Hi from NH and a bunch of questions
NHMJXJ replied to NHAkita's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I go to that show almost every year. Missed it last year. -
Damn, that's a good lookin' truck. Oh, right, mirrors. We were talkin' 'bout mirrors.
-
Seems as good a place as any ... couple questions about using 97+ mirrors on the original door. Are they available in manual remote adjust and can someone point out a thread that has instructions for swapping them out? Please and thank you. Tim

Could it have been a CIA hit pulled off by none other than Chuck Barris? :???: There's a film that alleges Chuck Barris was secretly a CIA assassin. "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind"

About four thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel , "Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, (when Welfare was introduced) Roosevelt said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses and light up a Camel, this is the Promised Land." Today, Congress has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of Camels and mortgaged the Promised Land! I was so depressed last night thinking about healthcare plans, the economy, lost jobs, savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc. ... I called a Suicide Hotline. I had to press 1 for English. I was connected to a call center in Pakistan … I told them I was suicidal. They got excited and asked if I could drive a truck. Folks, we're screwed.

New Hampshire does not require proof of insurance when registering your vehicle. However, operators are required to show proof of insurance and/or proof of financial responsibility if they're invloved in an MVA or are stopped for a violation. My insurance requires that I carry uninsured motorist coverage and my deductible was waved. When I was hit, the driver told me and the LEO he didn't have his insurance card. He told me he would text his policy information later in the day. Not a word/letter. I texted him that evening, then called him the next morning. Got a text back stating there was "a conflict" with his policy and he would contact me when it was resolved. Days later, still no word. Whatever carrier he has for cell service provides opportunity to enter a call back number. I entered the number for the Derry, New Hampshire Police Department. Got a call almost immediately. "I had automatic payment set up from a closed checking account", was the explanation for the lapse in his insurance. Not my problem. The police report does state that he was issued a citation for traveling too close. Here's the kicker. I was on my way to work last Thursday in the rental and guess who was riding my bumper? This guy has a problem.

Okay, so I just figured out how to "follow" a thread (only took two years ) . I missed the last two posts, but just did a search on eBay and this guy rivals Jim for having "the stuff". I'm going to cross post some OEM seat covers to the classifieds. I would have snapped them up, but I already recovered the buckets in my MJ ... the one I'm looking for is for the XJ. Tyler and Kerry ... thanks for the lead!

Purely my opinion ... short answer, keep looking. While the dealer truck appears to have good bones, it's "all the money" and you know it will need work. BTW MJ's are not known for "stop on a dime" braking ability. The private sale is someone's project. It didn't get the love because they woke up and realized it's a 2.8 V6. Even running "strong" as the seller stated, it won't get out of its own way.

Depends on the application and the tire. 88whitemanche's looks proper. I think street trucks look good with the letters out, but mudders are better in. Just my opinion.

I got rear-ended on February 10th on the way to work. The snow banks were 6' high at the time. It was snowing (hard) the night before. School openings were delayed, so there were kids gathered at bus stops that are usually empty. 5-6" of snow on the ground, a kid darts out in front of me from a side street on the right. Never looked and was talking to a group on the curb on the left. I pumped the binders to a stop while laying on the horn and came to a stop about 10' from the kid who'd frozen in place. WHAM! Some a$$ in an Infinity plows into me. Pushed me to within 2 feet of the kid who at this time was backpaddling fast. I'm sure I could smell sh*t. The bonehead who hit me let his insurance lapse.

Four! << golf warning to duck for what's coming, also reference to the number of times this truck has shown up here. The guy's delusional, on crack, a glue sniffer, out of his mind. There, I said it. Feel so much better now, thanks. http://comancheclub.com/topic/45462-20000-comanche/ http://comancheclub....20000-comanche/ http://comancheclub....fer-over-20000/ -
I asked what his price was ... never got a response. Not unlike MJ's, 2 door XJ's are becoming rare (in good condition and unmolested). I've seen hundreds that have been lifted, trailed and ruined. I know it's the right platform to do the former, but it's a shame to see'em go.

Oh mannnnnnn ... I slept through that one. I appreciate the post, but never saw it! Nuts! I'm still looking. If you should see or have one for sale, please PM me!
