  1. Thanks for the link, you are right about the hype; Oh yeah, I am totally sure Jeep will offer a package to move the JKs body up 2feet in the air, and 3 feet forward, so it can be mounted by the customer, over the engine. Yes, that would be just like the close out + add a bed JK-8 kit, that didn't effect crumple zones, airbag deployment, or much else forward of the ft doors. Yep, same thing. Lol
  2. Lol Yeah, they hooked the white paint up to the lawn sprinkler, and came back in an hour with that one. ;) Though from this angle, the painted mirrors look good. Painted door handles & side vents, not so much.
  3. Damn! Put a V8 5 or 6 speed in it, and tell me who to make the check out to! While I'm dreaming, order me up a 10 passenger van like that as well. :D
  4. I contacted them about the two non working injectors tonight. (would have done it sooner, but moving has taken up most of my time lately) I'll post up results.
  5. I guess I missed the really juicy stuff, lol. Some of what I saw was interesting & compelling, some of it rehashed bs, some of it I didn't bother to read. None of it offended me. It's lousy how divided our country is, but at the same time, amazing that you can see two people can look at the exact same information, and draw two completely different conclusions/opinions on it. We all filter out what we don't want to hear, and seek out the type of information that validates our beliefs. I guess that's where it starts.
  6. Well, I FINALLY installed these injectors last night, and things went LESS than well. :( I've swapped injectors before, so there was no issue with installing them. When I started the engine afterward, it did not want to catch & run. Finally, it sputtered to life, at first seemingly on 2 or 3 cylinders, then it slowly got somewhat better, but skipping & doing the shake like a paint mixer. I let it mix paint for 5 minutes, till I was satisfied it would not improve, then pulled the injector plugs one at a time. #1 good (engine ran worse when pulled) #2 no change (engine ran just as crappy, but not worse) #3 no change #4 good #5 good #6 good I tapped the #2&3 injectors with the back of a screwdriver, in the hopes they would 'kick in' but no such luck. I then cleaned 2 of the old renix injectors, and installed them in the #2&3 locations. viola, engine instantly back to its old purring self. At the time of purchase this injector supplier said he would replace any defective injectors, my next step will be to contact him & see. I'll update again then.
  7. Wow this thread has taken a couple twists and turns. :D Did you try calling the siding manufacturer? Even if they don't want to warrantee the material, they may have some inside to what is going on. Also, hopefully it gets resolved while that color/ style is still available, I've heard of people having to reside a whole house because the material wasn't available to replace one section, after a small fire. (Luckily the insurance company ate that one). Either way, any updates on this? Is there a matching crop circle in your back yard? :D
  8. Thanks guys!!!! I just measured the garage, 26' wide 30' deep with 12' 9" ceiling height :rotf: Yeah, that is defiantly a step in the right direction from the tarp garage, and laying on my back wrenching under the stars. I'd planned on a slow move, the little guy wants to finish out the school year, but we started moving stuff today.:D We'll see. & Don, I'm about 20 minutes North of your aunt, let me know when you're coming up.:D
  9. Welp, I parted ways with this: and signed my life away till 2042, for this: Yay me, now time to move all the crap we've accumulated in our current house over the last 17 years
  10. Having grown up in the projects of one of the crappier cities in Ma, I can tell you the "safety net" is anything but. Working the system is a full time job for those that refuse to work. Fraudulent Social Security claims have replaced welfare as the non working class' primary income. That allows them to remain jobless, and supplement that income through drug dealing & crime
  11. I agree. Up is down, illegal is legal, and your reward for working hard your whole life to get ahead is guilt, and the bill for all the handouts.
  12. Damn, I'm having issues too. I'll post up details after the deal is done, should be tomorrow, or Friday (I hope).
  13. It's horrible what has been done to our industrial & manufacturing infrastructure in the last 20-30 years. Our ability to manufacture is the thing that tipped the scales in WWII. We didn't make the best planes, tanks & ships, but we made the MOST. That ability is gone. And what did we get in return? $299 big screen TV's, and $100 smart phones. Short term gain in return for long term failure. Forget Spanish, the younger guys here better learn to speak Mandarin.
