  1. I am having trouble finding my axle bearing kit in the loacl parts stores... I think I found what I need on randys ring and pinion, but wanted to just pick one up around here, dealer (last option), or parts store... The local parts guy (who used to work at the chrysler plant) told me Jeep has a patent on the Dana 44 with the aluminum housing, and that it was a dealer part only... I don't know, I know we have some Mopar parts guys here, and wanted to make sure I am getting the right stuff. What you need to know... Axle is out of a '98 ZJ, 5.2L. Open carrier, D44 with the aluminum center section. 3.73 gears. According to Randys R&P, this is what I have, and the kit I need... http://www.ringpinion.com/DiffDetails.a ... iffID%3d16 http://www.ringpinion.com/ProductDetail ... rodID=3470 Anyone know if I can get the kit from a parts store, or will I have to order it online? Thanks in advance, Rob L.
  2. :agree: Check for coolant dripping out of the footwell vents, and look for an oily film on the window above the defrost. Rob L.
  3. AAAAARG! I ASSumed the master fluid levels had been checked already. Note to self: DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING! Don, just an oversight... He did say he checked it... Don't beat yerself up. I think he's got it now... Rob L. No love for me Don? :dunno: Rob L. :D
  4. No prob man... Just scored a cargo light myself from JeepcoMJ, so I will be doing the same thing! That black part with the symbols just peels right off. Thats really all you need. You can use a switch from any ol' XJ/MJ... Just peel it off and go! Rob L.
  5. Thats fine... What I am going to do, as well as other have, since its so hard to find the fog light AND cargo light in one panel, just get the housing, peel off the faces, and cut them down the middle... Then you can turn a fog light only, and cargo light only bezel into a cargo AND fog light panel, with only a small seam down the middle, where the two sides meet... This is an ultra rare "both", but you get the point... Rob L.
  6. Did he hack up the half that included the cargo light switch... I would just grab it anyway... chances of finding a mint one are slim.. All you really need anyway is the switch housing cover, should peel off. Rob L.
  7. Have you checked craigslist or the junkyards? The yards are unusually full because of the cahs for clunkers... and check car-part.com Rob L.
  8. Got it: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1230&p=55238&hilit=fuel+pump+cradle#p55238  Rob L.
  9. That is the body around the pump... The "framework" more or less. The pump is only the cylindrical thing on the end. You can remove it from that "framework" and put the new on in its place... There was a pic of someone who did this not that long ago. I am going to search for it, but if anyone else has it off hand, how about helping a brother out? Rob L.
  10. You can't get a "new" MJ carrier... The pump is the same between them, so just take the new pump out of the XJ cradle, and put it into the old MJ cradle. Then install. Hopefully you kept the old cradle... ;) Rob L.
  11. Other boxes have been done... Nothing will just "bolt on" but an MJ bed. They are decently easy to find, especially since you have a shortbed. Were are you located? And congrats on the first post! Welcome! Rob L.
  12. AAAAARG! I ASSumed the master fluid levels had been checked already. Note to self: DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING! Don, just an oversight... He did say he checked it... Don't beat yerself up. I think he's got it now... Rob L.
  13. If you ordered one from a parts store, its wrong. They give you a cherokee pump, which is in the wonrg carrier... It won't fit. You have to use the stock MJ pump carrier and sender... Is that it? Rob L.
  14. Def. thought about it once upon a time... But I just pictured myself wrapped up in a crinkled decal, like a cacoon, motionless and yelling in the bed of my MJ, with torn wrinkled remants of an epic fail of a decal installation. :shake: Rob L. :D
  15. If that be the case... Your leaking. One res is for front, one for rear. Fill the empty res, and start pumping, you will find your problem REAL quick. ;) Rob L.
  16. WFC's WFC... :dunno: Rob L.
  17. That is what we like to hear!!!!! Congrats!!!! Rob L.
  18. And no loss of fluid? Essh. Might have had an internal master cylinder failure. Sure the pedal linkage is still connected? Might as well start with the simple stuff... Rob L.
  19. Best thing to do is find an XJ/MJ donor, to just pull parts off of... Look for something with the AX4/5 and the NP231. You can bolt up a t-case to your trans, but not without pulling it apart, changing the output shaft, and tailhousing. Might as well get a 4wd trans. You'll want to find a 4x4 XJ/MJ front axle out of a 4wd 2.5L also, as you have the lesser common 4.10 gear in back... Most likely... Jeep stuff is NEVER set in stone. Rob L.
  20. Is it hard like it would be if you had the truck off? Rob L.

    Just for Fun?

Spend a good amount of time on this:  At the local waterfights: Rob L.
  22. I like the idea with the wildland fire truck... I often dream about finding a "service body" for a comanche, and putting it on. Having room for all my tools on my truck... And I would be happy to check out your bed, it can't be any worse than mine already is. Rob L.
  23. Ok  Thats better. Now that we know what you are looking for, maybe if someone remembers, they can throw out a name. Rob L.
  24. I also, vote save... Seems like it would be cake to complete, and make a runner out of. And if you don't want it, use the money made by selling it to finance some new stuff for your MJ. Rob L.
  25. Ok, maybe explain the back story here, and this can stay... There is no member UNOH, so what are you looking for? Rob L.
