thats gotta be a PITA for the clutch!! NICE mj though. somewhat better condition than the motherof all rust ebay MJ.. remember that? "rare special edition comanche"!
-
havent gotten any updated pics since the night i bought it so here goes.. also a short video of a shot u-joint.. WOW  note the comanche bedliner in the following pic thanks to jbhill 8) the video is a little crappy, but you can see how bad the front right u-joint is. I'm rotating the pinion ( front shaft pulled to protect myself from sporadic HEY LETS GO WHEELIN trips. cause i don't want that to blow completely) oh and one really humorous sticker on my EX-factory radiator...

i did the five-o injectors not to boost HP but because mine were spraying more OUT than IN the cylinder... which causes all sorts of problems. like fireballMJs. (at least id have a cool username :brows: ) but yeah IIRC the 5.0 injectors cost alot less than the renix ones. (HO injectors were dirt cheap the renix i found were not)

no, i had been told by the 4x4 shop owner up the street that XJ/MJ's are supposed to be toed IN 1/4" and that only 242t-case XJ/MJ's were supposed to be dead on. therefore 1/4" toed OUT would be 1/2" away from 1/4" IN... that make more sense? and we got new steering put on my brothers XJ (one ton) and the shop didnt have the tools to do alignments and we drove it a total of 2 1/2 miles home and it wobbled worse than anything ive ever seen in my entire life, only stopped when he slowed to 25- mph. do a DIY alignment and the wobble was gone... soooo thats what led me to beleive that wobbles can be caused by out of alignment.

COUGH SPUTTER where the HEll do you live that girls are named SCOTT? sheesh i though I lived close to alabama. Yeah.... girls named Scott? Did she have an Adams apple? :D Actually I know a girl named Scottie... they used to call her Scottie the Hottie when we were younger... Have not seen her in years.... They again I live near West Virginia... and occasionally when in the southern Appalachain Mountains paddling I hear banjo music... I always paddle faster then!! :rotfl2:  :teehee: I'm origional from WV it is a tad bit country up there huh? -
i think for the front axle the whole vacuum disconnect thign could play as an advantage for you. if you put in a posi-lock kit for it (uses a cable to insure lock instead of the stock vacuum) for mabye 100something, then weld the carrier you can drive it and they will still act as if the diff is open as long as you don't engage the axle you shouldnt even be able to tell right? just my .02

thats how mine came... i think someone refered to them as the "flag" style mirrors... are they offset as well? further back on the drivers side than on the passenger? edit: XJ style mirrors with the inside adjusters or not should swap right in, someone on here has done it and has pics.

well mine tracks fine, no problems there, and I'm not lifted so i think the stock CA's should be doing fine with the caster and stuff. but a 1/4" toed OUT is a 1/2" off in toe not 1/4 and from what ive heard that definately can cause problems? it won't see trails for a while until i can borrow my brothers tools and get the u-joints fixed... DD

that tool will allow you to go in through the tiny opening between the door and the 1/4 panel and get at the bolts that hold the hinges to the door. allowing you to remove the door. (I'm assuming its a royal PITA to get it off without this...)

not sure how to tell from the papers but.. you could snap a pic and most of us could tell you offhand what it is. my chiltons has a guide on how to tell. -
they must love drivin straight to have a locked D35 front axle :nanner: ive only seen a couple down here... one huge lifted competition orange one, and a mint condition midnight blue one.
-
its cool to see the resemblance from the J10s to MJs... hard to tell them apart in some pics. just like the no animals were harmed during the making of this movie line.. there should be a no rare-jeeps were harmed during the making of this film, in order to console the minds of us heeplovers.

...kia trucks? cool site man!
-
there was a really good thread on it a while back someone drew a pic of how to do it. and they discussed the easiest way to get the door off in the first place. lets see if i can find it... http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... able+doors
-
is it worth it to take the ole truck to the shop for an alignment? 70 bucks is a mighty hefty charge to loosen a couple bolts and turn a couple rods don't ya think? (i think mine might be toed out 1/4" which would be the culprit of some wobble-ation) orr should i just do it myself with the tape measure and "good-enough" it

my brother bought jcroffroads 1-ton XJ steering (D30) and had to have his knuckles reamed. (thats from a chevy 2500)
-
bummer, that'd be real cool for those late night fixes where unexpected stuff goes wrong. but of course, none of us ever have stuff go wrong... :redX:

how much backspacing do your rims have? w (that thing sits perfectly level! )
-
i still wanna see a video of that thing taking off. just so you know.

my manche is already the scourge of highschool :brows: :brows: but most of the snobby rich folk in my area tend to think of it as more of a "eyesore" of the parking lot.
