  2. anyone else have any input on dates before we set dates (somewhat) in stone? I know we're dealing with something 7 months out, and that alot of people (including myself) my have to change plans between now and then, but its always good to get a date on the calendar. Also, I feel that minimum rig requirments should be discussed. I'm not too worried about modifications (as long as theyre done safely and properly). My short list is recovery points front and rear, first aid kit, and at least one fire extinguisher. Thoughts?
  3. there are 118 ridges around the edge of a dime
  4. $5400 http://yuma.craigslist.org/cto/3608286679.html
  5. washing machine?! we need more info on that one!! mine has: front axle from a 1989 f350 rear axle from a 2004 chevy 2500hd master cylinder from a ford e350 transmission from a different 88MJ t-case from a YJ (i think) wheels from an H2
  6. saw this today. its putting terrible ideas in my head. i don't need another project. but imagine a crew cab MJ with a shortened bed on a one-ton frame and running gear. ugh...
  7. not to be a jerk, but shouldnt those go in here? -> http://comancheclub.com/forum/25-craigslistebayetc-ie-not-your-stuff/
  8. i havent sen this particular product, BUT a buddy of mine has the iceland fiberglass WJ bumper. I was very skeptical of a fiberglass bumper at first, but after seeing his, I'm convinced; he drags that thing all over moab and beats the hell out of it and its still in great shape. just needs paint.
  9. ok back to top, cause a wheelin buddy of mine brought up the option of a chevy k2500 aka 3/4 ton suburban. they can be had for DIRT cheap around here, and once the motor dies (id get a big block), i can swap in a cummins. its plenty of room, towing capicity is right where it needs to be and plenty of lockable storage (the entire rear cargo area). mpg would suck, but it would only be used for haulin stuff like twice a month. PLUS if the DD goes down, i have a back up. decisions decisions......
  10. taken from jeepforum:
  11. yea i just found them via another forum, and the Notch WJ flares look EXACTLY the same as the Iceland WJ flares. And i believe Iceland was located in Utah as well. i wouldnt be suprised is there was some fishy business goin on. I'm interested to hear what you find.
  12. Good lookin new fiberglass flares that are MJ specific! they look pretty good to me; might look better on a 97+ front end though. but it doesnt hurt that they have a white chief and that theyre local to me ;) http://notchcustoms....x-fender-flares
  13. ABC type is best. works on everything. The Costco by me has a pair of the smaller ones, or a single larger one for $25 right now
  14. . :MJ 1: . hell yea! lookin good! glad you posted up on here. I see your truck every now and then and love it. Youll have to come to the pow wow in Moab this fall  ill also be following your cage build closely as i need to build one before long as well. you gonna keep the roll bar?
  15. DATES ok so it looks like september is the most popular option so far in the poll. the weekends in Sept of '13 are: Sept 6-8 Sept 13-15 Sept 20-22 Sept 27-29 looking at the Moab events calendar (http://www.discovermoab.com/calendar.htm) we will be sharing the town with musicians on the first weekend, (which i believe closes down part of area BFE), artists on the 2nd weekend, cyclists and runners on the 3rd weekend, and skydivers, tourists and rug collectors on the last weekend, as well as ATV's/UTV's. thoughts? right now, i'm leaning towards, the 13th-15th, or the 20th-22nd.
  16. yea the campground that i posted towards the beginning of this thread has public restrooms and showers. I thought about having someone be incharge of reservations for everyone, but decided that itll be easier for everyone to handle their own accomidations. With people coming from all over, it'll be impossible to keep track of who will be in town when, and for how long. Also, some people like myself will want to camp, where others would rather have a more solid roof over their heads. Either way, there are plenty of options. There are campgrounds right in the middle of town, and a few that are a bit further out. Some have amenities, some don't.
  17. i'll leave the polls open for another month or so, but the length of the trip is totally up to each person. I figure we'll have an 'official' pow wow thatll last 2-3 days (most likely a friday-sunday), and those everyone will be encouraged to be there on those days, but i feel that there will be people in town both before and after the pow wow, trying to get the most out of their trip.
  18. I'm no help on location, but id say have at least 2. one within reach while in the drivers seat, and possibly one on the exterior, that way, in case one is unreachable due to the fire, the other is still close by. maybe 'hide' one under the bedrail somewhere, and the interior one could be mounted behind the seat or to the tranny cover. if you have a cage/roll bar, there are some great quick disconnect mounts you can get to fit the tube.
  19. evolution? and i though my 1.25's were beefy

  22. a blue chief?! ive never seen one! ive seen quite a few red ones, and only a handful of white ones (including my own) but NEVER a blue.
  23. yea, there is plenty of intense stuff to run, but don't feel like you need to get body damage to have fun down there. Moab is a great place to truly test the abilities of your vehicle without going overboard. However, if you want to go overboard, we can arrange for that as well, just make sure you bring a trailer ;)
