ouCH... i was kinda like.. he doesnt wash that thing out?
luckily our local places are close enough that we can leave and go back for food breaks and such. actually got to use the winch for real today not just playin around with it.
dirty,
if i were you id find a good high pressure spray (insert quarter and play) type car wash by your house and blast all that off right after each playsession. my brother killed his first Alt from mud, and we learned quick that sprayin eveerything off after makes life much easier... (especially keeping mud from fallin in your eyes when you're taking the last bolt off a t-case thats comin at ya :brows: )
i would ask what a 4bt is but i know right after i post this I'm gonna go google it. so I'm not gonna ask.
is an AX5 rated for that kind of power? i guess it has to be or noone would make a kit for it... i thought that was the "dinky" 4cyl tranny?
tranny in that truck is useless for a v8... it should be a BA10 as long as it hasnt been swapped already. the BA10 is a puegeot commonly referred to as the puke-goat which kind of sums up its performance behind the stock engines. AX15s however would work fine if someone has swapped one in there already.
alto of people use modine 3-cores, I'm sure their is a more highperformance swap considering these things can't cool themselves easily. (these things=4.0liters.)
my brother went to the autoparts place and they gave him one that puts out 160A... thats been maybe a year now. optima battery and that we were runnin the winch, headlights, and aux fan earlier.
don't know if that helps you (1990 XJ, renix)
I've had a girl at a local vinyl shop recreate the Sportruck stripe, she said make the stripe and appy it for around 150.00
logged in finally
well damn. i need to get that done!
where in GA is her shop?
i think its time we call a counselor and have sit down session with some of the guys... i think some of our wrenching problems need to be faced, and dealt with.
:brows:
agreeed. i wish they would give me run of the place forlike a week. call it JeepYard week. or somethin. (and allow me to bring jacks and my truck in the gate.) you could make a sick rig with the stuff in there if you had the time!
picked up a 4x4 manual 4.0liter with no rust (knock on wood) in north GA for 1400. yeah its got the pukegoat but hey. its got whatcha need. just look around. this forum gets a LOT of FS ads for comanches.
check for solid floorpans, seem to be what everyone hates bout their manches.
ive got a shortbed and i DEFinately notice the difference in length from driving my mom/brothers XJ's wayy longer. i think either way you're gonna notice the difference.
Oh great, there goes our kid-friendly image...
i think I'm bout the youngest one on the forum, and trust me pete... i don't mind. ;)

your best bet would be to pull out the gauge bezel and look to see if the screws can be accessed that way. i would imagine thats where they are.
not sure but the gauge bezel is easy enough to pull.
k&ns claim to be more or less waterproof so i don't think mud from a fan is anythign to worry about with them. (but thats not to say they can breathe underwater)
