  1. My longtime wife, a lovely lady from the Philippines, has a couple of her girlfriends over tonight to watch the fight. They are already very excited and shrieking in their encrypted mode. No matter what happens in the fight it will only get louder. I had to adjourn to my doghouse above the garage with the dogs because they really don't care. Hope this is a good fight and the good man wins.
  2. You mean Alabama vs. Auburn? Yeah, that was a bit over the top. Seriously though, that's how it's being hyped. Did you notice I didn't say who was Good or Evil?
  3. Good against Evil, God vs. the Devil, Alabama vs. Auburn, Conservatives vs. Liberals, Ike against Hitler. This fight is all that.
  4. Battery sizes are classified by groups. The MJ factory battery size is a group 58 series, and all group 58 batteries regardless of the manufacturer are supposed to be the same L x W x H. The slightly taller group 34 series batteries will also fit our trucks, and they have a higher CCA rating than the group 58's simply because of their larger size and plate area. The factory hold-down works with either of these group series. Doing a quick search, it looks like they don't make a Diehard group 58 series battery.
  5. Glad you finally got your orders Jacob, now go make the best of it. You don't need luck - just do your best.
  6. With that gear ratio and tire size you should have a 31 tooth speedo gear. Take a peek at the one you have.
  7. No, the vent wing windows were an optional feature.
  8. I'd like to do this too, put in an AW4 floor shifter but keep my existing column shift (just pull the shift arm and bypass the interlock) so I'll be watching. Your project would make a good writeup for the DIY forum........
  9. ^^ Wrong p/n, that's for a Wrangler. The XJ/MJ part numbers are: 83504102 (Right) 83504101 (Left) Your best bet is to pull the whole vent window assembly at the yard or they pop up on Ebay occasionally.
  10. Do you have a column shift in it now?
  11. Not for me........... Maybe for you though...........
  12. Thanks. I don't have the spring kit in hand yet, but it's on the way from NH. Maybe when I see it up close and personal it will be obvious. Looks like an early HO only brake TSB.
  13. Can't you get a thin open ended wrench on the base of the sender? I'm not familiar with the 2.5 setup.
  14. A 95 4.0 HO tach into a 91 HO 4.0 should work fine if the speedo gear is right. What size tires do you have on the 91 MJ?
  15. Then it's a sensor or sender, not a switch. Look like this? or this?
  16. Use an oil pressure switch socket like the Lisle 13250 or a deep 1-1/16" socket. . If you don't have one, channel locks work too.
  17. Thanks Jeff - that'll help.
  18. I found TSB 05-51-92 on a list, but no details for the install. Any ideas? Do you have access to these from your days at the dealership? The below is all I could find: Jeep TSB 05-51-92, Brake Lamps Stuck On/Speed Control Inop - Spring Kit, 4720825
  19. I agree that the clip is a good idea. Are you getting it from the dealer? Yes.
  20. Lada. Fine machine.
  21. Yes it certainly is. Looks very familiar. :hmm:
  22. In my parts manual there is a part mandated for XJs and MJs by a Jeep TSB dated 05-51-92. It calls for the install of a brake pedal return spring, p/n 4720825, SPRING PACKAGE. Below is a pic of the spring kit on the bottom. I do not have this spring on my 91 or in hand and do not know how it's installed. I assume it fits over the booster rod stud on the pedal. Does anyone have this brake pedal spring on your rig? Image Not Found
  23. P/n 53005253. That clip is a good idea - just ordered one.
  24. Actually the EPA mandate came out in 1975. AMC started installing cats on their gasoline vehicles in 1977.
  25. You should know. And you missed the point as usual. Yes, of course, check the trans connectors.
