  1. Thats exactly want I want for my MJ, too bad I cannot find one locally(and I'm not in a position to travel right now).
  2. It doesn't work that way. There is the energy in the wave, and there is the wavelength, microwaves work because that wavelength excites water molecules in food/whatever, microwaves work less effectively, (much less effectively) on other polarized particles. Solar radiation, for example, has an intensity of 10,000 times what a cell phone will put out(around 100Watts/square meter), yet no one is concerned about solar radiation causing brain cancer. The take home point here is that you could use a million cell phones and they still don't transmit on the wavelength that will excite water molecules. And while we are on the subject, living below power lines and TV antenna's doesn't cause cancer.
  3. It's a fake, and this one actually is: http://www.snopes.com/science/cookegg.asp (look towards the bottom for the popcorn)
  4. 25 MPG from Flagstaff AZ to ABQ NM. Had a slight tailwind from ABQ to Raton CO, then a STRONG headwind from Walsenburg to Colorado Springs. I25 was closed down so I'm back to colorado springs for now. Between the vicious headwind last night and the 4WD use today my milage dropped just below 25, 24.8 on the last tank. Dangit, really wanted to see another solid above 25 tank. Also, 2300 RPM @ 80MPH.
  5. RPM? I think about 2500. Driving 65mph on this trip would have cost me 5 more hours of drive time(round trip) and saved me about $40. When fuel goes up in price the math becomes more favorable. But for now I can live with 24mpg at 80 mph in a jeep. =)
  6. Spring break, driving the kj crd, going hiking in the grand canyon. First tank, went to fill up with b20 only to find that station has switched to a different supplier and only sells b2, grrrr. I don't get over there very often because it's on the other side of town, now I guess I don't have any reason to go over there. First tank- fort Collins co to Santa fe nm, 24.3 mpg. Second tank Santa fe to Williams az, 24.2 mpg. Drove along at 80-90 for the first tank, and had the cruise set at 80 for the second tank. Not too bad, I am running without the Thule, which saves me about 3 MPG. Someday, maybe when diesel gets expensive enough again, I will do a road test at 65 mph and see how much it improves. So now I am at the south rim of the grand canyon, have Sunday and Monday night at bright angel campground and then Tuesday night at Indian gardens. What an easy hike! All corridor trails, and they sell beer at phantom ranch. I'm gonna lay in the sun all day and eat food and then drink some beer in the evening. Untill me meet again brothers. -Sam
  7. so whats the job?
  8. Ah yes, the long trails, love those tires, quite, smooth, good for gas mileage, heavy duty. Yup, like em alot, just took a set off my XJ with about 50k miles on them, still about 1/3 of the tread left. Have had them on 3 XJs and my KJ.
  9. "Quick Ned thin out their numbers!" I was hiking in Rocky Mountain National park, way way up high, after crossing the continental divide and just as we got into the tree line we stopped to take a break at a small lake. This guy who was camped nearby came along and started making conversion with us(we had been enjoying the tranquility and the view), a little while into the conversion he went and said "Man this is pretty and all, but we gotta cut down some trees!" He then went on about some ski-lodges that can been blown up. Nutcase from Alabama, or Arkansas, or something like that, wanting to cut down my trees.
  10. I guess it will do until you can find a stock wheel.
  11. Malaprop? One of my favorite words, but my roomate gives me ample opportunities to use it.
  12. You saw me?!?!?!!!!1!!!!!
  13. Perfect time for this definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malaprop
  14. Still looks terrible.
  15. Seriously? You needed a dictionary for that?
  16. I was under the impression that any "factory" RHD vehicle was to be registered as a "special use" vehicle (mail delivery, etc) or for export only. I remember seeing a RHD tj for sale that I thought was the coolest thing ever, especially for the price they were asking, but upon doing the research thats what I found out...Maybe it varies state to state :hmm: It sure would be fun just to have something different; I remember getting a shotgun ride in an SUV driving across Australia once...definately had to re-tune the brain a little cause it felt so...wrong :rotf: Nope, they are regular vehicles, with regular titles, you can special order the JK right now with it. Now the vehicle you may have found might have had "special use" plates on it. But tthey don't have to be registered that way. There are lots of factory RHD XJs running around in NA, along with lots of the conversions like pictured above, they make pretty good mail vehicles. That and RHD subarus..... I also see parking enforcement in RHD TJ's..........
  17. This is a pretty common conversion the XJs. For the record, RHD XJs, TJs, and JKs are/were sold in this country for anyone to buy. I also see RHD subarus around for mail use.
  18. Where is the option for "looked at it wrong"?

    New tires:

I installed all the center caps when I put the tires on, I promptly lost 2. They were in my other wheels for years, and then when I removed the centercap and reinstalled them I suddenly lost them, I think the springy-ness of the cap had degraded over 10 years, and when I removed them I put the final nail in the coffin. Guess I'll buy some new ones.
  21. My 2000 yellow XJ Freedom is posted above.
  22. Nah, silverstars are better. More tires are availible and they fit more vehicles.
  23. Sir Sam

    New tires:

Finally managed to take some pics on the Jeep today:
  24. I spy a silverstar on your truck! My favorite wheel ever!
