The more I look at it, the more I am convinced that picture has been altered is a few different ways. I think the front end is chrome, which the tinted in photoshop. The front axle was blatantly blacked out and the driver side brake rotor is just off. I am also not convinced the bed is real, the lines and reflections don't flow quite right. Maybe the kid at RE tried to touch up their truck a little too much. What bugs me most about the pre-runner stlye, is the massive front fender opening and the small, much lower rear fender opening. But like I said earlier, if this thing is really out there and running around, it is a good sign for the MJ crowd. Maybe we will get a variety of parts to pick from when building, repairing, or restoring a truck.

Jim, My GPSmap 60c is what Garmin replaced when it broke after 7 years. A good solid unit. Image Not Found Depending on your model, you may be able to install the navigation program so it would work like those road style units.

Thank you! :wrench: This is the first blaster I have ever used or owned. It is pretty neat and works well for $60. The media I am using from Tractor Supply is only $8 for a 50lb bag. I will be recycling and reusing the media this weekend. I expect to get at least 2 uses out of it. There are some commercial outfits that sell blast media in bulk around KC, but according to the sales reps, they don't like to sell to individuals. For anybody thinking about buying or using a blaster, be sure to get a moisture filter. Even in the dead of winter, the filter captured a 1/2 cup of water in 4 hours.

I would say you could get the parts pulled in 2 days and be in good shape. Of course it helps that I have pulled and reinstalled many of the parts several times. I think I could do it with my eyes shut. You are best off with the Jeep sitting there. It will make is sooooo much easier when cutting brackets and measuring holes in the MJ to match the XJ stuff.

It looks funny. Are there any more pictures? . None the less, it is kind of nice (and scary) that bigger companies are taking a look at the MJ as something serious.

The truck saw the light of day for the first time in over a year today. It was quite exciting to just move it around, after filling a flattened tire. BTW- I really like how it sits with no weight. From my calculations, this would be a 2-3" lift. Started to blast with my new Harbor Freight 20lb blaster and Black Diamond media from Tractor Supply. This is how it started: It took awhile to get the blaster setup and working correctly. Used up the two bags of media and almost got the rear frame rails cleaned up. The undercoating was tough/slow going, but the Black Diamond media cut through it with two passes. I need to get more of the media and finish up the rear frame rails, under the cab and engine bay. The finish: This was my first pass, with the smallest nozzle so it is a little splotchy: The finish should react well with the POR15 3-step paint process. It is a very lightly etched surface that is smooth to the touch.

Pete - I would do bbbbbbaaaaaddddd things to get a high quality scan of that first poster. Very cool. Any copy shop should have a wide format scanner that you could use to scan and save the image to a flash drive. Stay away from chain stores as they may freak with the Jeep name on there. Lost - I would also be willing to try and patch your ripped poster together in photoshop, if you could get the two halves scanned. Then you would just need to get it printed.

Beautiful truck! There is obviously a lot of work that has gone into it. The waggy front ends just don't do it for me, but I won't nit-pick that beautiful truck. [the above post was assembled by a young, tasteless, member]

It is hard to go wrong with Garmin. Not only are their maps and routing the best I have used, their customer service ranks right up there. Selecting a model boils down to figuring out what you want out of it. Car only? Only roads? What about topo maps? Will you want to carry it with you when hiking or biking? Do you want it to avoid the traffic jambs while in the city? What about being waterproof? I have an old basic handheld GPS. After 7 years of abuse one of the battery spring clips broke. I sent it in for repair and they sent me a brand new unit, still in the box. My now 3 year old replacement still comes along with me on Jeepin adventures. My wife has a very basis car Garmin she got from a bank rewards program. The battery is only good for an hour or two, but that has not been a problem as it comes with the 12v adapter and windshield mount.

My wife agrees with you :wrench:

I am having another snowday for work today (even though I tried to go) and started watching "The Dukes of Hazard Reunion" on CMT. I looked up and noticed a dark blue/black MJ with silver Jeep stickers. Check it out at 1:43. JCnmyT7OH9g Image Not Found

Way more creative than any new mainstream truck commercial. Anybody remember that Chevy Tracker commercial from the late 90s? "Can a Tracker tow a semi?" "Nahhh. Read owners manual"

Blaster is assembled and I plumbed in a moisture filter. Plan on blasting Saturday followed then apply a healthy dose of Marine Clean and Metal Ready to get that coating POR15 loves. I need some suggestions regarding the most efficient way to blast the MJ. My tentative plan is to start with the rear frame rails then move to the engine bay and lower firewall, followed by the under carriage and floor pans. Hope to put the front tires on ramps to get the truck sitting at an angle, on a clean tarp. I will bring a cleaned shopvac to try and recycle some of the media. The truck sit as an empty shell on the stock axles and suspension. I plan to pull and rebuild all suspension components as part of my build, as well as install new D44's. I will wrap the axle vents with duct tape as well as the brake drum inlets and power steering box. Any other words or wisdom?

Welcome! You would be correct. The black interior is quite rare.

can you get me a direct link, I need a hitch. It is for the FRONT...

My biggest complaint about coils is that they don't take a lot of extra weight very good. My TJ squats like a dog when loaded up with crap. You would loose much of the MJs payload capacity with coils, unless you wanted to bag it and install a swaybar. On a trail rig a properly set up 4link performs nothing like leaf springs. I suspect you could adapt a weld on TJ long arm kit (such as Clayton) to work on the MJ. Instead of dealing coil buckets, why not consider coilovers?

Return of the Grand Wagoneer.......and Jeep Pickup, sorta

Let's not throw hate toward Fiat. Afterall, it was Renault that got the XJ here. Plus, its been 5 years since that Gladiator concept truck was born. I aint holding my breath. -
I will just cut them with a rusty piece of floor pan and hope they didn't get a tetanus shot in the last 10 years. I'll pass on any suspicious behavior.

Those "models" are at least 14" long and attach to a $300 RC car.... but if its in the wedding budget....

Pictures are a must, I will be sure to get plenty. Although I doubt my wife will let me borrow her fancy Nikon during the blasting :shake: I will be doing this on Saturday.

Reckless driving, but at least he did not ram things or jump it. I can guarantee folks here drive their trucks harder...

Whoops, I must have misunderstood the post. Unfortunately the shop could claim you smashed the bracket and zerk because the work was done over a month ago. I would still take the damaged parts to the shop and demand some sort or reimbursement. Tell them the loose fitting caused DW in a school zone with kids present. I would probably skip the monkey who did the work and go straight to the manager or owner with the concern.

You shouldn't need an alignment if the previous trackbar was set at the correct length and you got the brackets in the right spot. I usually take it to a tire shop for an alignment, the homebrew method doesn't seem nearly accurate enough for me. Used to have a favorite tire shop up to 3 or 4 years ago. I mean they were my go to place for all tires and alignment. One day I go in to get my TJ aligned, while at it wanted them to stick a V8 ZJ tierod on. The guy doing the work called me to the bay because the tie rods were different. Yes they are, one is bigger around with adjustment in a different place. I hold it to the Jeep and explain how it mounts (very basic btw). I leave and get a call 3 hours later that it is to big. I pick up the Jeep and they try to KEEP my ZJ stuff. Rent a puller from Autozone and install it in their parking lot. Take it back to get an alignment and the guy wants to know why I need an alignment, explain that I installed the tierod in the autozone parking lot. That was the last time I was there. My younger sister went there to get tires for her Mazda 3. The beads leak air and it has been in 4 times. I drive 1.5 hrs to my new tire shop. Have not yet been let down and am surprised they remember my rig when I come in.
