  1. Thought I'd add some pics of how these go on.
  2. Not sure how they will verify a person went to a Jeep Jamboree...
  3. Got this at the Jeep Jamboree...
  4. "Rocking" floor pedestals have a large "paddle" handle to control the rocking adjustment.
  5. Wasn't sure how to title this. As some of you may know, the factory tow hooks consist of the tow hooks and three separate brackets per side. One of those brackets looks like the attached pic. These brackets bolt to the unibody, and have a welded nut that replaces those darn "clip-nuts" that always seem to crack in half and be a general pain when removing the front bumper. I was at the junkyard the other day and found an XJ with the factory tow hooks. I didn't have the big torx bit to the get the main brackets, but I got these. I think every XJ/MJ should have these instead of those clip nuts.
  6. Badlands Jeep Jamboree in Attica, Indiana 2018
  7. This isn't the first time I've flopped. I was trying a harder line and it didn't work out. I've had body damage on the last three trips I've made. I was actually just thinking yesterday that I need to re-evaluate my driving skills and make an effort to not bang the body up, if I can help it.
  8. `In an XJ, 93 I think. Didn't have the energy or room to grab them.
  9. Good times at the Palo Duro Jeep Jamboree 18-19 May.
  10. Like. But I suspect the Hellas will be easier to source. Is that an emu on your front bumper? I see the grill is in. Looks great. Did you make a post about it?
  11. I agree that the rectangular Hella 550s are a better "fit" for our XJs and MJs. I'm a fan of a driving light instead of a fog light. I aim my driving lights to fall on the road somewhere between my low beams and high beams. I've got these lights on my MJ, XJ, and Silverado.
  12. That red panel with the pocket came from a 1986 XJ 4 dr Laredo package. I used the seat frames in my XJ because they were the "rocker" type bases like the OPs. I used to own an 89 XJ Wagoneer. Wish I'd kept it. It was power seats, both sides. My experience in looking at a bunch of XJs, is that driver and pass power seats went away with the switch from Renix to HO. HO are only power on the driver side, like your 91.
  13. I've never seen one, ever, and I've searched junkyards from Hawaii to Virginia over the last 30 years. Not saying they don't exist, but I've never seen one.
  14. My 79 K5 Blazer passenger seat has a lever that allows the entire seat to flip forward for access to the back seat. The driver seat does not. I've never found or noticed this, but I suspect this might be the case for very early 2 dr XJs, based off this post. The idea being that back seat passengers get in the on the passenger side. The early "extra cab" Chevy Silverados only had a door that opened on the pass side from 98-2000. 2001 was the first year for suicide style opening rear doors on both sides.
  15. I suspect those seat bases are a matched pair. Those are the "rocker" type seat bases. See the "paddles" that face inboard? Those control the "rocker" motion. The plastic-tipped round metal rod levers control fore-and-aft.
  16. This is a removable piece from the back of the seat on very early XJs. Like those pictured by the OP above, except with a pocket built in. This might be what John is referring to.
  17. Recently wrapped up some work. I switched to a different radiator and electric fan. Added an engine oil cooler. Switched out my YJ dual diaphragm vacuum brake booster with a hydroboost unit from an Astro van. That was a little more than I had bargained for, as I had to pull the steering column and pedal hanger to switch from my YJ brake pedal back to a CJ brake pedal. It worked out in the end. The factory CJ brake lines even hooked right up to the Astro master cylinder! I'd modified my oem lines to work with the YJ m/c, but I had a set of aftermarket stainless steel ones laying around.
  18. 1999 was the first year for the 6.0, I've read that the first year had cast iron cylinder heads instead of aluminum. It's got hydroboost. I just converted my CJ7 to hydroboost, and it is a big improvement over a dual diaphragm vacuum booster. My 2001 Silverado has 295,000 and still runs strong. In my neck of the woods, 6.0s have a reputation of running forever. The 2500HDs have a factory engine oil cooler which the 1500s did not. Makes me wonder if that has anything to do with their longevity.
  19. Most people consider the wheels on our Comanches "vintage". Like Dirty commented, the 5x4.5 wheel pattern isn't very common prior to our trucks. All years of XJs, YJs, and TJs interchange as far as wheel lug pattern.
  20. If you installed a new M/C, and the next day your booster went bad and required replacement, would you replace your one day old M/C? NO. What about a month old? No. A year? probably not. If the M/C is original to your 30 year old truck, it might be a good idea to go ahead and replace it. I consider this a common sense approach.
  21. Great info! So any XJ with front door speakers (which is nearly all of them) would provide a set of 8?
  22. I've also sold several sets after the first pair I found went in my MJ. I think a fair price is higher than one would expect for what they are, because they are such a pain to get out. I wonder if the plastic nuts are the same as the ones for the grill? Would be a relatively easy source.
