Ya, its like the grill insert is 98% smaller than the original. I'm guessing they made a mold off of an original part, and then when the injected plastic cooled, it shrank. Leaving us with an exact duplicate, just scaled down. Like you I was planning on cutting it in half so that I could get the two pieces to fit behind the grill and boltup. Also, I got the stuff from you, I'm really surprised, those mirrors look REALLY good, much better than I thought they would. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of them. I too was surprised by the mirrors. O/T Alex said they wouldn't give me any credit on the broken headers and when I told them how crappy the fenders fit they seemed to get all offended... now they won't email me back. So, I don't see myself doing anymore business with them in the future. I guess the thing that blows is that I have some extra fenders and mismatched lamps and won't be able to get the mate. Well, I guess we better plan on only getting drivers side headlights busted out.

I agree, I actually deduct from the price if the vehicle has been lifted or otherwise modified.

And the 5.9. 5.9 for the 98 model year only Yes, and it was the first time the Silver stars were offered as a wheel option.

Well Zeus is at the vet now with a Urinary Tract Infection. Going to draw a urine sample and do a UA. Looks like he might have caught something from Sandy, that little slut.

I've been wrong before ... I went and verified it, 93-95 did not have flip up glass.

Lets see, he was neutered in late september. Born in early jan, so he was about 8.5 months old when he was neutered.

The 30" tires will be fine on it. They are hardly any bigger than 235/75s, just a fraction of an inch wider. I agree on ditching the lift, though. Should be easy to remove -- probably four coil spacers. My guess is it's a 93. The 93 didn't have flip-up glass in the tailgate, and this one doesn't seem to have hinges on the top of the rear glass. I thought the flip up glass didn't start until 96?

So I've been taking care of my parents dog while they are moving. Well last week she went into her first heat cycle. So my dog Zeus, was neutered, but can still obviously pick up on the smell. Well a couple of days ago she got to the point in her cycle where she started letting Zeus mount her. Well thats fine and all, its not like he can do anything, and he humps for anywhere between 2-20 seconds. Well today they had been humping on and off, then a little while ago I look over and notice Zeus is really going at it, then about 2 seconds later Sandy starts yelping continuously. And tries to get away. Turns out they were stuck together:yuk: Poor Sandy(who is in her first heat cycle), was freaking out pretty bad and trying to get away. Had to hold her and keep her from trying to get away until the knot went away. So ya, that was fun. I didn't think Zeus had it in him. Gonna have to keep an eye on him from now on.

This is very typical at high elevations in the mountains. Often times many of the more popular 4wd passes here in colorado have to be cleared so they can be open for travel in june.

Ah gotcha, when reading through it the last thing I read was "Third kid on the way and my 01 Cherokee isn't big enough for her." Which made it sound like thats what you were getting rid of. WJ's can be had here from 3k+, I think you get a lot more vehicle with a WJ over a ZJ, but it also kinda depends on how its optioned. One thing I have to say is look for a 96+ ZJ, I think the dual airbags and other creature comforts that come on the 96+ ZJs are worth it. And of course, theres always the 5.9 ZJ.
-
You need to keep your XJ. If WJ's are out of your price range(and they are pretty cheap these days) then buying an older ZJ isn't going to be any better than an XJ. Ya a ZJ has a little more rear leg room, but you got kids with little legs, ya if you have a car seat it will be a little easier to get it in and out of the back of a cherokee. With three kids man you need something with more room. And if you need something cheap I would look for an older used ford taurus wagon or Subaru wagon. I'm not sure what your motivations are for getting a different vehicle other than the XJ. But IMO an older ZJ isn't any better, and your just going to be trading a reliable known vehicle for an unknown vehicle with potential repairs ahead. Unless there is something you aren't telling us. The smartest thing for you to do is keep the XJ.

Ya, I'm pretty sure there is no way he could have left any kind of feedback about me, unless it was just in rants and raves, which doesn't really matter as anything he would have posted with personal information would be deleted. It sounds like he sent that last email because he was just reeling mad and wanted to get back at me somehow. I guess he figured the lie about "reporting me to craigslist.com" would make me upset. Maybe I should have suggested that if he really was upset he go report me to the internet. :rotf:

He sounded young, and he is obviously pretty immature. Anyone else catch the irony in him saying he was a courteous person?(as he swears and curses at me) He had his friend call me, and try to get me to bring it to him. When that wasn't working out his friend said he would call me back. I never heard back, finally late in the evening the guy called back and said his friend wasn't going to be able to make it(I didn't hear the phone ring at the time so I called him back a short while later). When he answered the phone I said something to the effect of: "Hi Zach its Sam with the Yakima." Zach :"Hi Sam how are you?" "I'm doing just fine." (I wait for him to talk, after all he is the one who wants this from me), finally after a long pause he says: "Soo, what do you want to do?" :wall: :wall: :wall: You tell me what you want to do, I'm the one calling you back because I missed your call.

AX-15 max input torque?
Sir Sam replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The Jeep NV3550 is used behind the VM 2.5 CRD in the KJ. The engine torque output is ~270 ft-lbs. Thats factory. If Jeep engineers threw the NV3550 behind a diesel engine with 270 ft-lbs at whatever low RPM it tops out at and expected it to last any length of time I suspect it will be fine running ~275-280. Also, if you need to clock the transfer case differently on the trans you can redrill the trans, that way you don't loose any spline engagement with the spacer/clocker. Apparently you posted this both on naxja and here. :waving: -
I believe the correct spelling is Douchebag. :rotf: Man, I tried posting this three times before I was finally able to get it online, the first two times the computer just turned its self off, also those first two times it was speeled correctly.

