Is that info in the top the time of production, or when they printed it? Most of it is code ... the sheet I found looks like yours (except the big hole where the window crank shaft went through it).
-
So, I'm installing my new found country door cards, and I discover the Vehicle Production Broadcast. It's a legal size tractor-feed sheet, taped to the back of the drivers side card. It has the VIN, the time and date it was printed, and the rest is a combination of Gaelic, Pig Latin and Swahili. Anyone know how to read these?

Achieved door panel nirvana today with the generosity of one, and the help of a few ComancheClub contributors. My thanks to one and all. This is a great forum, with a better following. Pictures of the project will be coming (as it progresses and when I get time to figure out photobucket).

Steering Column Tilt Bolts?
NHMJXJ replied to Comanchecatcher's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
As in all instances, I have more time than money. Which is more cost effective ... buying rebuilt, or having it serviced? I can polish a turd, but I'm not much of a mechanic. I was thrilled with myself for changing my starter. -
Steering Column Tilt Bolts?
NHMJXJ replied to Comanchecatcher's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hmmm ... steering column tilt bolts. Might these be the culprits causing my steering wheel to go wiggity wiggity? My truck has a column shifter with tilt, and the steering wheel tilts in every direction. I have to lift it slightly to toggle from high to low beam too. Most importantly, is this safe to drive? -
The next time it's up, someone please post the pics! The post keeps getting flagged, but the author has a cult following. People have posted bashing the flaggers of the listing. Funny as hell!

"Brain Droppings" ... Yes, it's hysterical.

Thanks for the link ... I genuinely appreciate the time you take to moderate and research. With regard to new stuff ... Yikes! 80 bucks per side before shipping. C'monnnnnnn powerball!

Straight, Clean 90 Pioneer In Gainesville, Fl
NHMJXJ replied to NHMJXJ's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
There is that. :laughin: -
Hopefully, this guy will run for Congress! He is laid back, looks intelligent, and appears to have what most current politicians lack.
-
Did you throw him an offer? Most people selling on CL want a local sale, so convincing them to ship usually equates to $$$. Not crying poor, but I have more time than money. Might help to know what he "won't" accept. Send me a PM

'best Offer Over $20,000'
NHMJXJ replied to Automan2164's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Best offer "over" $20K??? Now that's eternal optimism. -
My '88 Eliminator had solid headrests. The height was adjustable, but no opening like the pic Girs posted.

<<<< LOVE the color.

Girs ... I would think that's stock tint (maybe 35%). It just looks dark laying on the ground without any backlighting. I did speak with the CL seller Butchershop posted (thanks, by the way), who said he'd had some interest. He didn't shut me off though, so there's still a chance. Meanwhile, I'm still looking, so if anyone has a lead I'd appreciate the tip!

I was leary of aftermarket header panels until I used one on my 88 Eliminator. I bought an entire assembly on ebay. Fitment was tight and it came with chrome grill, headlight doors, marker lights and directionals. Might be a good option for you if your wheelin' habit breaks stuff. Here's a white one, $104 with free shipping. >>> http://www.ebay.com/itm/91-96-JEEP-CHEROKEE-HEADER-PANEL-WHITE-GRILLE-BLK-2PCS-/270753540093?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1996%7CMake%3AJeep%7CModel%3ACherokee&hash=item3f0a2b27fd&vxp=mtr#ht_3787wt_903

I haven't responded to the CL post. I wonder if they'll break up the set?
-
Friends :agree: Leaf nuts! I've run into this on my last two XJ's. Clearly they were NOT thinking.

Hey, that would be great! Thank you. I sent a message to someone on eBay who has a rear door card. He wrote back saying the fronts were gone. I'm including the link to their auction as a reference for the color/style. Please keep me posted! http://www.ebay.com/itm/271270973815?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_50wt_686

Nicest Laredo. Greeneville Tn.
NHMJXJ replied to shawn's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I've only seen one other Laredo before ... silver on red (loathe the red interior), and like this one, it had buzz windows and all the other creature comforts/desirable features ... AC, cruise, buckets, floor shift. I just don't get why they didn't make more in this trim level. It's pretty much everything I want to do to mine. Even has the right wheels. Looks like it has a lift too? -
Ah yes, but a picture tells a thousand words. Yours are great! I've clicked the "image" icon and CC prompts you to enter a URL. I assume that's where you include the link to photobucket. Back on subject ... if you discover they door cards you have are in decent shape, I'm all over them! While I don't see myself in CO any time in the near future, shipping would be in order and it would have to be cheaper than shipping the doors!
