  3. i have been looking for some gamblers for a while and found these on craigslist. $120 for 5 and they came with some 30% 31" a/t's. they guy had 10 of them. the other 5 were for his totally mint and built 89 mj. - front leafs and 38s on gamblers. also stopped at an auto wrecker that specializes in jeeps (gary's in mapleridge b.c.), and picked up a bumper, gas tank (with skid-plate)
  4. 2" chev drop shackles : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/88-07-CH ... ccessories was very pleased with the service, price and quality.
  5. a reference pic for the 32s
  6. same . i went and picked up some gamblers from craigslist the other day and the kid had a nice , built xj in the yard and i complimented it. - he said he had a comanche in his shop. i said lets go look and when we got inside , he had a totally built and beauty mj on 38s with front leafs, more gamblers, - just beautiful. but had no interst in CC or any other jeep forum. well, he sold me 5 wheels with 3 good 31's for $120 and he still had 5 gamlers left over for himself.
  7. from the pics it looks like it will bolt in fine, but looks like the filler will be waaaaay too far forward. ?? looking forward to tryiing it but it will be a few days yet as my back has gone "out' and its very bad weather here right now. i have my figers crossed that it will work.
  8. added a few things : chevy drop shackles, spring spacers, wj lca's and 32" tires plus made a nifty box for the back to keep chainsaw and all kinds of gear in. also added a boxliner.
  9. ........... and if so, does it have to be from a 4 cyl?
  10. thanks rob. flickr has changed,so maybe i should be looking into having pics hosted somewhere else. --- its used to be simple but ................................... now.

  14. I'm thinking that the np 207 on my 86 (2.5) may be going bad (terrible grinding sound now coming out when in 2wd) and am wondering if its possible to use a 231 in its place.
  15. thanks jimoshel, it was your fuel-tank pic-post i was looking at but that was about doing the opposite. - putting the big one in the swb.
  16. my tank is pretty grungy in the 86 and my neighbour who rolled his 88 swb has a brand new tank, so I'm wondering if it will bolt in without hasses. -thanks. ps - i did the search and found the different lenghts from the filler to the ends of the tank.
  17. not to keep messing up this post, but when i went to shift into 4 today there was no 4 ( just like before when the collar slid back over). took the cad cover off and the fork was broken ! i don't know if the clamp i put on had anything to do with that or not. in reading the tec section i see that its mentioned that simply putting the vac on upside down will keep the collar over to the engaged side. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... le#p259522

i've always been a big subaru fan, but I'm not all that excited about that one. I'm sure its smokin'-good and state-of-the-art, but the actual style isnt really much different than other new cars on the market. i've had my share of those boxy wagons from the 90's though, and had fantastic luck and good times with them.
  20. thats actually true. you just don't hear of innocent ppl getting invaded. the news likes to keep us all paranoid and distrusting of our neighbours. - its good for their business.
  21. on my other jeep forums (including the little local one) you can upload pics right off of your hard drive. -- no photobucket or flickr needed. that is something i think we all would like. here's an example : http://weekendwheeling.com/index.php
  22. not worth it at all. Unless for some reason you wanted 2wd LOW. wouldnt another reason be (neighbour gave me this idea) to have the front diff welded and then use th cable actuator as a "locker" ?