Ya if I could have figured out something to do with color in my house I would have gotten something else. I just got some white as I need to repaint my exterior trim on the back of my house around my doors and windows. Ya I know its not exterior paint, but I figure its free and its better than what I have now.

Ok so I had a Yakima SpaceBooster for sale on CL for $150, I had a guy interested who wanted it come saturday. I told him I had people interested in it and I would not hold it for him. Low and behold someone else emailed me, called me up, and came over right away. No hassle, no drama, sold. Me being a courtious seller email this other guy back and let him know its been sold, to which he emails back: To which I send no reply, then this evening after house hunting all day I get back to the hotel, and check my email, to which he sent another email: (oh no, he reported me to craigslist.com!) So my question is, should should I switch to Mobile 1 in my Jeep or keep using the diesel rated Delo that I have been using? And if anyone cares, this is the email chain leading up to this: i am a courteous person and wanted you to know that I reported you to craigslist.com as a ****ty seller. have good mosh pitting. i hope this reflects on you. thanks again for wasting my time. I may be here or I may need to goto colorado springs. If I do goto colorado springs I would probably be back here sunday mid day. I should know pretty soon if I need to goto Colorado Springs. -Sam From: roofdog14@hotmail.com To: zlusterdenver@hotmail.com Subject: RE: Yakima SpaceBooster - $150 (Fort Collins) Date: Thu, 25 Jun 2009 09:42:09 -0500 sam, don't know if you got my message yesterday, but obviously my buddy didn't make it to retrieve the box. what does your schedule look like so that i can make it up there from denver to get it? thank! Zach From: zlusterdenver@hotmail.com To: roofdog14@hotmail.com Subject: RE: Yakima SpaceBooster - $150 (Fort Collins) Date: Tue, 23 Jun 2009 11:55:04 -0700 Zach, That is the mount in the most closed position. When its closed like in those photos it will clamp down onto something about an inch thick. Saturday would probably work for me. Though I cannot guarantee I will still have it. I have had quite a bit of interest in it and would prefer to sell it sooner rather than later and at this point I am not willing to hold it for someone. So caveat emptor, though don't think it will likely sell this week. -Sam From: roofdog14@hotmail.com To: zlusterdenver@hotmail.com Subject: RE: Yakima SpaceBooster - $150 (Fort Collins) Date: Tue, 23 Jun 2009 13:25:33 -0500 sam, is there any way that you can take a picture of the quick grip clamps and measure it? i could come up to ft. fun on saturday at the soonest. let me know. thanks! I have a key for it. I will take $100 if its a quick and easy transaction. -Sam From: roofdog14@hotmail.com To: zlusterdenver@hotmail.com Subject: RE: Yakima SpaceBooster - $150 (Fort Collins) Date: Tue, 23 Jun 2009 12:42:09 -0500 sorry to ask more questions... do you know the dimensions? cubic foot storage capacity? (i looked on the yakima website and they no longer sell the space booster) i am assuming that you have the key(s)? would you take $100? Zach From: zlusterdenver@hotmail.com To: roofdog14@hotmail.com Subject: RE: Yakima SpaceBooster - $150 (Fort Collins) Date: Tue, 23 Jun 2009 10:05:08 -0700 I've had the box for about 6 months, I think overall it is about a year to a year and a half old, it does not show much UV-sun wear as older boxes do. The box still opens and closes fine, the crack doesn't effect that. My plan was to scuff the area on the inside of the box, and apply some JB weld over the crack on the inside to make sure it never spread or became a problem. It has a single lock, you put the key in, turn it, and you can open it, then you close the box, turn the key back, and you can remove the key. The only way the box can be fully closed is if it is locked. The only way it can be open is with the key in. I am flexible on the price, but sorry I have no need for a ski rack, I'm not a skier. -Sam From: roofdog14@hotmail.com To: zlusterdenver@hotmail.com Subject: RE: Yakima SpaceBooster - $150 (Fort Collins) Date: Tue, 23 Jun 2009 11:33:18 -0500 sam, thanks for the quick response! the description is perfect - i don't want to have to deal with the metal bars and wing nuts. about how old is the box? how much does the crack effect the lid when opening and closing? does it have locks? are you flexible on the price? i have a yakima ski rack that i would be willing to put into the deal if you need one. cheers! Zach From: zlusterdenver@hotmail.com To: roofdog14@hotmail.com Subject: RE: Yakima SpaceBooster - $150 (Fort Collins) Date: Tue, 23 Jun 2009 09:07:35 -0700 It has a quick grip mount. I can only describe it as a hinged "C" that locks in place over your bars. Should be pretty universal fit type of thing. Though obvously I cannot guaruntee it will fit your application. -sam From: roofdog14@hotmail.com To: sale-znufc-1234538765@craigslist.org Subject: Yakima SpaceBooster - $150 (Fort Collins) Date: Tue, 23 Jun 2009 10:54:24 -0500 ** CRAIGSLIST ADVISORY --- AVOID SCAMS BY DEALING LOCALLY ** Avoid: wiring money, cross-border deals, work-at-home ** Beware: cashier checks, money orders, escrow, shipping ** More Info: http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams.html do you still have this? how does the box attach to the crossbars? is it a quick-grip handle or a nut & bolt system? thanks!
