  1. To check the tie rod ends just take a pair of channel locks and grab it on top of the nut and close to the grease zert on the bottom and sqeeze it up and down to check the play this is the easiest way I know. Also the shocks, sombody correct me if I'm wrong don't plat to much of a roll with a steering problem but could on a rough road cause some wandering,And sorry but not to sure on checking the track bar, hope this helps out some.

  5. Nice rig man keep up the good work especially like the lights just throw some good spot lights under the bumper or some where you prefer and you got a legal beer run truck............
  6. Get it keep it cheap and wheel the crap out of it.then when it blows you can haul it over the scales and break even or maybe profit a few dollars!

  11. I have to agree the 6.5 was not the most reputable engine but I have a buddy with a burb like your looking at and he gets 24 to 30 mpg on the hwy with average speeds of 70-75,and thats pulling a 16' trailer with a samurai on 33's with the price fuel thats one big plus!
  12. don't fell like a dumb a$$ it always feels good to figure out the problem especially when its got you p-offed but one thing to remember theres no such thing as a stupid question
  13. Got the thermostat and 98 housing installed today with the 180* thermostat let it idle in the drive for a good 30 min. and cracked open the temp sensor no air with a good flow back to the plastic res. ? is how would I know if the system still needs burping? Oh and by the way it never exeeded 195* at idle and 180/185* on the shake down run about 5 miles or so

  18. Yea it was just a thought. I have run the SM465 in all of my blazers with nothing less than 4.56's and 38's its pretty bullet proof and i don't think you could bust it with out atleast 500HP but its also only a 4 speed .anyways just thought Id make the suggestion
  19. Well got it all figured out today I hope  I went to a local JY near my work and picked up a thermostat housing off a 98. but the d@mn thing cost me $25 I felt like this was kinda pricey but oh well I have one know and my search will be over By the way Akula they have two MJ's and 12 XJ's at Mac's JY on Airline Hwy near 310 in St.Rose I didnt see them but thats what the parts manager told me. Thanks for all the help and quick responces guys, and another ? will a tilt column from an XJ fit in my MJ?
  20. Just a though. Could you run a GM SM465 with a NP205? Bullet proof set up but unsure of the adaptation.
  21. Get the one from your father in law and buy the one from the other guy and take the two and ma ke one with a cheap used lift and tires and beat it in the mud like it owes you money and paprt out the remains......
  22. The only real problem I had was the sport truck decals on the sides but I bought a $20 B&D sander from walmart and the automotive grade 80 grit and took it all the way down to the steel but the bumpers and windshield trim I took to work and glass beaded them which made it super easy I'm planning to repaint the though I wasnt satisfied with the out come, but I didnt remove it from the truck either so it to will get blasted.I'm thinking of installing hood vents so I might wait until I decide on that.
  23. Well got the thermostat housing off today and dumb A$$ PO had took the thermostat out all in all for what reason I don't know  hopfully no gremlins show up got a new 180* t-stat and going to pick up a new housing tommorow at the JY( thats if I can find one.)
