Ok, so I checked out the map for the location....... "My Friends and I Automotive"....... is this a house with storage containers and several vehicles on a few acres off the beaten path south of C-Rock? Why am I suddenly hearing that song from Deliverance?......... -

Also, if anyone has parts needs and will be going to this event, hit me up - I'll see if I have it. I'm still trying to get stuff out of storage and into the hands of people that can use the stuff. My storage unit isn't far from Castle Rock......... -

Hey Scott, I don't do facebook - it's the devil - especially for cops..... So I can't post/contribute in the thread there. Looks like I should be able to attend this. I'm happy to bring food stuffs but it'd be easier if you could just tell me what I can bring since I won't be able to coordinate on FB. We have plans for my folks to be down to see us for Father's day. Maybe my pops and I will stop by for the car show! I wish I could have helped you out with your travel needs Pete! My folks summer in Estes Park but won't be there until after you are - I think. Never know with them, but they're driving from Florida and stopping to see family in Nebraska. I believe their plan is to come to us for Father's day before heading back up to Estes. If I had a working MJ I'd have let you use it! Are we really expecting 25 or so MJ peeps at this thing? That's pretty cool! -
A better example against gun control and for concealed carry doesn't exist.... Whatamatta Lefty? Think they should have just let themselves be victimized all in the name of NOT taking a life? I'm sure he would have voluntarily surrendered his gun to the government with the rest of you...... Don't mess with this Brazilian mother...... Note the utter shock and surprise on the bad guy's face as he goes down..... Yeah, this would be considered "graphic" so..... use discretion.

Patience and creative words as search keys. Found this one mixed in with rat rod stuff. I do wish they would add a section for classic / special interest cars, or a way to search a specific group of years, or something like that. I've done searches where I start with "1910" in the title box and work my way into the 60's/70's depending on my mood. Do the same in the auto parts section as well. "rat rod", "ratrod", hot rod", "hotrod", "vintage", "classic", "project"....... all words entered into the Cars for Sale By Owner / Auto Parts sections title box. I use this same search technique and patience when looking for the "tin" toy cars and trucks I collect. I stumbled on this very rare and unusual to find in the US, German toy truck made by Gama. It's the 501 series with clockwork (wind-up) drive, a transmission with fwd/neutral/reverse, a ring and pinion differential and battery operated lights. These will bring $1800/$2000 in pristine shape. I value mine at about $1000 as the doors are bent up, it's missing the removable roof, and a battery cradle. It was missing the wind-up key, but I found that on ebay in Bulgaria....... lol. Guy had it on Colorado Springs CL for $200 for a month. I got it for $100. As I recall, his ad title was simply "German toy truck" under Antiques. Are the pics of MY backyard? No, that's where I bought it/how it was before loading it up. My backyard is the first photos in this thread where you see the Model A fronts. (I don't know why these pics show up again down here...... I can't seem to delete them either..........)

Found another to add to the project........ '29 Chevy AC International Sedan. The front and rear will be used in the project.... separated between the doors. Super complete and surprisingly rust free save for some pinholes in the driver's door. Was a Kansas car the seller brought home 10 years ago...... but termites and weather got to the body's wood structure so it's FLIMSY and barely attached to the frame currently. The doors are wired closed, with a wire spanning between them inside binding the center pillars from bowing outward. No motor, missing all of the interior except for the roll up rear window blind tubes..... lol. Getting it home on the trailer was a chore, kept having to pull over and put strap after strap on it to keep the parts together. I found that the hood latches weren't fastened (covered by tons of leaves and I didn't think to check) and the radiator assembly was just sitting in place, no bolts, likely that way since the engine was harvested. By the time I got from Pueblo Colorado to home in Littleton, I had 8 straps on the damn thing..... Anyhow, the plan is to build a faux-front of a small barn/shed, about 4' deep that has an opening for the rear of the car. Ya know, something that looks like it was parked and forgotten about in the old building kinda thing. The front will get tucked into the trees, peeking out like the others.... might sell one of the model a's if it gets to looking crowded.

Some progress........ Pressure washed the entire thing, washed away decades of dirt road and engine/trans gooeyness. The truck had 2 15x8 rally wheels for the rear, one 15x7 front and a temp spare. The 15x7 still seemed to stick out when mounted to the front so I found a pair of 15x6.5's that had more backspacing. Had the 5 wheels media blasted and painted them GM Argent silver. Man was it a mo-fo to find old-school looking 15" tires used, but I found some 255/70 rears and 215/70 fronts and got those mounted up. Afterwards, I felt it needed a bit more rake, so I took a few turns out of the torsion bars. Have some NOS GMC Sierra van center caps coming. May/may not put trim rings back on them..... It's amazing what a simple set of tires and wheels will do for appearance isn't it? -

