I kept the threads the same however I am pretty sure I rotated the housing didnt swap anything though. My memory is not to good anymore I can go check if no one else knows. I will go out and get a picture for ya if it would help.

I didnt notice the sitting part sorry. Also what about where the cooler lines go into the tranny they have those crappy quick disconnect fittings I have had them drip to when sitting. Theres a write up some where on the net about taking them out and using direct fit brass fittings I do know there metric threads.

O ring on tube or breather from the transfercase blowing it out?

Nice score, clean XJ`s are getting hard to find with low miles. I just picked up A 01XJ sport with 79,000 on it looks about the same old guy had it cracked head he kept driving it after overheating. I was hoping just a head would fix it not this time he even melted the pistons. I think he added some block seal or something as the oil was 2 inches think in the bottom pump was clogged had to scrape it out. Was a shame to junk suck a low mile engine but after looking inside thats where it went.

I thought all they used to seal them was that glue? at least for our MJ's I've read the newer XJ's have a seal but you have to eliminate the trim :dunno: Not sure about that mine were done on other cars no MJ`s did have a few newer cherokess done.

I have had several windsheilds put in over the years and most all had to be redone and these were done by glass companys. Make sure they use new seals.

WOW thats nice don't TOUCH IT maintain it well put it away from the salt or sell it to some one who will. These are getting pricey right now in 10 years that thing will be $$$$.

I did this fix and it was well worth it I tried all the fix`s for my old one above and it still pushed oil out BAD. I ordered one off ebay from a factory 2000 4.0 from a cherokee worked great has been on for years. The newer ones have a baffle in them the whole length. You have to do some changes in the plumbing I can get a pic of mine if it will help you.

Surplus city in Bellwood pa I think they have a store in Maryland also they do sell paint and supplys there quite cheap. Not sure where your from but regardless do some pricing on paint there can be a HUGE difference. I will see if I can find the can and manufacturer so you can see who sells it in your area.

The flash red I used (if you like it) was well under $200.00 for a gallon of single stage acrylic. It was the lower end of the paint brands also the first one I ever did so I didnt want to spend a ton on paint.

I am going to have to check more places on prices. A friend nearby me was told 375.00 for a silverado no way am I paying that. If I can find 100-150 I would just let a shop do it.

Just bought a 2001 XJ with power locks and looking for advise on the skill level needed to install one and what brand to get?

I have used them a couple of times no issues yet got mine from the same seller on Ebay. Advance auto and others sell the same china radiator and charge twice the price.
