  1. Ok, so with a week left to go, should I bring anything besides a set of hands? I mean beer/food/otherstuff? My b-day is the third, so I might bring some celebratory brews. Rob L.
  2. What's going on with this? Is the knuckle welded to the axle tube? Willy X2.... How'd they keep the knuckle solid? Rob L.
  3. :rotfl2: :rotf: :rotfl2: :rotf: Even though shelbyluvv deleted the rest of this, its still funny. Rob L.
  4. I like mine. I have a '98 4.0L Auto NP249. So far the only complaint I have is the Xfer case, and the axles. I did a front bearing/seal kit, and the rear now needs it. I hear its common. That and the viscus clutch is locked, can't be helping the bearing out that much. I do get 18-20 MPG, and it seems like a ZJ of the same vintage of an XJ, the ZJ will be cheaper. Rob L.
  5. Same here Pat. If you need help with anything... I'm here too. Rob L.
  6. I have to disagree. Pat was and still IS a valuable part of this board. He has knowlage of many comanche topics, made his own builds and helped out many others. If you really think about it, with all the dealings Pat has had here with buying and selling parts over the course of time, I would say he has a pretty good track record. Its not like we hear this once a week from different people. Pat has tremendously slipped on payment to mjdriver. It is what it is. Probably took a I'll deal with it later, later, later, kind of attitude. He knows that mjdriver won't back down, and thats good. It seems like pat IS going to take a step to rectify things, and even offered for mj to take it out of his paypal, and pat would deal with it. Please lets move on. Pat hasn't paid, we know it, he knows it, hopefully things will be corrected. I don't think he should be banned. Rob L.
  7. Thanks Don. Just got back from power lines down in a tree. We are borrowing a back-up engine from a town over, and theirs is a pile. I got stuck in the jump seats in that one. Picture riding window side on a bench seat, but in the middle there is an angry, loud, 3,000 lb diesel just dieing to throw a rod straight through the diamond plate. I think the engine is from '83. It gets the job done, but our normal stuff is a little nicer than most. :brows: got to go. Car fire Robl.
  8. Yeah, we hire (for something unbeknowst reason to me) people with absolutely no-common sense. In the past week: I had to replace a trailer jack the other day because they cranked it down so far that it came out of the screw mech. All they had to do was drop the pin and lower the foot, THEN jack the trailer up. A guy who has been working there for 5 years got on a familiar gang-mower, picture a tractor towing 3 7 foot decks to make up 18 foot swath, and lifted the side decks to transport mode with the PTO on. Long story short, PTO shafts don't work at a 90* angle. That one cost $800. Someone didn't put the parking brake on the 35,000 lb front end loader on a hill, and it rolled straight into the back of the pickup I had just re-sprayed the tailgate on from the last accident. That one wasn't pretty. I replaced $1,200 worth of spindle bearings, pulleys, gearbox, PTO shaft, and belts on a 1 year old mower, because they entrusted part-time burnout summer help to grease the mower before use. :fs1: Why? $0.40 of grease would have saved a headache. I have more stories in the past week, but the more I write, the more pissed I get. And since I am on call for FD, it can't be miller time just yet. Rob L.
  9. I agree with this one. I did a guy at work a favor and sold him an XJ I had for what I had into it. I told him what was wrong with it, and told him it needs work but would start, drive, and reach any destination. 1 week later, he was whining. I WILL NOT do any big jobs for people I know unless they understand things. I once had someone want me to put in a fuel pump they got in a junkyard out of a '95 van. I bet you can guess where I told him to stick that fuel pump. :brows: Better believe I put in a new one. ;) Rob L.
  10. On the bright side, I am no longer in the plow. On the dark side, I have to fix them now when they come in broken, oiliy, cold, wet, and salty. :ack: And let me tell you, NOTHING comes off those things with out a torch. NOTHING. :fs1: I keep thinking to myself, one day I will have to resort to the torch to remove a wiper blade. Rob L.
  11. Yeah, last I heard, he had to have someone put his tailgate on his truck for him. Rumors true. I do hope you guys can work something out though. Rob L.
  12. I know its been a long time, and Not to make excuses for him, but he's layed up from surgery as of the moment. Still recovering. Rob L.
  13. X2. I love the composite toe because it doesn't freeze your digits in the winter. The steel seems to retain the cold and refridgerate my dogs. And when your driving a relic of a dumptruck as a plow, the floor vents aren't that great. Rob L.
  14. Nah, just a closet XJ stripper. Rob L.
  15. From what I also hear, they just source out most parts. I saw some pics in some of their other kits that were skyjacker arms. I think I am definately going to consider them as an option. Rob L.
  16. front AND rear control arms? I think what they are trying to say is they are adjustable at the front joint of the arm, and the rear joint... maybe they adjust out both ways... Like a bi-curious control arm.... :brows: . :dunno: Rob L.
  17. Anyone have an opinion on the Hell creek stuff? Just read some of his stuff in tech, seems like they know most of what they are talking about. Looked on their site, and they make a 6" kit for an MJ, seems reasonable on price. Even has adjustable arms. What it says: "This kit includes: Front coils, rear spring plate, pwr steering pitman arm, front adjustable track bar, quick disconnect sway bar links, front & rear adjustable upper & lower control arms, transfer case drop kit, brake line drop brackets, rear shackles, Hydro shocks, & rear U-bolts (you must choose either 2 3/4" or 3" below). " $899.95 Stuff I wonder about here... Drop brackets? Not listed... Drop pitman? Didn't think those worked well on our trucks... Just looking to get some input, without putting them under the scruitiny of the whole board. Again, seem to be knowlegeable, comes with adj arms, and the price is a little better than RE. Plus, if I help a small company out by buying their stuff and running it, . Thanks fellas, Rob L.
  18. Ok. Rob L. :D
  19. when the stippers arrive? :dunno: You guys are the strippers. God darn sausage fest... :fs1: Rob L.
  20. Wow, nice work in the background pete. Rob L.
  21. Pat, you coming for moral support? Rob L.
  22. Oh, by the way, what time do we all want to kick this schindig off? Rob L.
  23. Saweet. I think thats all I really want. Just some stuff to knock out some rust... Rob L.
  24. What a drag dude. :fs1: Any way to notch it and get some hotwrench back there? (torch) Rob L.
  25. So we are just cutting it up then? If it a 2 door like I think it is? I would like to get the rear wheel wells for the rusted out junk in my driveway. But I'm not keeping my fingers crossed because this XJ is from WI. Rob L.
