Bogging and backfiring

you can always shorten your vacume hoses a bit, over time the ends of them can get worn down and split, by shortening it a bit it will make them have a newer end to grip/seal on -

hmm if you want right now you can go to alberta, drinking age is 18 lol or if you want to make it funner by going to bc, well thats allways good xP and the drinking age is 19 so you will feel more legit :P -

could it be one of the two gas tank breather hoses that hookup to a t fitting? i had the same problem but it was stuck on empty, i connected the hose that came off and it worked fine

what the guys at lordco said was that the clutch they game me (9 11/16) was a 9 1/8 (what idiots) and then they said that my truck is a late 86 built with 87 parts in it, so I'm tihkin i have an inbred comanche, they pulled out an 87 clutch which was 9 1/8 but.... it came with an internal throwout bearing, good thing i had an external, now i need to get my new slave cyl working, only engages a 1/4 inch i need a full inch for my clutch to engage
-
for the ongest time i have been trying to bleed my slave cyl, and what happens is i get preasure when the clamp is on, take it off theres still preasure and when i put it in the bell housing i loose it all, anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking its my flex line
-
picked up my new clutch kit turns out i have an inbred comanche, it is a late 86 build that has 87 parts in it my kit came with a hydraulic throwout bearing (internal slave cyl), my transmission has an external slave cyl so they are diffrent, what do i do? i have a throwout bearing for a external, but even with my new clutch it doesnt engage, could this be a problem due to the slave cyl/throwout bearing? how do i properly bleed my slave? do i push the piston all the way in, and step on the clutch, and bleed? if not, how would i do it?

are you going to rotate your spare tire in? (the reason why i ask this is out jeep unlimited has spare tired that was supposed to be rotated in, it wasnt so now we cannot use it as a spare since there is too much difference in the tire wear)

how many litres (or gallons) of tranny fluid does an ax-4 need?
-
ok thankyou, well i got off the phone with lordco, they gave me the wrong clutch they said it happens alot, so i will be getting my actual clutch tomorow :D
-
so i have an ax-4 transmission that requires a 9 1/8 4 speed clutch?
-
my old one is 9 1/8 i belive with the 2 new clutches the bolt on but in diffrent area of my flywheel, had to turn it till it lined up, clutch was too big to engage, in the picture above it shows my old disc on the new 9 11/16 plate
-
could my transission have actually been a 5 speed? but just with a 4 speed shifter knob? that would explain why the clutch is significantly smaller, or could my transmission be a bolt in job? here is a picture so you can helo\p me id it
-
i bought one off the net, and another at lordco, one of them is duramax the the problem isnt that they don't bolt on or slide it, the clutch is over 1/2 inch too big, i took my old plate and checked, old plate to small for new plate, and both my new plates are the same size here is a pic to show what i mean

hey there, my truck is a 86 2.5 l 4 speed manche, but. i bought 2 clutches specified for that vehicle and they do not fit, what do i do? my transmission # is SF89580042500, help please
-
i honnestly believe that you should go about taking out the transmission as well, it will save you tooonnnnsssssss of grief, it will be way harder to pull the engine out by itsself, you will need to pull the tranny anyways so you can get the new engine in, or be super extremely careful and make sure you flywheen is completely straight and lined up with the shaft from the transmission, you will not save time doing it they way you want to, infact it may take longer, this is not the easy way out :P
-
i believe that it will get a great pain to not pull your transmission when you are pulling the motor, best bet is to either drop that first or... pull the tranny out with the engine, either way youll need an engine hoist or else it will be very complicated
