axle. It is an AMC 20 with 4.10 gears and Trac-loc. The guy I bought it from said it had 3.73 gears but the build sheet was literally laying in the front seat and I looked it up. The code is CC. I think it was a good score. I'm going to take what I want for mine and sell the rest. It has a tilt wheel and glove box light I want and appear to be ok. The engine is a 4 banger but is supposedly blown. It has a 5 speed and a NP 207 transfer case. Condition unknown. There are some good parts and when the weather gets better I will tear into it and see what is good. Stay tuned.
  10. Did you make the patch panels? Regardless they look good.
  11. Looking good, that hold down is a good idea.
  12. Dang, you had to take a big chunk out of the oil pan! Looks really cool, though.
  13. I already had the wiring upgrade with relays. Maybe I should have tried the ExtraVision bulbs but it's to late now. And yes, the new Gm pickups have blinding lights. I have a new Colorado and I get brighted all the time.
  14. Since I only have 2wd, when the weather is crappy I drive my new 4wd pickup. I drive the Comanche nearly everyday. I gotta admit i like the dang thing. I am glad gas is cheap. And yeah I'm not paying 600 bucks for headlights.
  15. I thought about bringing the part about aiming up but I had already posted. I was asking because I recently installed LED headlights but I haven't been brighted once. I will have my wife drive the beater tonight and I will drive another vehicle toward her and see how bright they really are and also check the alignment on them.
  16. I was on another XJ/MJ site on Facebook this morning and one of the moderators was really rude and cussing like a moron to a guy about his use of LED headlights. I called him out on it and he of course cussed me and blocked me from further comment. My understanding is if you use DOT approved lights they are OK for street use without being obnoxious to other drivers. Am I correct or are they still way to bright?
  17. Glad to hear you are on the mend.
  18. Looking good
  19. So true, if I was in looking I think I would pay his price. That thing is slick.
  20. Ya know, people are always talking about so and so is asking to much for their vehicle. I bet there are some of the more anal builds on here that are approaching 30 grand. I know what I have in mine and it isn't near as nice as a BUNCH of the trucks on here.
  21. It's already paid for, gotta go. She has mentioned it a couple times since I first showed it to her. If I didn't have a fortune in the one I already have........
  22. I just showed this to my wife and she said if only you weren't going to Hawaii in a couple months maybe you could get it.
  23. Dang, that's the look I'm wanting. Nice looking too.
  24. I was told they were the seats out of a base model Mitsubishi Evo. Not really sure though. They are wider and were a bit of a pain to put in but are really comfortable.
  25. I've had a Vertically Driven center console for awhile now and it was finally nice enough to install. I'm thinking this is the last one for awhile. It is pretty nice and it fits really well in between the seats. I also installed some DOT approved LED headlights and some LED bulbs in the b pillar lights. Other than that it is still running good and no more problems with the RFI.
