  1. they really work well if you have the room to get to the solder joint. Used them for years on aircraft avionics. Raychem may have them cheaper and they use a heat gun with a J shaped outlet spout that heat 2 sides at once.
  2. likely a corrosion issue in the front lighting connector or the front bulb sockets.
  3. There was a good thread on interior lights a short time ago. The poster used interior lights from a VW Golf. I ordered two off Ebay and am really happy with them............
  4. 2.5 has 4 cylinders, 4.0 has 6
  5. After reading you guys, i think I'll wait for better weather to try this, thanks for the replies......
  6. Yes Pete, the metal trim is what i would like to remove........
  7. OK thanks, i have the window sweep out already, what i would like to remove is the trim below it. i think it comes off with plastic clips like the trim around the windshield.
  8. At the drivers shoulder level, at the bottom outside of the window is the rubber weather strip. Below that is a piece of black trim, does anyone have any ideas about how to remove this piece of trim?
  9. Sounds like a bad ground at the rear of the truck. Remember, the instrument panel lights are designed to go off if there is trouble in the rear lighting that you can't see when you are driving..
  10. There was a writeup on the NAXJA forum on how to reset the odometer, but it was quite some time ago.............
  11. Anyone have a good source for a removal tool for the fuse block contacts?
  12. Remember, the cluster lights do not work if the tail lights are out. it was designed that way to let you know the taillights are not working. Trouble shoot the wiring to the taillights.
  13. how does the tranny actuate the switch? i'm thinking that the switch i bought off ebay is too short for the B/A10 and is not being activated.
  14. ohmed out switches, the old one is bad, the new one is good. when i jumper the contacts of the switch connector while in reverse, the lights work which tell me that the wiring is good and so are the bulbs. what in the tranny could be bad?
  15. My backup lights do not work. i ohmed out the wiring and its all good, i have 12V to the switch and when i go into reverse and jumper the contacts, the lights come on. I'm beginning to wonder if there is something wrong with my B/A10 tranny or if the switch i bought is too short to reach...................any ideas?
  16. got it, thanks. Found it in the DIY section just after i posted........felt like a dumbA$$ for not looking there first.
  17. It appears to me that the wiper motor is attached to a bar that runs across the firewall between the two wiper studs. This bar looks to be bolted to the underside of the cowl sheet metal. To remove the wiper motor, I'm thinking remove the 4 star bolts and swing the motor up thru the cowl opening. Am i right, or is there another way to do it?
  18. grab the fuel pump and sending unit if at all possible....also the B pillar trim.....
  19. Check out Ebay for their auto connector repair/contact removal tools. They have an eleven piece set for 4.99. i just bought a set, haven't tried them out yet, but they look really sturdy and should come in handy. Hopefully they will work on the connectors in the fuse block.........
  20. i've seen something similar when the bulb on one side is normal duty and the other side is heavy duty.................
  21. Has anyone had any luck changing the color of the carpet and vinyl by dyeing or painting it?
  22. Does anyone know if a 85 Cherokee frame hitch will fit our trucks?
  23. Just to keep someone else from making the same mistake............looking at Gen 1 Dakota tail lights, i decided that the forum was wrong and if I took a Dremel and cut away the mounting flanges, the lens portion would work. WRONG.....moral of the story, listen to the advice on the forum. Dakota tails will not work period.
  24. What is the forum opinion on running synthetic 30W motor oil in a BA10?
  25. If you spliced the factory back-up lamps into the original turn signal wiring in parallel, seems to me that the original turn signal lamps plus the factory back-up lamps would flash at the same time. this would maintain the side view as required. Only problem might be increased current draw............
