yea but, running 36s with 4.88s to get the stock speedo reading isnt so good.. then its like running stock gears with little tires... you need gearing/torque for wheelin ? i don't follow, running 35s with 4.88s would be similar to running stock gears and little tires... 4.88 and 36 would be just like stock... but if the gear is slightly deeper than the size tire you went with (4.88/35) then you have more torque for wheelin right?

just a thought, i saw a construction vehicle parked yesterday and noticed the tie-rod ran BEHIND the tubes. would that be possible on a rig like yours? seems like it'd be nice and protected -

the volvo shop up the street (bro used to own a volvo and built a good relationship with them) has built 3 volvo stationwagon (late80s boxy body style) 5.0s, one of them has 100k miles on it SINCE the swap... the other one has full custom exhaust/headers, thick swaybars upgraded suspension and nice rubbers... that one's a suprise :brows: -
the stock XJ/MJ gauge cluster is perfect man, what else do you need? maybe an amperage meter and tranny temp added somewhere but you run a standard so stock gauges

I'm a ford guy all the way, i HATE the dodge front clips to much to think about buying one... but the cummins is hands down best engine in the class. round here it seems every old truck is a ford, a handful of old chevys but not nearly as many as the fords. i read a car and driver (iirc) report on the 05 F250, 2500 cumins, 2500 duramax, the dodge was quietest inside and had most power yet the for weighed more than both and made less power but towed best and 0-60 fastest :dunno: gotta love the blue oval (that said the only two trucks in the fam are toy and jeep ;) ) did some digging on google... amazing what a few well placed searches can find you this is the exact article i mentioned if you care to read http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/pickup/163_0409_2004_truck_comparisons/

the rock garden looks like crawfords, thats where we stayed 2 yrs ago, its nice -
F-150 springs are too stiff for our lightweight trucks. mercury cougar or thundrebird springs apparently have about the right spring rate and give ~3 inches IIRC, somebody actually did it a while back so they could tell you the exact years to look at cause I'm not that sure

hell yeah i love it how it is.. just hope theres not a 4.0 tryin to pull that beast around
