  1. Here's a 1\160 scale resin long bed for $3.50 https://www.etsy.com/listing/1182152779/n-scale-1160-1984-jeep-comanche-printed?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_e-toys_and_games-toys-building_and_construction&utm_custom1=_k_Cj0KCQiA4uCcBhDdARIsAH5jyUk6ek3ngjiNedX1WcVtYHXdSufMk6PKxT994WCToDyJNvk9O8_MjZQaAlSbEALw_wcB_k_&utm_content=go_12574417893_119773315819_507852404542_aud-1184785539978:pla-352859725406_c__1182152779_12768591&utm_custom2=12574417893&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4uCcBhDdARIsAH5jyUk6ek3ngjiNedX1WcVtYHXdSufMk6PKxT994WCToDyJNvk9O8_MjZQaAlSbEALw_wcB
  2. I figured it was something like that. The book looked like the right one.
  3. Weird though, why does it say the author is an older woman?
  4. Done!
  5. I worked at a dealership during Cash for Clunkers. I saw lots of nice vehicles that today would be worth far more than the $3500 max that they paid destroyed. One was a VW Westfalia that looked like it had never been camped in. I did score lots of good parts before the wrecking yard came to get them. They just had to be complete, but maybe they have bald tires instead of brand new now? it still hurt to watch.
  6. So far her video seems to be getting many more views than normal. Apparently, the algorithm likes "solo female".
  7. My wife took the Comanche out by herself. See it here.😁
  8. I rebuilt the transfers case Friday then installed everything on Sat. It seems like everything went well, bit I haven't actually driven it yet.
  9. Thanks, taking long trips in an old truck has been an adventure for sure. I'm hoping for a few trips without a major issue. It's been challenging finding the right balance of getting good video without making it the focus of the trip.
  10. I believe that National PN 223253 or equivalent is the front seal that fits into the front cover, (third picture from the top). If you are already running an -3AN line, you might just need the adapter that fits into the slave cylinder. They show the part numbers in the bill of materials below, but the kit came with an extra one that didn't fit my application, so I don't know which would be the correct part number.
  11. I had started trying to piece together a kit, but I would have been ordering parts from 4 different sources and buying a used bell housing from eBay. I wasn't really saving much money with all the different shipping charges. Also, Summit had the kit in stock and I received it in 2 days If you could get a cheap bell housing it would be more feasible. The AA kit that I ordered also had the clutch line and adapters to make the new slave work with the old master cylinder. Those parts are available separately. Basically, it is a braided hose and an adapter for the pin type slave cylinder to AN line, plus an adapter form the master to the AN line.
  12. We've got a few new videos on YouTube from our recent trip to the Black Rock Desert, High Rock Canyon and the Sheldon Wildlife Refuge. Also our 488 mile trip home after the internal clutch slave catastrophicly failed.🙄 https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCCUwO90LMyZCxrYMzhP6Jwg/videos
  13. According to the Advance Adapters tech line, the slots should go towards the driver's side as pictured below. It has been confirmed that people have functioning systems with it reversed, but I prefer to have it the way it is supposed to be. The new system is currently installed and functioning. I'm installing a new ax-15 and external slave kit from Advance Adapters. Their instructions do not specifically what direction to mount the clutch fork? Just one tiny black and white photo. I found bunch of posts from people trying to figure it out and have found photos mounted both ways. I'm sure it would "work" either way, but I'd like it to be correct and it seems to operate a little differently depending on which side the spring clips are. I did find a diagram on Repair Link that shows the slots on the driver's side. That's what I'll probably go with if nobody knows. Thanks!
  14. Update, the new parts are all installed and working well. I'll post a link to the YouTube video that I made that covers the external slave swap using the Advance Adapters kit and their new AX15 as well as the transfer case refresh. Hi guys, on our last trip the LUK internal slave cylinder completely gave out with just 15000 miles in it. We drove almost 500 miles home with no clutch. This prompted a conversion to the external slave setup. I decided to just buy the brand new AX15 that Advance sells at the same time, since my current trans has close to 300k on it. Here's a few things I learned that might help someone. -The kit comes with almost everything you need, but no front input seal -The instructions suck, all I ask is for one decent photo or illustration of the clutch fork setup. - I didn't trust the included non branded throw out bearing, so I purchased a National. It looks of higher quality and seemed to spin smoother. -I redrilled the rear housing to the XJ,MJ pattern. Someone posted a file for a 3D printed drill guide and I had my friend make me one. It worked awesome. I can't remember where I got the file from now. I believe the OE holes are 11MM. I used the next size smaller standard bit and it still slid right together. -AA says to use only a particular Mopar 10w30 or Redline MTL. My dealer didn't have the 10W30, so I ordered Redline from Summit Racing. Actually, I ordered the transmission and slave kit from Summit as well. -I'm assuming that I voided the warranty by drilling the new holes. Novak will send you one pre drilled, but it was a few hundred bucks more. There are also clocking rings available. - I found people (Motor trend) didn't receive or lost the fork retainer clip on the pivot and had to pull the trans. - I am still trying to figure out if it matters which direction the clutch fork is mounted? You can't tell in their picture and their tech section on their website is down. Conflicting info everywhere. I did find a diagram on Repair link, do I am going with that unless someone knows better and soon . Here is a link to the drill jig file if you have or know someone who can print it for you. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5665772
  15. It was $6.99 for regular unleaded a month ago in N. California. Now it's "only" $5.59.
  16. The left is the unknown Chinese looking one and the right is the BCA/National. It definitely looks to be of a higher quality.
  17. It's pretty frustrating, especially on something so labor intensive. Unfortunately most of my vehicles are old and OE parts aren't available. Aftermarket seems to be a crapshoot, even when you by name brand products.
  18. I received the kit today. The throw out bearing definitely seems suspect. It was just wrapped in the brown anti-corrosion paper. No brand or part numbers to be found. It also felt rougher compared to the National. Can you tell which is which? I wish they would just knock $10.00 off and not even give you one instead of a cheapie. I was also surprised that it didn't include an input seal, (I bought the one in the pic).
  19. The bill of materials says that the kit comes with a 60". Hopefully Ontrac will deliver it today!
  20. Hmmm, just read the article a few posts down. Maybe the diesel oil isn't as good as it was made out to be?
  21. It wasn't great. We managed to avoid all but one city. The biggest problem was if I had to stop on a incline, it wouldn't crank over fast enough to start. That happened twice and my dad pushed us with his JL. I think that it would have started in low range, but then we'd be creeping to a flat place to up shift and restart. I don't want to repeat hence the AA kit.

Yep pesos. I think it converted to just under $1000 USD.

Man, I like this rack with the opening sides. It would keep me from having to crawl around in the bed. It would also be nice to be able to access items in the inside of the swing up panels from outside. It also looks like a rear door could be fabricated fairly easily effectively protecting items in the bed from theft. They are in Mexico, I emailed them to see if they'd ship but did not receive a reply. I guess we might have to plan a trip to Mexico? I'm currently using a modified ladder rack. It does the job but not as good as this would.
