  1. i live on a small, isolated part of the coast (about 20,000 ppl). there are no roads out - just ferry boats. there's about 9 MJs here and 3 of them are mine. rust is an issue here.
  2. so i'm on ebay, looking for some stuff about that one particular cut'n'weld project (the red one), and i see my truck in an ad for stripe - decal kit. i'm sure this happens all the timeand they must have gotten the pic from flickr (or here). still made me laugh though, i took that pic the day i got that old truck that i paid $3oo. running and just wailed up into the bush , snapped a pic or two and now here it is in an ad . haha. http://cgi.ebay.ca/MJ-JEEP-PICK-UP-COMA ... 1|294%3A50

  5. i will definitely keep the 4 cyl in there. I'm very interested to see how it will drive and should find out this weekend as its going in to the shop to get motor-vated. my blue one is causing me mental anguish 'cause i can't get the papers for it, but its a wonderful truck and i hate to sell it or use it 4 parts (best running jeep i ever drove). i just can't stand the thought of slicing up a really great truck!(i put a couple of pics in the test section this morning). i see there's a 4x4 manche with no papers on bc4x4 -$300. (what am i saying ! - I'm like a junkie now!) LOL.

  7. where are you living now ? - i'd love to see this monstrosity in person. and i really do like those rocker/rails.
  8. THAT is a great find for that price, and would be even for more $ ------ nice.
  9. up here in the north ? i've seen a few beater MJs around here ive been thinking of making an offer on. never wanted to use one for parts but .......maybe. Hey shawn, Up here in the north.. I'm in Nanaimo and now I see that you are in Powell River, I hope to have this MJ ready for our club's Annual Camp & Crawl up there in Powell River.. the weekend AFTER.. the Long Weekend in September, It would be great if you could make it out.. If my MJ is not quite ready I will show up with one of my XJ's though so we are planning a big hoopLa Thanks shawn.. cheers  Brock i'd be very interested in meeting you and am excited to have a CC member so relatively close by. I just got back from a long stint in fort mac, so am happy to be able to start playing with my trucks again. - and am hoping that the wife is going to donate her xj sport to the cause. i just recently picked up an '86 4 cyl that i think is going to be THE one, - we'll see. -- (black on black, lwb, 5 spd). msn is my preffered means of communication btw.

  11. about this topic: there's a few thoughtful people on here - but only a few. legal drugs (alcohol and tobacco) have killed millions. pots killed zero. it's totally god-given and has numerous health benifits. the liquor store on the corner is the drug house we should be wary of. then again, maybe ignorance is bliss.
  12. right on man, nice work ! one day i will have a trailer.-I'm always on the lookout .
  13. that truck has a red interior ---- i'm alergic.
  14. well....... i have that aftermarket panel under the hood for hooking up other electrical goodies so i could use that 4 some things. - i have been talking to parts guys and my newest hope is to find a fusebox from a truck thats the same year, engine size, and tranny. having said that - i will ask here ( and in classifieds) - what i need is a fuse box (with as much wire hanging out as possible) from and '89 , 4.0, 5 spd comanche (4x4). i think that covers it for details, unless i'm issing something. H E L P !
  15. what about changing the box with one from an XJ of the same year? splicing wire for wire. would this give me a good start and simlify this job? should i be thinking about by-passing the fuse panel altogether for wipers and heater ( and a few other things) ?
  16. (all other replies greatly appreciated).
  17. ya. - i was wondering that myself , - since my fusebox is toast and causing all kinds of grief. i got some good answers on here about changing the box/panel but it seems like a task that is --- over my head. i'm going back to camp for a couple weeks and have beeen tempted to just leave it with my mechanic and see what he comes up with. - i just want my wipers to come back on ( among other things).
  18. boilermaker -thanx for that--- yes , i get that part now - ive never had a dash out and not looking 4ward to it but with some help i may b ok -its for my '89 and really , - the only thing wrong is the box itself needs to be fixed/replaced so it seems an awful shame that it requires so much hassels - but , oh-well ........ i have to go out of town in morn for a few days and when i return the snow will be gone and i will dive into it and do some recruiting (lol) thanx again , shawn. (all other replies greatly appreciated).
  19. absolutely overwhelming! - is there no other way to re and re a fuse panel? - and thank you vm for the responses btw.
  20. i see no evidence of it leaking ( but will check very closely asap) but it does seem more like it's damaged - ( like someone has stuck things in there). so the box can be changed ??
  21. thank you , - and welcome to the club ! - i see you joined today. ----- time and patience costs $80./hr so i was hoping for "click, click" . lol. if i grab one from an XJ , does this mean i have to splice it all up wire for wire? electrical is definitely not my forte.
