You can get a brand new set of steelies with less backspace than stockers for like $40 more than a set of spacers will run ya, and you won't have to worry about all the inherent problems that can be associated with running spacers.

Remove lifters without removing the head? '89 4.0L

Nope! Not that I've ever heard of at least! -
Another jeep!!!!!!!!!! the one I bought pics check it out!
philbert001 replied to jeep_freek88's topic in The Pub
ZJ is right. My fist Jeep was my 96 ZJ. It is the most comfortable vehicle I've ever owned! It's got 195,xxx miles on it, and still runs like a top! (4.0 of course!) If it is a full time 4x4, (NP249), first thing I would do is swap in a 231, or 242. That way, you can run it in 2wd, and save on gas. (Or get bad mileage, but have more fun doing it!) Congrats! They are great trucks! -
I'll pop a new one in at some point when I have the wheels and brakes off. (Actually, I'll probably have it all apart 5 times before I remember to do it!)

I could have gotten the correct font stickers made, had I wanted to. I like this font, it's not an eliminator by vin, it's an eliminator by nature! And my desire for this truck is to look stock, but not!

My cousin bought a vinyl plotter, and is trying to integrate it into her graphic design business. Anyway, $13, (After family discount), got me some Bedside vinyl! It's supposed to be 6 year, out door quality stuff! Here's a few pics.

'87 With Slightly High Idle... Why?
philbert001 replied to neohic's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would say triple check those vacuum lines. That'll mess with idle! -
88 Comanche (My Style)..."The Blue Truck"

I wish we COULD only work on them when it's fun stuff, but the necessary stuff is, well, necessary! Good lookin truck! -
In theory, yes, but in practice, probably not. I would douche down your spring mounting bolts for several days in a row before attempting it. A lot of times, the bolts are seized to the bushing sleeves. Good luck bud!

Squirters! nozzles!, whichever you prefer!

:agree: Honda civic is exactly what I was thinking!

Front shock bushings taking a beating?
philbert001 replied to Car RamRod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Longer shocks. you are pulling your shocks past full droop, thus, all that's left to absorb the axle droop after a bump is that bushing. If you have good shocks/new shocks, I would think about a set of bar pin eliminators. they will let the lower shock mount ride about 1.5 inches higher, allowing the shock to droop that much further, and they will make your lower shock bushing do it's job better, because it will be contained inside the "eye" of the shock, whereas the bar pin allows it to bulge out of the eye of the shock. -
Engine Swap - Simple Question (I Hope)
philbert001 replied to summerinmaine's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I pulled my motor, with clutch, and only removed the upper radiator support/tiebar and radiator, mechanical fan, and MAP sensor. (Just barely though!) And my trans/t-case/ crossmember were already out the bottom. (Don't know what kind of difference that'll make) -
I would trade my factory one for any decent off-road style bumper!

I didn't have to trim the stache weekly till a few years ago. I think on my 30th birthday, my nose hair, and mustache joined forces to try and overrun my mouth! (And my stache is where I have all my gray hairs! 3 kids'll do that to ya!) Dirty blonde hair, red beard, and graying mustache! Nobody asks ME if the curtains match the drapes! Nothin matches on me!

Exactly where I'm at! I haven't used a razor since before I really needed one! Weather I'm just trimming the beard, or taking it all off, I just use clippers. (I can get away with it, because I have a red beard, and don't look scraggly without a clean shave.) I let it grow from last Nov-Apr, and only trimmed the stache to keep from eating it. I had true mountain man status with all my friends!

ZJ bottle won't do her for ya then! It's WAAAAY bigger than an MJ stocker!

Well, mine is lifted quite a bit, and since ALL the weight is up front, that's where it needs the most suspension/travel off road. Kind of the Baha look. And I'm not talkin a lot. maybe just to where both wheel flairs look level. (Which, as you said earlier, since the rear flair is mounted higher, level flairs= nose up, just a touch!) By rake, they are talking about the angle of the body. In this case, they are saying nose down rake.
