  1. very true, but freakjeep might, uh, freak if he didn't at least sign in top the intro thread there. :D
  2. hence the need to replace that temp switch. and if you're going to do that, you might as well put that money towards gauges and the 2 sending units (oil and temp). plus you can get a tach too!
  3. If the 4" lift isn't causing any problems, why go higher? :dunno: a taller truck leads to a higher COG, and a higher COG than necessary is generally a bad idea, especially on the street and especially since your track width is still about stock.. If you're itchin' for a project, what about WJ control arms, a big ZJ swaybar, and a proper track bar? Just make sure that the trackbar is good for 4-6" so you won't have to replace it twice should you change your mind later. How is your rear lifted now? Oh, and check with your local muffler place. chances are if you walk in with an axle and some perches, they'll burn it on for pretty cheap.
  4. time to upgrade to a full instrument cluster.
  5. inch-itis has been the cause of many a headache and empty wallet. are your shocks 6" capable? the brake lines? sway bar links? If it's still stock, then your track bar is beyond maxed out already.
  6. tech questions should really go in the tech forum so that more people will see them (and then they are searchable in the tech database)
  7. I'm curious as to why you need more lift?
  8. you'd better post up in the canadian forum too, or I'll never hear the end of it. :rotf:
  9. sweet. :D always wanted to go to haspin.

    big street tire?

I hate the amber lenses. they just pop out at the eyes, and not in a good way. I like the simpler color scheme. Just you wait til I have the shaker hood. And if I happen to have too much money someday, I'll be stroking the engine to 401 and installing a 6spd manual. :D

    big street tire?

the black one died in the accident. this cheap chrome died in the sun. I picked up a factory chrome on craigslist for $15 that will be going on eventually. The chrome stays. :fs2:
  12. off topic? I hadn't even noticed. :D that's nothing by CC standards. :rotf:

    big street tire?

well, after much deliberating (not really) I've decided that once I have money and a need of driving the truck, I'm going with the Goodyear Fortera Tripletred (until I change my mind again). I know a couple people that have 'em and love 'em and the tires come in the sizes I'm looking for (or close enough anyway). Should be very good in the heavy rain, and lord knows that happens once or twice in Georgia. 255/60/r17 (29x10) for the front 265/70r17 (31.6x10.5) for the rear for comparison, stock tires were 255/55r17 (28x10) which don't exist in the tripletred. we now take you back to your regularly scheduled program, already in progress. :waving:
  14. I got a winning lotto ticket!       . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . for all of $20 :D Each christmas my uncle buys everyone a scratchoff (in addition to gifts, not in lieu of gifts :D ). this is the first time in 15 years (of being old enough to participate) that I've ever won anything. I also got a hoodie, a hiking shirt, some cash, assorted knickknacks and ........ my grandfather gave me his WWII military uniform, including the fatigue jacket.
  15. A new place to live sounds like a winner. I know you've tried to sell a truck, but have you ever asked the guys here about available parking spots at their places? I'm sure the hardest part would be finding someone close enough. I know I'd gladly babysit a truck or 2, but it's a heck of a drive. :( Do we have any club members in Minneapolis? :dunno:
  16. I would try TJ axleshafts with 760s. If I did somehow manage to toast 'em too, I'd go for the alloys/CTMs. Good luck breaking those. You'd have to upgrade to some pretty serious axles to get something better than the 760s. My truck only has the 297s up front. Either way, a truss on that 30 would be a good idea.
  17. Die Hard. :D
  18. :clapping:
  19. let us know when you learn something about those flares.
  20. yes, but they can be swapped in. :dunno:
  21. My old Dana 35 spit out several ring gear teeth. but I lost teeth on the pinion too so it balanced out. :D driving that last mile to work was like someone hitting your seat frame with a sledge hammer. :ack:
  22. I hate paying extra for a name, but I'm happy to pay for a proven product from a company with a proven track record. Plus there are plenty of other arms out there that bridge the price gap.
  23. Rusty claims his arms are awesome too. this is one of them: We can never escape the old adage; you get what you pay for. No one discounts out of the goodness of their heart. they will charge the most they can get away with. there has got to be more at work here between $99 arms and $170 arms
