that is truly unfathomable to me. lookin at the pics now. hope everyone's all right.
  3. it's physically hurting me not to go look at this. http://victoria.en.craigslist.ca/cto/2383756014.html
  4. the chevy drop-shackles that were on the back had another set of holes 1-1/2 an inch up so today i changed that which brought the rear down 3/4 of an inch and i am happier with its stance now for the time being. (thanks for the idea, george). also put in a new stereo today which makes me much happier. so with the 4 suburban leafs and the mj over-loads and these shackles, in this cofiguration , with soa it sits at 4 1/2" at the back. this is on 32s i am dreaming of a well-done bed-bob. also ordered some new switches, so my interior lights will actually come on when i open the doors.
  5. I'm guessing that the area where the seal seats ( just inside the tube from the pumpkin) is a larger diameter (or smaller) than where the old seal was (just inside from the vacuum disconnect opening?
  6. you gentlemen have been gurus. thank you.  is any dremelling or grinding needed or will it just tap right in ?
  7. so here's some embarassment. i got the axle seal and dropped it off at the shop with the one piece axle. mechanic says its wrong and won't fit. everyones in a hurry to get the day over and weekend to begin. so he just installs it as if it was the old, 2 piece one. now he's gone for a week and i see oil leaking out. I'm thinking that he wasnt installing the seal in the apropriate location. the part # for the seal is right (11771). i understand it to go just in from the pumpkin ? if anyone could give me some specific ( and i do mean specific, lol) instructions for this , it would be greatly appreciated.
  8. rubicon auto-disconnecting sway bars. ------ push of a button!
  9. yup. smaller u-joints in that particular '95.
  10. boycotted it years ago (mostly for privacy reasons), but i always like to post this when the topic comes up. http://www.albumoftheday.com/facebook/
  11. excellent write-up.thank you. i just happen to have a 95 parts xj so I'm looking forward to seeing how this works. looks identical to the wj one that was shown.
  12. that looks like excellent stuff. - may have to get some for next time I'm doing a "fix-up".
  13. can someone post the link or pics that show the plumbing for the xj distribution block mod plz? -the one that looks like this (but for the xj) : http://home.comcast.net/~MrJTime/Jeep/R ... 0Valve.JPG i have been search for an hr. and will definitely save it this time (promis-lol). thanks , shawn.
  14. at that price, buy both of them in case your front ratio is a different one!
  15. if it's a 91 or 92 then it's gonna be HO.
  16. i see tons of potential. that could be a great find (depending on the money). is / was that an eliminator? year ?
  17. thanx devon. i left vancouver a couple months ago and been working at home on the sun-coast. trying to stay here for the summer.
  18. i ended up doing the suburban springs ( got them free from a local club (weekendwheeling) member. they are from a 3/4 ton so i used 4 leafs from the pack (including the main) plus the mj over-load.in that configuration they gave me 0" lift but give an excellent ride. these picks are with 32s.
  19. oxygen sensor- mines been doing that too and that was what was told to me.
  20. thank you roger, will find out what I'm dealing with tomorrow i guess. been waiting for an excuse to upgrade to the 1 piece axle anyway so things are already looking up. hoping to get some joints that will last is all.
  21. very cool. - i did write that # down from your build thread, but i didnt get (understand) the NOS part. ----- will grab it in the morning. -thanks again!
  22. i have the axles from the 95 out and waiting in the shop. ----- drivers side needs a u joint and the other is fine. i can't tell by eye if the joints are any bigger than the ones in the 86 but i understand them to be.. i saw another different part # in reference to the seal needed for the pass-side somewhere in a thread, but can't find it with the search. my local supply store consists of NAPA so am hoping to be able to go in and give them a #, so if anyone can chime -in, plz do so. this truck has been seeing a lot of hard use lately and I'm wondering if i should be looking at the spicer u-joints. -again, anyone who wants to chime-in, - feel free. thanks, shawn.
