If you've got the center console, it might fit in there (with customation of course). Otherwise, you could just sell the TJ one.

Any radio can be wired up (if you're willing to cut/splice wires), but there is not enough room in an MJ dash for the larger sizes of radios. I forget what it stands for, but a "DIN" is the size of a standard radio. Roughly 2"x7". A 1.5 DIN would be 3x7, half-DIN would be 1 x7 and 1/4 DIN is 1x3.5". My little eqalizer is a 1/4" DIN size.

MJs have a single DIN size radio like most aftermarket units. The TJ came with a 1.5 DIN radio from the factory.

"Early" can refer to just the 86 (which won't have the 4.0L) or more broadly to anything pre-late-90. 87-90 4.0L MJs got stuck with a crappy manual transmission plus the aforementioned Renix system. It's easy to swap in an AX-15 and any 15 year od truck will need some attention paid to the old sensors. Personally I think people that say to avoid the early trucks are either wusses who avoid wrenching at all cost, or sneaky bastids trying to keep prices down for their ownb selfish needs. :D What you want to buy depends entirely on what you want in the end.

Very tough. You'll essentially need a complete donor vehicle and even then you need to make some semi-serious mods to your truck to make the 4.0L fit. A better swap is the Chevy 3.1/3.4 engine. Wow, it finally looks like an MJ and not a chop-shop victim! :D Very nice! Are the front tires as close to the rear of the wheelwells as it appears?

It's a shame when idiots spoil everything. Dogs should be on leashes, especially when stuff like that is going on. :(

I've seen the type of trails you run and I have to agree that rollovers suck for dogs. :roll: That's an absolute-worst-case senerio for me though and Carly wears it mostly so she can't lerch forward into the dash on minor bumps/stopping/hills. I bought the harness at my local PetsMart. I bet they have them online but it might be tougher to get the right size.

I love my wheelbase too! But I highly recommend some rocker guards. It's amazingly easy to smack the sheetmetal into stuff. Also, if you don't have one already, you should get a harness for your furry friend. :D

With all the run-down piece-of-crap MJs I've bought in my life, I'm genuinely surprised that I've yet to see a mouse in one. BUT, I have a continuing problem with sparrows trying to nest in the various holes they find. I ended up cutting a swim noodle up to stuff into the holes. :headpop:

Is it me or does it look like it doesn't quite fit in the cart?

I had a leak in my 88 where the water found its way under the back of the hood, down the fire wall, and through one of the wire holes above the pedals.

Previously I could only get one color made because the minimum order is 500 (hence the voting) but that could change on Monday. We'll see.

Alcohol poisoning? :drool: Have you tried turning on the hose and watching for leaks? I tore out the inside and then spread baby powder around the floor of my Dakota in an effort to track down a leak. Same principle (using the dust/dirt) helped track down a leak in my 86 that started at the top of the windshield and trickled down inside the A-pillars on it's way to the floor.

I've thought about putting ax XJ or TJ/YJ tank under the back where the spare tires goes, but I have 10 gallons in the Gerry cans so it's less of a concern now.

More importantly, I saved a ton of money in the short run. I openly admit I got insanely lucky when I found that partially rolled/54k mile/4.10 geared Bronco, but I parted it out for over twice the purchace price and got free axles in the process. :D

And it's been replaced by an even wider 33x14 bogger. :D Makes it kinda hard to see any small imports that may be tailgating. :roll:
