  1. :agree: Been a member since 1999 and never had any problems.
  2. Do you see any areas that may indicate that or is that just speculation? For the record, I'm looking to buy (well, trade) for this Jeep. This looks suspicious as well as some other areas. Bring a magnet. :D Image Not Found
  3. Hey Bo! Is this pertaining to the Johnson Valley issue in your AO as well as others?
  4. I'd love to slide a felt magnet down the sides; looks like a Bondo baby............
  5. I guess that's a good attitude (copout) to take in Rustachusetts and other rust belt states, but it's wrong. All rust is an cancer issue and can't be ignored. Jimoshel's issue is not rust, it's leaks. In his case I suspect it's dry rotted weather stripping, maybe a harder fix than rust prevention. :brows:
  6. The pic may or may not pertain to your prospective MJ mate. I'm aware of 3 or 4 MJs in Oz, so which one are you looking at? BTW, been to Brisbane many times, love the place. You must know guru Marcus of down south of you?
  7. Exciting.
  8. My old stock engine used to overheat on the highway, but was fine around town. Replaced virtually the entire colling system, nothing helped. While installing a dual exhaust system, we cut out the cat. It was almost completely blocked by a gummy tar looking goo. There were no rattles in the cat. In my case, the only way you could tell the cat was clogged was by looking into the inlet. Finished up the exhaust system (w/o cat) and it never overheated again on the highway.
  9. I bought a new S10 w. the 2.8 from AAFES in the Philippines, and drove it for about eight years through the goat paths and rice patties there. It never let me down, ever. Shipped it back to the States w. about 90K on it, sold it, then returned to the Philippines. One day about a month later I got an email from the buyer stating the engine had locked up on him while driving on the Interstate. He was not happy. :(
  10. Still have the original cat. converter? Might be clogged. Also get a pressure test done on the cap and radiator.
  11. Sounds like an excellent oportunity to upgrade to the quicker ZJ box. :D I've had plenty of loose steering gear boxes like that too (play in the output shaft), but never experienced death wobble or shaking from it. Just a lot of play in the wheel, as the slop at the box is amplified out to the wheels. If you still have the original box and are over 150K mile, you probably need a new box anyhow.
  12. Yeah, the 91 ignition switch is completely different than the part number that crooner posted, but good info nevertheless since I've never had a problem with it. BTW, it's a different p/n between the tilt and non-tilt columns too.
  13. That's the diff housing vent hose. Relieves pressure in the housing and helps prolong the axle seal's lifespan. Mine looked like yours, just replace it with some new hose. I used neoprene tubing. Don't break the nylon male fitting in the cross member when replacing.
  14. Super fish. We get a few alligator gar but nothing that size. World record is 279# caught in the Rio Grande River. Did y'all release it?
  15. GRAB THEM! They are more rare than rocking horse poop. They will bolt right on the any XJ buckets up to 1993.
  16. Yep, I should have clarified this better. The XJ 86-93 bucket seats will bolt into an MJ IF you swap the MJ brackets (bench or bucket) to the XJ buckets. Or do as mkbruin stated and swap the bases.
  17. Yep. Thank the Man for the High Life. Gotta bleed for the farmers though this year...........
  18. Today's stats: Temperature: 103.0 F Relative Humidity: 75% Heat index: 115.6 F No rain. Been like this since June. The cotton and corn is burned up and useless. My lake is down 4' and the fish are so deep you can't catch them, or even launch the boat. And it's to hot to fish anyhow. BUT, the MJ has not come close to overheating at all w. the A/C constantly running full blast and I've been running all around the state hauling furniture moving the girls to different apartments at college. The electric fans / cowl hood are doing their job. Gotta look at the bright side. :brows:
  19. MJs never had overhead consoles, even the exports, so this has to be from something else Rob. From what? I have no idea..............
  20. Pics from yesteryear. :D
  21. 1994 was the change year for XJ seats, so 1993 and below XJ seats are bolt-in. From a 2-door XJ preferrably since they tilt forward. The newer seats require modification.
  22. Wrong. I have an idea. :D Looks good Rob, w. D44 too.
  23. Like these?
  24. Yep, you need new 5-leaf MT springs to take most of the payload off the bags.
  25. X2 - fine work. What is the NAPA part number that ignition switch?
