  1. Yeah, I call my XJ the Jeep and the MJ the truck. Otherwise, it's too much work to 'splain which Jeep I'm talking about.
  2. that stuff looks like it is impossible to scratch but will it chip if it is dented and does it come in flat green Well, I sprayed my old fender as practice before doing the truck. I think I'll go take a hammer to it and see what happens. :D colors: http://www.zolatoneaim.com/palette.php Totally do it. I'm curious now.
  3. I don't have the setup; I don't even have a garage or a concrete driveway; no air compressor or paint guns. Too bad, though.
  4. So, if you rattle can your truck and get it looking good, can you take it and get it clear coated for longevity? I'm sure they make UV stabilized clear coating, to help prevent that. I'm restoring mine to a nice DD, so I want something that looks good and will last. Can you get auto paint on the market?
  5. No worries, I was just curious.
  6. Do you mean just removing the speaker cover on the door? You have to remove the whole door panel. I just replaced mine and when I pulled the passenger side I noticed it felt kind of light. Turns out the magnet had actually fallen off the stock speaker and was just sitting in the bottom of the door. :shake: Eagle said the proper size speaker is a 4" that's installed on a 4x6 plate. Will a 4x6 speaker just drop into that hole? Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I got the doors replaced with 5 1/4" speakers. The B pillar has a 4" that's installed on a 4x6 plate. If you remove the whole plate, you can just drop in a 4x6 in that space? Eagle was referring to the speakers in the B pillar behind the seat, not the door. Were you referring to the B pillar? Ive only had the panels off once; I know there is a bracket that holds the speakers in, not sure how they mount w/out the bracket
  7. Why do you think that vehicles shouldnt have names or genders?
  8. Can you overcool a transmission?
  9. veintitres.
  10. How did you come up with the name for your truck? I've always named the vehicle based on how the horn sounds. That's why my XJ is named Tina. I haven't figured out the MJ name yet.
  11. Sucks for the PO. I paid 86.50 for tax, title, and getting my plates transferred.
  12. Just curious if anything came of this?
  13. Is it auto paint or something else? I'm not adverse to painting it myself, I just want it to last.
  14. Can the rear line get clogged inside the valve cover? Or can I just remove the rear line and get a new one/clean it out? Also, does the rear grommet just pull out of the hole? I have a feeling that it's going to rip the grommet once I try to pull it out. If the rear CCV line is clear and functioning properly, and you are still getting blow-by into the air filter, does that necessarily indicate a serious issue?
  15. I drove mine to work. This weekend I'll be picking up some new wheels; and I'm looking for some new tires, too.
  16. Wow, you must make a crap-ton of $$$. I don't suppose you live anywhere in the southeast?

  18. That seems strange to me - it's not like the hardware itself is overly complicated. I'll test the wiring at the hardware, too, and make sure that it's even getting power before I start replacing it.
  19. That's a bummer. Is it the light hardware itself, or the wiring to the light?
  20. No, they don't work. I got a set of bulbs that look like the original one I pulled out (it says "made in france) but did not work. I'll need to check the wiring and see if it's hooked up still, and make sure it's in good condition.
  21. What lightbulb is the correct one for that application? I looked it up in the lightbulb book at the store, but of course there's no "B Pillar" column. Would those just be courtesy lights or something?
  22. Whoa. $6,000 is like 1/5 of my salary.
  23. I see a lot of you guys have gotten your truck repainted. I'd like to do mine at some point and get it lookin' good again. Naturally, I have questions: 1. Where'd you take it? 2. How much did it cost? 3. What did the price include? Of course, I'd want something good that is going to last but not have it look like butt.
  24. Ah, good ole Crutchfield. Always have what ya need. I'll keep an eye out for ZJs next time I hit the PaP. The panels that cover the hole that the speakers sit in are already broken and siliconed back into place. Will a 4x6 fit in that spot pretty easy? I assume you just remove the 4x6 plate and the new speaker should just pop right in.
