  1. Here's another question. With an XJ, what rear springs would you use to go with the cc784 coils.
  2. Idle air control motor on the throttle body acting up.
  3. Need a lot more details. size of trailer, make, you know, the pertinent details.
  4. The 1/2 tons were internal hubs. The Dana 44 HD had external hubs until 1976.5. I have the drum brake version of it and a buddy of mine has the disc brake version. That's what that axle is. It has warn aftermarket hubs on it. The ford F250 up to the 1977.5 had the same style lockouts but it was on a low pinion driver side drop. With closed knuckles.
  5. I think I have it figured out. That's a GM Dana 44 from 73-76.5. 77 and later has internal lockouts.
  6. On rockauto look under 1990 Cherokee. You'll find the moog CC784's. $55.79 For me the shipping was about $20.
  7. Moog CC784's are for sale on rockauto for $56 plus shipping for a pair. Can't beat that price. Not going to find even spacers for much less than that. Hell, I might get a set myself.
  8. Went to rock auto. Yes there are single and dual piston calipers. But as Rockfrog says single for 2wd. Dual for awd/4wd. Also all fords were internal lockouts. All disc braked jeeps except cj's are internal lockouts. The ones that actually have hubs anyways.
  9. As far as I can tell that's a low pinion passenger side drop axle. Most 3/4 tons by any manufacturer are spring over. Except J20's External hubs usually mean Dodge or IH. Let somebody else have it. Go to www.77cj.littlekeylime.com. That will give you a wealth of Dana 44 knowledge.
  10. Only one stock MJ shackle length. 4.5" Lift is only one half of additional shackle length over previous shackle. Springs don't enter into the equation.
  11. I know driving my 92 junker around without a sway bar is scary. There is a lot of body roll.
  12. For letting air out of the head so there are no air pockets. Which lead to overheating.
  13. Check your brakes.
  14. Your going to put a 6BT in it? Are you going to stretch the nose or are you going to put a dog house in it like a van? What do you plan to do with the front suspension. You can find gauges out of similar year Cherokee's if you want to cut up a gauge without ruining yours first. OK, read your other post, 6AT cummins. I'm not familiar with them.
  15. JK wheels have a 5" on 5 bolt circle. XJ,YJ,ZJ,TJ,MJ and liberty have 4.5" on 5 bolt circle. Ford ranger wheels will work too but the center hole would need to be opened up a 32'nd.
  16. Uh, $180? My free ZJ bar will do. LoL
  17. It also handled better with the beam axle than it does with the D30 in it now. Steering was lighter with better feel.
  18. Better yet grab one off a ZJ. My 92 long bed corners really flat. Having 4" overall track width increase over stock doesn't hurt any either.
  19. Crack your faucets too so they trickle, that'll help keep them from freezing.
  20. Yes, shocks would do it too. I know the stock ones were a quite bit shorter than the replacements I put in. I'm running a ZJ sway bar with ZJ front springs with an XJ 3.5 lift spring in the rear with the eyes cut off stuffed between the main and overload springs. It handles way better than any of my stock XJ's. It's running the Goodyear GS-A 30/9.50/15's on TJ Ravines. It has plenty of room for 31's maybe 32's. There's no way I'd run it without a sway bar. My 92 short bed has no sway bar and while it does ok off road there isn't enough improvement to not run one on a daily driver. Especially with the availability of disconnects.
  21. Easy with the brakes. Hit them to hard and you don't have a car anymore, you have a toboggan.
  22. ZJ,XJ,MJ track bars and control arms are all the same. 2wd drive axles are the same except for the mid 92 and older have normal 2wd spindles and 92 and newer have the same unit bearings as the 90-98 4wd they just have a stub where the outer shaft goes. Your sway bar is probably what's limiting the travel on your front end. You need to make sure your axle is centered left to right and then see how far your track bar is off, may have to go to an adjustable one. ZJ up country springs will give you a few inches over the stock 2wd springs.
  23. That's a skid plate not all MJ's or XJ's have them. They were an option:
  24. You just take the sensor out of your 2wd transmission and put it in the transfer case.
