    Thank you. :USAflag:
  3. jimoshel, I'm rooting for you!
  4. People do win the lottery......
  5. That old Pete has got to be one of the coolest trucks I've ever seen. Oh yeah, I was a trucker at one time!
  6. 33's and 456's all day long ..... x2
  7. Check this out: http://jeeptalk.org/gear_chart.php According to the chart: 4.10s = better gas mileage (I think BS) = less overall "power" IMHO you would need at a minimum 4.56s or 4.88s. Myself, in one of my trucks I'm gonna be running 31 10s with 4.10s. In the other truck I will be running 4.56s with 33s. Oh yeah, welcome to CC.
  8. I wouldn't even try to diagnose a oil pressure issue with a Fram filter in place. Doing away with the Fram eliminates a major possible culprit to some of your oiling situation.
  9. I got a set you can have for $20 bucks plus shipping.
  10. Ditch the FRAM filter immediately! There are many threads on this board as to why. Don't let your Jeep become a statistic. :fs1:
  11. Not sure about the size of the nut on the fitting, but I try and make it a point to never put a regular wrench on a flare nut. There are special flare nut wrench sets for these. Lots of places a good set can be used, clutch and brake lines, fuel lines and filters etc. I bought a Craftsman set of six, had the most basic metric and SAE sizes. I would try to fix by tightening with the proper wrench. You are sure that it is not somehow cross threaded? If that is a no go, then take the line back off, inspect and reinstall. If that still doesn't fix it, I'd claim a defective part, request a replacement.
  12. Rob, If it isn't too much hassle, probably should grab it. Let me know, Ed
  13. Do you still have this item? And can you send me some pictures? John Jackson I'm not sure what your asking, but I am the OP of this post. This is my Searching/wanted to buy post. Still havent found the panel that I'm looking for.
  14. It's been a while since Ive last updated on this truck. I put 31 10 Treadwrights on it and as expected I turned it into a cool looking dog. The gear ratio immediately became unbearable. I knew that if I continued to run it this way, I would eventually need a clutch. Exploder Donor Image Not Found Paid my nephew to pull the turdy five. Prepping the 8.8 for new gears and installation The plan is to reuse the existing spring perches, hubcentric wheel spacers (so I can run the jeep wheels I have) weld shock mounts to the axle. Use the DS I had fabbed for the other truck. While the truck is down, I'm also going to do an AX15 swap (with new clutch assy). I really don't want the Goat making up its own mind on when it is going to fail. For the front axle, I'm taking the D30 out of the XJ (recently stripped-as seen in the photos) rebuild the center section. Put the axles out of the existing axle in it (they're already rebuilt). Then that axle will be regeared with 4.56s, larger one piece axles and a Lock-Right for the 87.
  15. My understanding is that the oil pressure and temp sending units work by applying variable resistance to ground, therefore if you disconnect the wire at the sending unit, put it to ground, the needle should peg, indicating your gauge is working.
  16. Main grounds to check: Batt - Batt to block - block to body.
  17. I trimmed the connector to fit the recess easier, also bent the contact tabs out a little for more consistent contact. Possibly dead replacement cluster? But overall it should work without problems, and check your fuses and grounds.
  18. My rear slider went in with a rubber gasket. My friends slider went in without. It was made by a different manufacturer. Both types of windows are really held in and sealed with urethane auto glass adhesive/sealant. If you had to, you could use glass setting blocks, they go on the bottom to keep the glass centered. then install the glass without the gasket. After all the gasket is purely aesthetic. This is what I was going to do. Then I was going to use more urethane to fill the gap, possibly mask off and paint a black "frame" for a finished look. What about has anybody ever took a look at the front rubber "gasket" as used on newer XJs to be used as a pseudo backglass gasket?
  19. I would sure love to see some video-sight-Sound of this baby making a pass. Hint hint........ Couldn't find anything on a short search.
  20. You reply to posts like this :rotf: :rotf:
  21. :shake: Freak, I was wondering what happened to you, haven't heard from you in awhile. Sorry to have heard from you in this way.
  22. Freak, Sorry to hear about that. If you don't mind Id like to share a little wisdom that I've learned through the years. Good always comes after bad. Makes us appreciate what we have. Anybody who gets up every morning (11:59 AM doesn't count) can find a job. If they have a car, and a phone their chances are greatly increased. Where I am from, a lot of people say they can't find a job. What they are really saying is they can't find a job that they want. Either because it doesn't pay enough or it isn't cool to scrub a toilet or swing a mop. A wise man once told me that "any job that a man does with integrity, is a good job." It's hard to be humble, I know from experience. Nearly five years ago I went from 80K+ a year, to working at a convenience store in our little town (pop. about 3,000) seeing my old coworkers........now that was tough. I got through it because I believed what I was taught, live a spiritual life (not religious-for me) I got up early every morning and kept trying. Today I am in my second year of college on the way to being a CD counselor. The people who gain the most, are the ones who keep trying. I know you live up North, but around here, the only reason that you can be let go without cause is if you are a probationary employee. Employers have been known to do just what they did to you to keep from having to give you full employee status. Peace
  23. Too bad it doesn't have an "MJ" to go with it.
  24. ......Somewhere, somehow, everywhere you go, the MJs are in the back of your mind.... ......Subconsciously you are always asking yourself, what if I did........
