  1. Looks like he'll be keeping it. Updated content in the ebay auction reads "will not accept 6K offers". I'd bet the tire and wheel take-off package he's got on it was $1200 ... that and $4800 for the truck seems like a pretty generous offer to me. Just sayin'.
  2. It's on ebay now with a "buy it now" price of $7495 ... still overpriced. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Comanche-PIONEER-1988-jeep-comanche-pioneer-pickup-truck-with-41588-original-miles-/171519117031?forcerrptr=true&hash=item27ef5606e7&item=171519117031&pt=US_Cars_Trucks#ht_623wt_925
  3. Got a good lead on a repairable XJ from Strokermjcomanche
  4. I search all the major sites daily (eBay, Cars.com, Autotrader ...etc.) ... hoping a CC member might spy something in their neighborhood that will fit the bill. Specifically, I'm looking for a clean, unmolested, original, 97-01 4WD XJ 2 door. More specifically ... NO red* vehicles (*any shade). Blue, Green, Silver, Black, White OK. MUSTS: Auto. Clean in and out. Unmolested. All factory options in working order. NO red. "Wants": Auto, Cruise and privacy glass. If it has those options, it has the others I want. Under 150K miles, nearly rust free, CLEAN interior ... no rips, cracks, tears, stains or odors. NO evidence of smoke/fur/feathers/diapers. A little history: An idiot in an F150 destroyed my perfectly good '99 XJ two door. It was my DD and while his insurance paid in full, I was pressed for time to replace it. I had a rental for a month and looked at nearly 50 XJ's from RI to ME. I found a nice 4 door in my own back yard which is my current DD, but I have continued my search. Recently posted in the Pub hoping someone local to a vehicle I found online could take a look for me. Kind of got me thinking about this request. More is better and I know the CC community looks when they see a decent jeep vehicle, MJ or not. Keep your eyes pealed! I am prepared to fly and drive, or transport.
  5. I noticed that too ... I think it's a reflection, but I can't make it out. Coincidence that it falls in nearly the exact same spot on both sides. The hard body line is intact.
  6. Personal preference like anything else. They blend into the bodylines perfectly and are alot easier to replace!
  7. True story, but I'll enjoy the lower prices. Time to look at heating oil! Hard to get excited over $3.00/gal for gas. Been buying gas for 35 years & I remember when ...
  8. Kind of odd choices ... changed out header panel and doors, but not the fenders. Maybe they spent too much time on the taillights, which I love! Anyone have an idea what the rear bumper came off ... it fits great.
  9. California tags. Pretty cool, too bad about the color. http://tijuana.craigslist.com.mx/cto/4657105979.html

  11. Santa? Too funny!
  12. I would think with the correct box, notching wouldn't be necessary either. That didn't cross my mind when I harvested the console. I did think to take the seat belt receivers for the buckets, only to discover later that the male end of a '90 MJ won't fit in the female receiver of a '96 XJ.
  13. I asked Hornbrod moons ago what he used (didn't get the back story though) :rotf: Save a trip to Ikea ... this is what I used >>> http://www.ebay.com/itm/370969757105?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT#ht_2332wt_803
  14. I put a '96 XJ full console in my truck ... only thing I did was notch the front to clear the floor heat vent box.
  15. Yeaahh ... No. The color, condition and mileage demand a premium. It's clean, but not close to 10K clean.
  16. Lookin' good! Like those wheels too, but I'm biased.
  17. Oh mannn that sucks. So, your build thread has gone from painfully slow to just plain old painful. Sorry to hear that BIGHEEP ... heal up quick!
  18. I found the Jeep on Casforsale.com ... The listing is for Best Cars Inc., 1674 7th Street South in Clanton, but the sales guy said the vehicle was at their lot in Millbrook. Hornbrod suggested I contact you. I did a google search and it appears you're some 60+ miles from the dealership. Kind of a trek to kick tires.
  19. Good idea! I'm in.
  20. Greetings ... Anyone willing to do some reconnaissance for me? There's an 01 XJ on a lot down there that has my interest. I've bought vehicles from a distance before (my current MJ for example), but it would be nice to have a trusted Jeep enthusiast take a look at this buggy. Give me a push, or talk me off the ledge! Rusted Out MJ

According to eBay, there's $200 worth of taillights there.

    Rusted Out MJ

Perfect for Halloween, 'cause that thing is scary!
  23. Auction ended/expired with "reserve not met", so it will likely be back. Looks like a dealership listing too.
  24. There's proof. This place is full of subject matter experts. I did put the Tcase in neutral and the shaft wouldn't spin. Only had a little daylight left, so I got both rear wheels off the ground. With the wheels able to spin freely, I could hand turn the yoke on the rear end to mate with the new u-joint. I slid the driveshaft in, lined up the u-joint and in it went. This must have been a progressive event because my truck never felt smooth, but it rides absolutely vibration free now.