  14. I get what you are saying, but there aren't many nations on Earth that WEREN'T taken by force at some time or another. How many times was England conquered? Norman's--->AngloSaxons'--->Roman's. No one usually offers up their home without a fight. Look back at the last couple hundred thousand years of humankind, we're lucky to be living in a bubble of relative civilization, preceded by thousands of generations of humans that weren't so nice to the other humans of the time. My plan is to try and enjoy my short time on the planet, choosing to appreciate the incredible luck and blessing I received to be born into greatest nation on Earth, instead of feeling guilty, and apologetic for it. God Bless America :USAflag: :USAflag: :USAflag:
  15. I have no words for this. Dingbat Chairwoman has no clue what so ever.
  16. Years and years ago, they pulled all the Halon extinguishers off the shelves in stores. They limited the sale of Halon since it's a chlorofluorocarbon, and kills ozone, chemically very close to old school Freon. For years after, I'd check the fire extinguisher shelves, for dusty old boxes, of Halon extinguishers. Eventually, lots of them made their way back onto the shelf, clearanced for pennies on the original prices. I picked up 5 or 6 Kiddy 4 pounders over the years like this, usually for under $5. Also, when we demo computer rooms, I keep an eye out for them. (those are bigger, but tough to come by). I keep a 4lb in each car, in the kitchen, and a 20 pounder for when I weld. There's no clean up with Halon, they work awesome, and it's only a breathing danger if you release it in a confined area.
  17. Ha, interesting fix. I've posted this one before..... but I had to fit a whole XJ into a half-dumpster: Dumpster + tow strap + XJ tow rig = Redneck car crusher: Perfect fit: It's all Hyundai's now :(
  18. FWIW, I had 3 or 4 4.0l dipsticks left over from stripped Cherokee's & Comanche's, They were all a little different from each other. About a half a quart difference from the shortest to the longest.
  19. If you've never heard of him, spend a couple minutes looking up Mitt's dad George Romney. He was without a doubt the best President AMC ever had, turned the merger of the two independents, Hudson & Nash into a profitable auto manufacturer that could take on the big three. It's a shame he resigned AMC for a career in politics in '62, the company was never as well run, or as profitable after he left. If Mitt has 10% of the common sense & business sense of his dad, he could run circles around our current president. (I don't think Mitt is the absolute best guy for the job, just comparing him to the guy doing it now)
  20.  Awesome house!
  21. I generally get 12-15 mpg out of my 89 (stock 4.0l auto 40k mi 30" tires), this last tank I got 10.5mpg :( All city driving. The most I think I ever squeezed into the tank was 16 gallons. That's $60+ now.
  22. Selling agent has scrutinized our moves, she was worried about our bank when we chose one she wasn't familiar with was worried when we chose a home inspector not on her list of 3 she gave us, worried worried worried. So you figure she'd have her ducks all in a row on her end, right? Newp. Our closing date is in 4 business days (3/1), and the selling bank still DOES NOT HAVE A FORECLOSURE DEED IN THEIR NAME! The house is still listed with the town in the previous owners name. I was told this was just an oversight, one signature away from being filed, weeks ago. Our lender can't proceed with paperwork till the deed is properly filed, and the selling agent is on vacation at the moment. :( Oh well, hope this problem is just someone being lazy/stupid, and not an improper foreclosure/bad paper issue. :wall:
  23. I had an Econoline Van like this. You could start it up, put it in drive, and it would just sit there for 10-15 minutes. Finally, when it was good & ready, it would pull out of the spot, and operate completely normally. I drove it like that for months, then one day while I was driving it, (fully warmed up, and miles from home) the trans started slipping, drove another 100 feet or so, then would not move forward under its own power. It backed up just fine, but I didn't think I could make the 6-7 miles home in reverse in a van without windows. :ack: I ended up parking it in a field, and it became my first apartment :chillin:
  24. I don't remember anything about the original release beyond the movie posters, and seeing this TV commercial over and over and over again: 94N6UNmSIsY Part 2 still has one of the greatest opening scenes EVER!   0hUrcGCQV1g
  25. Its new to me. I've been waiting 30 years for a real sequel to The Road Warrior, (sorry, but Thunderdome wasn't it) don't ruin it for me. ;)