LOL........ Not likely...... probably be more apt to do a "stoppie" by mashing the brakes at high speed..... But think of how much attention it'd get at the drag strip...... pull up into the burnout box, stop for a second, let the track attendant holler at ya to pull forward and get frustrated, then light 'em up...... Or maybe I should go get a car trailer and do this.......... ? -
I call it empty nest..... I sold off all but one MJ, have my '46 Olds in storage until I figure out why I haven't started on it, my uber-cool '97 supercharged 5.2 Dakota and of course, the Hellcat...... But those apparently aren't enough. So I bring you my latest project - a '66 GMC shortbed sitting on a '60-something Toronado frame....... yep...... Front Wheel Drive with 455 Olds power! I just couldn't pass it up - not for the stupid low price I got it for. At least at the time I went to look at it, it was a stupid low price...... lol. Since getting it home and crawling around it, I've found it's gonna need quite a lot of work. The fab work is actually pretty well done, but the issue is that it was done in the late 80's and was the previous owner's daily driver so it needs alot of mechanical fixing..... and some updating. Not sure how deep I'll delve into all that, but the goal is to get it running and driving again, fix some of the major issues and then sell. As with most of these trucks, they get rusty. This one has plenty of it, but luckily just the fenders, rockers, doors and cab corners. The floors, sills and roof are fine. The bed is an '80's Chevy truck bed and the metal is in excellent shape as far as rust. The bed boards are toast. Wiring has it's issues as it's a hacked blend of '66 GMC and Toronado. It's a simple harness so I may look at just getting an 18-21 circuit street rod harness from Painless and scrapping the nest it has now. For some reason it had 15x8 wheels on the front and one 15x7 on the rear with a temp spare. With the wide track width the Toronado runs, those 15x8's stuck out way to far. I've found a pair of 15x6.5's for the front that fit MUCH better and will be shod with 215/60's. The rear will get as wide as I can find and maybe even a wheel spacer to even up the track width with the front. The rear is the Toronado rear axle bolted to the OEM leaf springs, but for some reason it was narrowed by cutting out a bit of the center and slipping a larger diameter tube over the halves to join them. Might have been done when originally built to accommodate some super wide tires, deep offset wheels for that look of "irony"..... dunno. The bigger "surprises" so far have been the nasty engine oil leak coming from the front of the oil pan / harmonic balancer seal. Can't tell for certain as there's a motor mount bracket there blocking an easy view of that area..... and the front suspension parts are all very worn out. The guy really drove this thing and it didn't help that he lived out in the boonies on dirt washboard roads..... Anyway, should be fun...... I hope.

Whoa....... looks like that death road in Bolivia...... Still picking denim out of your keester?

I have several back panels, blue, gray and a black vinyl. I still have a few random black interior pieces as well - the plastic bits like kick panels, sill and pillar trim, seat belt pivot covers..... I'll have to dig them back out to get a full list. Might still have a black mini-console. That back panel could probably be shipped if I sandwich it in cardboard and plastic wrap it. Could cost a bit to send - guessing $20-$30. PM if you wanna discuss it and/or share your list of parts needed - I still have quite a lot.

I don't know how you rust-belt folks even become vehicle enthusiasts. That level of rot - I wouldn't have given that 'Zuk a 2nd look...... way more work than it's worth in my book. But I'll enjoy watching this thread as you transform that pile into your fun-buggy! -
Gawd I knew absolutely NOTHING about any of this. Amazing space travel progress! I watched the video of the launch and flight, those boosters landing was something out of a CGI high quality movie or something. Unreal that they've made space travel that much more "reusable". 90 million vs 1 billion launches. Crazy! I wasn't able to find anything on line that talks more in depth on the purpose of the Tesla and probe it's mounted to. Is this anything like Voyager? Or simply space junk for aliens to find some day........?

Not so much about the XJ's on the trailer........ but how 'bout that tow rig!!!!

Earlier I posted a pic of a Plymouth Superbird wearing snow chains..... Stumbled across this odd family pic with a Dodge Daytona...... wearing moose heads....? I have no words.

Ditto, the Sami's are super easy to work on and very simply built. Not a real powerhouse though. Adding a Sidekick engine to a Sami can add to that some. Rust is a HUGE issue with those though, both body and frame. I built a Sami from 2 that had issues, one clean body and the Sidekick engine, the other had lots of the off road drive train and bits. When finished, very capable off road but damn did it ride terrible! Very violent on rocky terrain and lack of power steering left my wrists sore after a day of trying to control the steering wheel. An early Chevy S10 Blazer or truck with the 4.3 V6 could also be an option as it has IFS and a decent drivetrain. A 2dr Blazer with the top and doors removed and caged could be a hoot. A standard cab short bed S10 could also be shortened after the cab and you could make a flat bed or use a drop side bed from one of those mini japanese "cushman" style vehicles, or make your own fairly easily. Ok, so this pic is just to bring the phunnay...........

Any idea what this is?
yellaheep replied to Kickin’Chicken's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's the plastic cover for the "power center" where many of your terminals, relays and fuses can be found. It's held in place with two plastic twist-in tabs. Not sure those are being reproduced so you'll want to hit up some of the parts hoarders here, or your local junk yards for those. The thing attached to it is a generic fuse or relay and is for some other aftermarket electrical component added to the truck. I think you have an even more pressing issue though....... dangerous battery cables! -
Just....... wow. https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/jeep-j10-honcho/6444304767.html

Looks like it's a pretty deep ditch the bus got backed into, might have caused some kids to get banged around. Perhaps the student was unconscious toward the back and the driver went back to get her off the bus and they got caught in a quickly growing fire. Says that upwards of 20 others got off the bus ok so I gotta think the one student was compromised somehow - or maybe she had mobility issues (wheelchair) and the driver couldn't get her out quick enough.... but the bus doesn't appear to have handicap ramps/doors.
