  1. the shifter says 2wd but its in 4 for sure, and making some horrible clicking, shaking, binding thing. i went under and shifted it into 2 on the linkage, reversed and it was in 2wd for that but as soon as it went into drive again, -same thing. and the shifter itself won't even go back more than a little bit (not as far as the neutral position).
  2. both are 231s. the 99 has just developed this weird thing like its part way into 4x4. gives of a weird "shaking) especially when cornering at low speed.this is coinciding with the transfercase shift lever suddenly "freezing up" -- I'm baffled!! so i have the '95 sitting in the yard and its always worked fine so am looking at pulling tc's (not something i've ever done, btw). so my first Q is will the 5 spd one fit on the auto tranny? and if so , is there anything i should be prepared for? thanx in advance--- all replies welcome.

  4. this would be a good place for gurus to chime in. especially since that amount of lift would be desired by many.
  5. right off the bat - no pics, sorry. I'm just putting this out there. i was on a long drive the other day from mcmurry to vancouver and when i pulled into edmonton the first thing i see is a black 91 elim sitting in a liquor store parking lot. in nice, stock condition but with a big dent in the right rear side of box. i left a note asking if they wanted to sell since i was gonna be in town all night. i drove by it about 8 hrs later and it was still there and so ws the note. i continued on my drive and 2 nights later i was just boarding a ferry in vancouver to go north and the ph rings. the guy said the starter gave out there and he just left it there and yes, he did want to sell. $400. by this time i was like a thousand or so miles away and not planning to return there any time soon that i know of. he seemed to have no interest in the truck and i got the feeling it may not meet a very nice fate. so i have his # if anyone is in the edmonton area. i really liked the look of this truck (except for the huge dent in the back of the box.)
  6. i live in a very small, isolated comunity up the west coast and theres about 10 here (3 of them are mine). theres quite a few on vancouver island too. ive missed quite a few deals by being dumb, cheap , slow or lazy. ( and sometimes too lazy to give the needed long explanation to the wife--lol) .
  7. thank you !!!

  15. illegal drugs and pointless violence from the revenuer man. (which of course makes it more fun, lol) the helicopters will be here next month to do their anual snatch-and-grab of some of the pot that ppl grow around here. -same $#!&, -different drug. copperheadroad.lol.
  16. i liked comanche county's idea about the ford f350 rear links. i don't have experience with them but i noticed on my 3" lifted one that that is where the tires rubbed and it didnt take much of an extention to get them out of the way. if i was you i would try 2" longer ones and i think the swaybar would be sitting just about right to be out of the way. - cheap fix. looking at your truck with 2" and 31s, - thats exactly what i want to do with my white one so you are kinda reminding me that i will probably need to do just what we are discussing. -- i had not thought about it until now. ------- good luck and let us know how it works out.
  17. i think if your links are 2"longer then the tires won't rub there at all. i had something very similar on a 3"lift . on removing them : i drove an xj (stock height) from vancouver to edmonton with the swaybar disconnected. ------- never again !!!! it was like a ride at the fair - a very unpleasant one!
  18. wasnt there something about TJ ones being about 2" longer? seems like that would be perfect addition to the spacers.
