  1. And look his dome lights work and aren't falling out. :wavey: WELCOME
  2. I'm not sure about the laws in many states regarding this, not even my own, but car builders are still doing it. My wife's 99 full size conversion van has the same set up as well as my boss's wife's 2004 toyota pick up.:dunno: I guess manufactures figure it's a cheap solution to where to mount the needed spare.
  3. Not sure about the newer one's but the '86 I had, had a np207 bolted to a ax 5. Don't know if that helps you or not. Just an FYI I guess.
  4. That's why I like this forum over some others I've visited, common courtesy.
  5. Boy do those bad areas on the floor look familiar. Your work looks really nice, wish I could get mine to look like that. Mine are patched but not as nice as your's.
  6. Doesn't look bad but I think it is to rounded for the MJ look. Just my humble opinion.
  7. Here's a good one for everyone. Was driving home Sunday and got pulled over because I was driving my manche. Who would've guessed something like that could happen, came to find out that there had been a robbery and they had pictures of a dark colored Jeep pick up that was involved, mine is black, and the police were pulling over all the Jeep pick ups that they saw and taking photos to compare to the pictures they had. I didn't know that there were that many dark Comanches in my area. Just lucky I don't have a ladder rack on mine because the one they were looking for had one. I guess our MJ's are more popular than I thought.
  8. I wanna know how it would do on the trail? :hmm:
  9. Already did it, makes a world of difference. :clapping:
  10. :fs1: :fs1: :wall: :wall: :headpop: :headpop: Now where we gonna get the ones we need?
  11. You can try here for your parts and service manuals: http://www.greatlakesxj.com/tech.html Hope this helps
  12. Was always wondering if that could be done Pete, now I know.
  13. If the donor is at the JY you may want to take the plug with you also. I have found this to be useful, and that way you have it if yours doesn't, making the wiring for it a little easier. :wavey:
  14. Just thought I'd throw this in here to help. If you know the size of the hardware you need here are a couple of useful links: http://www.mcmaster.com/ this is the on i usually use, http://www.smallparts.com/ http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRHM, If you have a SEARS hardware near by they usually have a very good selection up to 5/8 or 3/4 "and 10 to 13 mm.
  15. The light should have a type of mercury switch that opens the circuit when the hood is closed there by turning the light off, IIRC.
  16. I am planning on checking and repairing the grounds on my 88 Comanche. I think i know where most of them are or will be able to find them. I read that the ground strap from the engine to the body should be upgraded but would like to know what to replace it with? If there are any grounds, other than the one behind the taillights, that are hidden, not readily visible, can someone please advise me? I have just found out that there is one under the coolant bottle and one under the washer bottle (thanks 88xj sport) Thank you for your help
  17. The nuts come out from under the seat, there are studs attached to the floor. If you are going to clean or replace the carpet anyway, use PB Blaster on the nuts to help loosen them. I believe the nuts are 13mm but not 100% sure. Also be aware that if the nuts are extremely rusted the studs may break free from the floor, don't ask how I know that. :hmm:
  18. Can't help much with your Cali. trip, however I do live in North East(yes that's the name of the town) MD. So if you do go to DC later this year or is it next year :dunno: keep me informed and if you need help you sure will be able to call me, although DC is still 2 hours or so away not to far to help out a fellow jeeper.
  19. Anything but red
