Quite the morbid thread this is turning into... Battery acid... break open alot of liquid cell car batteries and dump it all into an iron vat. Within a week you'll have nothing but a frothy mixture of unidentify-ability. Great for getting those stains out of your carpet.

Checked all my vacuum lines, there was one loose, but I believe it went to the charcoal canister or whatever that emissions thing is in the back of the engine. Plugged it back up and didn't fix the problem. Also check all my manifold bolts, they were all torqued down. I'll try messing with the maps sensor, and hope that's the problem, because I'm running out of solutions fast, haha.

better yet get to know the local crematory operator --- no dna left and looks like sand  Or just live 5 min from the ocean like i do , the deepest part of the ocean is maby 20-30 min boat ride and is 2 miles deep ( they say the actual trench its self is comparable to the grand canyon) . o and have a really good budy with a big boat also like i do :brows: You've thought about this, haven't you? haha

That right there is a bent steel rod with a rubberized coating...haha. Might I ask what's holding your battery in? Bad picture, but you can see the bracket on the battery:

If you're listing a TJ Wrangler in the Charlotte Craigslist (where I sold mine) and it hasn't sold in six months, there is either something really wrong with it, or you're asking too much. Specs and price? Honestly I think it's just my luck so far. It was pushed back on the CL pages, and anyone who did manage to find it wants a trade or lowball. 97 Jeep Wrangler 2.5L (one of the big problems right there) It's been overhauled and runs as such, like it's brand new. The engines a slug for that vehicle, though. 113000 original newish soft top and doors BesTop Original hard half doors 15in american racing atx wheels asking 4700, but negotiable. So between getting buried and having a pos 2.5L, nobody wants it, haha. I get more offers on my MJ than on that damn wrangler

The look on her face is priceless: "what?" This would go great here: http://comancheclub.com/topic/38438-jeeps-best-friend/

I was gentle with the IAC, but I did pull the sheath back and pray some carb cleaner in there, as well as spin the sheath and what felt like a spring on the inside a little. I didn't think much of it, but could that have effected it?

These are the steps I took: http://comancheclub.com/topic/11634-renix-throttle-position-sensor-tps-testing-adjustment/ I honestly don't think that's the problem, however. It really started to idle higher when I cleaned the IAC. It was covered in carbon crap, and looks brand new now. I reinstalled it, started it and it idled nicely for a few seconds, then just kept getting higher.

Easy now, there actually are some credible people on craigslist, as rare as it may seem. I got my MJ off of craigslist, the guy was quick to respond, answered all of my questions and was the biggest pro american, stereotypical red neck I've ever met. He was awesome. My sister also got her wrangler off of craigslist (what a mistake that was, pos 2.5L blew on her) and my brother got his XJ from a pastor on craigslist. It's usually easy to weed out the undesirables on CL by looking at how they word their adds, spelling, quality of pictures (if any, that is), and really just how much they care about selling it.

Alright, I'll give it a shot. From the looks of it, it's a project in itself trying to get to the lower manifold bolts. From what I can gather it requires removing the fuel injectors and bar, and that metal heat guard on top of the manifold, is that right?
-
Before you say it, I've searched the forums for answers, and found 3 possibilities. First was the TPS. So I adjusted it accordingly, no go. Next was thoroughly cleaning the IAC, which I did and though it did help my engine start up alot faster with fewer revolutions, still didn't fix the high idle. I also cleaned my throttle body intake manifold. Next was the throttle linkage was getting stuck. That's not the case because it moves freely and smoothly through its entire motion. So, ideas? It's always idled a bit high, but now it's like I have my foot on the gas and won't let go. It occasionally likes to idle a bit lower, but then it realizes it isn't supposed to do what I want it to and jumps back up to a higher rpm.

Forget the dog, beware of owner!

2 or 4wd? I know a nice jy near me that has an ax15 2wd already pulled and ready to go. Located in tega kay near charlotte. If your interested I'll give you directions. Hopefully they still have it...

Pictures, description detailing everything that's been done to it, $4700 negotiable. Browsing anywhere, it's well within that price range. There is also a for sale sign on the vehicle itself. Drive it to wendys or work and people call all the time, but almost ALWAYS want to trade. If not trade, then low ball at 2 grand. I just thought it was funny because wranglers usually sell pretty quickly.

Multiple offers? First come first serve. Talk to the person who contacted you first, and if it sells, contact the other people saying you appreciate their interest but it has been sold. That's what I do. Also have a 97 Jeep wrangler on craigslist... it's been over 6 months and no credible offers, haha. I mean, I know wranglers don't compare to comanches, but cmon!

It's Raining Over Priced Taillights On Ebay
AeroNautical replied to NHMJXJ's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I just sold one for 25 and thought I was being greedy. -
Well, I've had a successful day. I changed the valve cover from the Renix to the Ho. You'll see why in the pictures. Also changed the fuel injectors, rerouted some air intake hoses and installed an XJ center console. Off of a Grand Cherokee. There was no oil anywhere on this thing. The engine had to have been just rebuilt, then the owner decided to throw his ZJ away. And this is why: Looks brand new Cleaned up the old gasket, in with the new. New XJ console. I need to figure something out about the boot. It didn't have one since it's off of an automatic. I got these for the low low price of free

Wasn't the gearing slightly different between the 2.5 and 4.0 transmissions? Like how you can get different diff gearing.
-
My brother was just telling me about some trails in Uwharrie. We were gonna plan a trip when I got my mj offroad ready. Brothers got an xj that's willing, but my mjs still a ways off. If that changes between now and then, I'll be sure to sign up for that trip, haha.

Peugeot To Ax15 Swap, Parts List?
AeroNautical replied to Road Hammer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks Geonovast for clearing some of that up. Like I said, I'm no where near an expert, just thought I'd share what I did know. I'm honestly still looking for an ax15 myself, so I haven't even started the swap yet. They are a bi... pain to find. -
Hmm, take the fuel injector and plug off the tip for that one cylinder... We're just gettin dangerous now

Peugeot To Ax15 Swap, Parts List?
AeroNautical replied to Road Hammer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Any manual MJ or XJ 89 and up should have an ax-15. You say you want to keep it 2wd, but from my ventures to the jy your only really gonna find 4wd trans with a transfer case attached. I'd grab it, since it can still be used for 2wd, and gives you the option later on down the road to go 4 wheel. I'm gonna take a guess and say you have a dana 35, however I'm not sure if you're gonna need a new driveshaft. I'm fairly new to this also, so some people with more experience can chime in here anytime. You should replace the clutch while your at it, since the trans needs to be off to do so. What engine do you have? I think that makes a difference in the gearing of the tranny, just make sure the donor vehicle has the same engine as yours. -
Really? I guess that was before ABS wasn't an option and was mandatory. Just found out abs still isn't mandatory. Thanks Here we go with another questions: Dana 44 rear axle and a Dana 30 front for a scout/YJ. Both for 150. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the 44 has leaves on it, and they look to be in decent shape outside of some superficial rust. I realize I would have to take it to a welder to set it up for an MJ, and a machine shop to inspect and clean it for me. But for that price, it's still worth it I think. What are your opinions? Also, I'd want to swap out the drums for discs. http://charlotte.craigslist.org/pts/3685904212.html And here are some ford 8.8s with 4.10 gearing. http://charlotte.craigslist.org/pts/3759177308.html The guys also selling np207 and np208 transfer cases, will either work with an ax15?

they charged anyone who couldn't make it over that curb, haha
