  1. so i found out that i can get all my parts half off through work if i have the parts store order my stuff and charge it through the stores account as long as i pay for it  so i'm wondering what the CFMs for the rochester 2SE carb is, i read somewhere before that it was around 300, if that's true and i slap a holly carb on it (it's still 2 bbl) that has 500CFM? gotta know before i order a carb i can't use, Redwolf
  2. Here's the "air horn" mounted, only angle i could take em at Here's my MJ with the roll bar  but the roll bar is currently out of the bed due to me wire brushin the old paint away so i can repaint it black  Redwolf
  3. whenever i can take the 4.0 out of my brothers eliminator  Redwolf
  4. So I've never thought about keeping up a build thread for my MJ but I've decided not to restore my truck to stock, i'm gonna build it up. When I first got my 86 MJ it was just a truck to get me from point A to point B but now it is my baby. This was my wolfred (or beast) when I first got it. I've had to replace the 2.8 V6 engine with another; the transplant engine came out of a 1993 GMC Sonoma with fuel injection but I converted it to carb and after all that work this is what Beast looked like. After all that and replacing the clutch slave cylinder I found a decent set of fog lights from walmart that didn't last long and I even played with the grille style....some more pictures :D i currently have this one installed chrome one fog lights  After that it's been audio upgrades, better radio, speakers, new shocks, tune ups and so on. Then i got a Hi-Lift  Then it was the flag pole everyone said would fail :rotfl2: and yes it hold at 65MPH on the highway, my gas mileage sucks though :rotf: Found some "air horns" at pepboys  I'll take some pictures of them installed tomorrow when the sounds up, but after all that i've been enjoyin my MJ just drivin it around to work and to hang out with friends then my jeep club invited me to corolla beach in NC  . :MJ 1: . 2wd tamed a 4x4 only beach  little bit of flex at Micky Ds Then I went out so a fellow jeepers land and got stuck, this was the aftermath of bein pulled out by a 89 YJ :fs1: I have a roll bar in my bed but not mounted and no lights, I'll get a picture of that tomorrow, Redwolf
  5. that's what i'm havin done, my dad works in a metal shop, he's just waitin for the steel shipment, Redwolf
  6. ok, i wasn't sure if i needed a backing plate, i don't know if they have to be a special size so i'm havin them made the same size as the base at the end of the pipes, Redwolf
  7. i actually got a roll bar for a long wheel base comanche, it's mounted just like the short wheel base one and not from front to rear of the bed but i was wondering do all roll bars have back plates for mounting or just bolted to the bed, i just have the bar itself no bolts, no mounting hardware at all. i just want to mount it right for when i do bolt it in, Redwolf
  8. sorry had a brain-fart bought what trans i have and if the ax4 doesn't bolt up to the 4.0 what auto trans came with the 89 MJ elimanator? and Eagle, it's a donor MJ not XJ and it looks like a frame what's rustin (as seen in picture below) Redwolf
  9. ok so i have an 86 with a 2.8 mj, well i had bought my brother an 89 mj with a 4.0, the rust in it is really bad and rustin away the frame and kinda looks fixable but if not i get the 4.0 engine, would the 4.0 fit in the engine bay of an 86 mj without cuttin away at the fenders and would my AX15 (or AX5 if i ever convert to 4wd) handle the 4.0? Redwolf
  10. is that a 4x4? lol :rotfl2: :rotf: i didn't think of that, that's actually a pretty good idea  i might try that sunday unless i get some down time tomorrow, Redwolf
  11. so sunday (july 27th) i went wheelin with my local jeep club and got stuck on a members land (i know real big surprise, 2wd stuck in mud lol) but i had to be pulled out non-the-less but my rear bumper is now warpped and me and my dad don't even wanna try to straighten it back out since when i got my MJ it was a little messed up; but i'm lookin for dementions and specs on what lengths heights, widths and all that good tech stuff bout building my own bumper. i know JCR offroad offers a rear bumper for MJs but i can get thicker metal for less and possibly do the bumper myself but i'm in search of the dementions and blue prints, anyone have any? Redwolf
  12. well see that's my issue, i can't find the 4wd trans in a 5 speed manual, always the AX-4, Redwolf Someone chime in on this if I'm wrong but shouldn't Redwolf also be looking for a trans from an S10 donor? S10 2.8 with 5speed was way more common than the jeep with 2.8 i don't think it bolts the same, i looked at the 5speed under my buddy's dad's S10 (which had a 2.8) and it didn't look anything the same as mine, Redwolf
  13. well see that's my issue, i can't find the 4wd trans in a 5 speed manual, always the AX-4, Redwolf
  14. found my thread and glad i did cause i need some things cleared up, i was at a wrenchin part for one of my jeep clubs and they always ask me when i'm gonna get 4wd and i told em when i get a donor XJ for the drivetrain. i was informed that all i need is the dana 30 front axle, front and rear driveshafts and a transfer case (and linkage), theyre sayin the AX-15 trans is 4 wheel drive compatable, is that true? is there like a "cover" that i could take off the AX-15 and convert it to 4x4? just wondering cause this swap is comin soon now that everything aint breakin on my MJ....knock on wood, Redwolf
  15. monster truck MJ  Redwolf
  16. still too much in my opinion, but aftermarket or OEM as long as it works and the part numbers match, Redwolf
  17. driver side http://www.quadratec.com/products/55206_8006.htm passenger side http://www.quadratec.com/products/55206_8007.htm screw ebay but i don't 60 somethin bucks is worth the sweet look, Redwolf
  18. thanks for the numbers, now i gotta google em lol dang, well good thing i got the part numbers from dainternetguy lol, it worth a shot askin, Redwolf
  19. just a thought, do ya have a part number from when ya got yours? and would that be a no-go on just pullin a set from an 01 cherokee and slappin em on an MJ? Redwolf
  20. i know i've seen somethin bout this before but i can't seem to find it now, people have been making the lenses on their "clear" turn signal lense the "amber" color like on the 01 cherokees, i was wondering if i could pull a set of the turn signal lights for an 01 cherokee and slap em in my 86 MJ or atleast change the lense out between the two? Redwolf
  21. i'm running penzoil syncro-mesh in mine, not a single problem, decently priced too, Redwolf
  22. that much i do know but like i said, it does not always do it, it's mainly at a full wheel lock though, Redwolf
  23. ah, well than luckily its not that  Redwolf
  24. did that, i saw nothing just the belt and pulley moving around and around i believe so, i stretched the steering pump to where the belt had little to no slack 1 i really hope it's not that and 2 how do i check that? Redwolf
  25. so ever since i did my tune up; which involved replacing distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs, air filter, PVC valve, belts, and an oil change. i have been having this loud squeeking noise most the time when i turn, normally it's at full lock but sometimes it's a slight turn, it's not your normal power steering pump whining sound, it's that whine about 10 times worse and almost like a slapping sound with it, folks at my work think my pumps going bad, what do yall think?
