  1. chevys run their shackles inverted, so a longer shackle for them actually drops the truck. The important thing is that their drop shackles are a bit longer than our shackles (and have the right width and bolt size) and so will lift our trucks.
  2. I disconnected the inside lock button. that way I can't ever lock the keys inside accidentally. :D
  3. nah, I'm just not explaining the timeline properly. computer ran fine. swapped in the new (used) stuff. computer wouldn't turn back on. removed all of the things I added. still wouldn't turn on. tried a different (older) power supply (PS#2). no change. put original PS#1 back in. miraculously, holding the ON button while flipping the PS switch made it turn on. was completely normal after that. 'til the next day when it shut itself off. now it seems haunted. turns itself off for no apparent-to-me reason. sometimes won't turn back on, even after hours of being off. just now I put in the other PS (PS#2). it turned on for 1 second, then turned off. went upstairs to find a 3rd PS. came downstairs and, just for the heck of it, tried again with PS#2. works fine now. never did install that 3rd PS. so I guess now I wait until it goes crazy again. the replacement PS has some fan whine. :( but I'll ignore that until I determine that it's fixed.
  4. originally it wouldn't turn on. all I could get out of it was a twitch in the fans. that's why I swapped the power supply. just to see it it'd make a difference. it didn't so I went back to the original. but I guess it wouldn't hurt to swap in the alternate again.
  5. the colors came out a bit more vibrant than the original, but some of the detail under the truck in the shadows didn't translate well into the prints. :dunno: this is my cleaned up digi image:
  6. some of you may have seen my prior post where the stupid thing wouldn't turn on after I installed some new-to-it peripheries (2nd harddrive, wifi, USB 2.0s, replaced broken disk drive. I did all sorts of things (undid all I had done, swapped out the power supply, wiggled the wires, did a voodoo dance) but once it did kick on, it worked normal and would fire up as normal each and every time. I thought it was just a glitch... sigh. now it loves to turn itself off whenever it damn well feels like. and occasionally it won't turn back on like it should (even after sitting all night). But then it'll fire up as normal. This is just a backup 'puter. mainly used to show movies on the TV. I shouldn't care this much... but it worked JUST FINE before I touched it. grrrrrrr...... :fs1: thoughts? and before you ask, I'm all out of dynamite. I do have a sledge hammer though...
  7. price will depend on how cheap I can buy some shipping boxes. should be somewhere around 12-14 bucks shipped for a poster.
  8. wild!

    My 1St Mj

Yup, it's the brake weight-sensing proportion valve. problem is that it's supposed to be pointing the other way. The big lever should be roughly parallel to the ground. and welcome to the club! :waving:
  10. 98? I thought it was early 90s. :hmm:

    Where Are You?

how many times have you gone to court with your city over stupid stuff?

    Where Are You?

or maybe they just really, really hate their city... :dunno: like me...
  13. welcome to my world, Jim. :D
  14. it's right there in my living room. :D When I figure out what to do about shipping, y'all can have your own copy.
  15. where there's a will, there's a way. :D
  16. it took hours of work with a borrowed camera to snap a usable shot and then photoshop out as many flaws (tears, reflections, etc) as I could, but I finally have the mini-posters in my hands. :D I had lots of doubts as to how well they would turn out, but I'm very pleased.
  17. x2. there's no advantage to new ones over used ones.
  18. and then slap a Comanche badge on it. :D
  19. welcome to the addiction, I mean club! :waving:
  20. the 8.8 is only 5/8" narrower per side. but with the wide butt of our MJs makes an already funny looking front-to-rear-tire-sticking-out-ratio a bit worse. Add 2" wheelspacers to an 8.8 and everything looks perfect.
  21. oh my!
  22. fixed the pics for ya. :D you need to paste that image address into the pop up box that appears when you click on the image box (little green box above). but make sure the IMG tags are NOT used.
  23. click on the image tag above the text box (little greenish square) and paste the address into the popup window. easy-cheesy once you get the hang of it. :D
