ZJs have a low pinion Dana 30 so it wouldn't work anyways in an original MJ axle.

don't bother with an old Cherokee, go to the junkyard and pick out any bucket seat from a newer car that your butt likes. they are all about the same level of difficulty to install. usually a bit of 1x1 tube steel can do it.

I see tiny beds and all I can think about is the loss of interior space a comparable sized SUV would have given me. but they are popular, there's no denying it...

The XJ shackle is good for 1/2 inch. It's such a small amount and brings with it the chance of inversion coming down off a lift, that I don't advise it. Go with blocks or a mix of flatter leafs.

I see no reason that wouldn't work great. except for the aforementioned permanence, which is honestly not all that permanent.

and yet I'm swapping out the d35 that's under my trailer. it's possible I've got some deeeeeeep seated resentment about my original 88's d35 trying its darnedest to strand me on the side of the road.

love it so far. though I highly suggest checking out a few pictures of MJs with the vents removed. they all look... odd. also, don't forget to add a vent back in somewhere. those aren't just for looks! the Liberty 8.25 is a couple inches wider than the dana 35. the AW4 is a proven transmission. it's not quite as efficient as a more modern trans, but that just means you add more gear or more HP to compensate. unless you're hitting the tracks and setting 1/4 mile times, you'll never notice the difference.

I would go with a liberty 8.25 rear axle. Same MJ rim bolt pattern and a couple inches wider. plus disks. edit: forgot to add the wj info. It's an aluminum 44a and is not a popular swap. Plus a 5on5 bolt pattern. In fact I can't think of a single example.

Front mudflaps are a highly underrated comfort item. I never took the doors off, but pre-flaps the spray off the tires would just obliterate any hope of using my side windows. Lol. 5 stars, would do flaps again.

mine wrapped pretty bad on uphill climbs. (SOA wth pretty worn out leafs) with aftermarket flares, it should work with either a 4.5" SUA or a 6" SOA. keep in mind that, either way, long bumpstops are what will keep your tires out of the sheetmetal.

shifting the hose clamp would likely have caused another leak somewhere else. new hoses are a good thing

I'm running 4ohm speakers in my Liberty with the old XJ radio. in fact, I'm finding it difficult to even find 8ohm speakers that aren't either cheap paper crap (aka "OEM replacement") or mid range speakers designed to be a art of a bigger system.

toothpicks can work too or fatter/coarser screws.

have you tried longer screws? are these threaded into metal or threaded into wood?

pretty much anything that's not made of paper will be better than the original speakers. aside from that, most 5 1/4s fit the doors and tuck behind the factory grilles. but not all will, so keep in mind how much the speaker pokes out from the mounting surface.
