  1. Lift is installed. Me like. Pictures are forthcoming. Stay tuned.
  2. Broken plastic T fitting. All I did was lift it and it snapped off cleanly. Thanks guys!
  3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Comanche-Reg-Cab-Pickup-/231722846886?forcerrptr=true&hash=item35f3c20aa6:g:oWUAAOSwwbdWINF-&item=231722846886
  4. Out for a drive this morning and went to use the washers and nothing happened. (I know, the suspense is killing you, right?) Anyway, when I got home I checked. Plenty of fluid, the pump works, no visible cracks or leaks in the tubing, but I look under the truck and there's a huge puddle of fluid. I followed the stream up, but I can't figure out where the leak is. Seems to be from behind the top of the firewall. I pulled the rubber grommet the washer line goes through all dry. Pulled the wipers and the plate under them and everything is dry under there. As near as I can tell the fluid is leaking out at the weld under the drivers side hood hinge and traveling along the weld to the top of the fender, then leaking to the ground. You can see the fluid center, right, in the picture below. Any ideas?
  5. I dreaded bringing the thing to a dealership, but they were actually cheaper than anyone I could find locally to reprogram for fog lamps. I also anticipated they might "up sell", or screw something else up with the reprogramming (friggin' computers ... it's like Adobe updates that do nothing but screw up your laptop). I bought the WK a short time ago. Yesterday, the service writer said their records show the recalls had been done, so I'm guessing one of the previous owners had them done. The vehicle is super clean (obviously loved), so I expect the PO must have been on top of things. The AutoCheck® lists a collision in 2008 and you can tell the RF fender is not factory finish paint. Not bad, just not factory finish.
  6. Oh yeah ... I picked up some Tire Pressure Sensors cheap on eBay. $50 for 4. http://www.ebay.com/itm/231486738842?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  7. Fog lights! All recalls done. That's the good news. Had the computer reprogrammed this morning and the lamps work. I had the day off and was running errands after the visit to the dealership. I noticed that the ambient temperature was not changing in spite of the steady rise in temperature. The compass was working. I figured I'd run back to the dealership and while on the way, the info center began to display "active programming" and a flashing red dot appeared in the instrument cluster. Have I mentioned I hate computers? They told me there were no codes, but the display is different than the temp the computer is indicating. They disconnected the battery and let it sit. It's still not accurate. Explanation. ? Cluster? Temp sensor? Wiring between the two? They couldn't tell me. RrrrrRRrrrr. I want my _simple_ XJ back (not really ... just hate computer problems).
  8. More still! These are fronts ... BIN $49.95 or BO ... free shipping. The original set posted here sold for $43 and change + shipping. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221908071699?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  9. Some interesting rides here ... http://autos.answers.com/cars/10-vehicles-that-went-from-virtual-to-real?paramt=31&param4=fb-us-de-entertainment-tat-hl&param1=wheels&param2=53974581&param5=10152053167636186&param6=6033914354750#slide=20 Master Chief Warthog ... looks like it can get it done.
  10. Second verse, same as the first. http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/331681975597?vxp=mtr
  11. I'm in. Thanks Pete (and the mods!)
  12. Do I need to have Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors? I have two sets of wheels that I plan to use.
  13. As I wrote, I've been lurking and reading. Most of the complaints I read about the Daystar lifts were related to off-road. Not an issue, as "mild and drivable" as previously suggested is the goal. A snow covered surface street, or groomed dirt road to a boat ramp is the worst terrain my WK will see. Read similar complaints about the RC lift and it's more expensive. (Remember now, I'm cheap) I don't know if the recalls have been done. Bought the vehicle used with 113K on it and AutoCheck® is all the history I have on it. It's straight, clean, starts, goes, stops, no visible leaks, frosty AC, hot heat and the windows work. Good to go.
  14. Pre 97 header panel. The fenders are rounded on top like 97+ Gone anyway.
  15. I bought the Daystar 2" on eBay for $133 (I understand that's a bargain). I've been lurking elsewhere and reading up. The Daystar and Rough Country kits have several endorsements. There are tons of pictures of WKs with the lifts and it's the look I'm after. Kind of have a stockpile of parts growing and my regular shop quoted a decent price to install the lift and do an alignment. I have a close friend that's their shop foreman, so they're pretty good to me. They know I'm cheap, but don't chastise me too much.
  16. Definitely a worthy choice! Nice truck!
  17. I made sure everything worked before I harvested the parts. Of course, I wanted to test the theory that the PCM thingie should be reprogrammed, so after I installed everything I pulled the trigger. Nuthin. :shake: Shopping around for someone that can do it cheaper, but I have an appointment scheduled with the dealership.
  18. $105 to reprogram the PCM ... yikes! My local shop has a "traveling programmer" that comes to the shop for that purpose, but he quoted $150.
  19. Lighting question ... step #13 in the link Pete posted reads; "Now schedule an appointment with a local dealership to have them program the PCM to activate the relay when the fog light switch is in the on position." Wuzza PCM and does this have to be done by a dealer? I followed up with the guy with '05 WK. I went there hoping to get the headlight assemblies and all the fog light components. He was parting it out and already had his money out of it. I offered $100 and he said, "I've got to go watch my kids, the wife's going to work". "Take whatever you want, just leave it in running condition so I can move it". SCORE!!! Got all the lighting stuff, woodgrain interior parts, 6 disc CD/MP3 factory head unit, the cargo area privacy cover and a bunch of other chrome do-dads. I only brought tools for the lighting, or I'd have grabbed a bunch more.
  20. Tell me everything bad about Daystar lifts? They seem popular for an economy lift. It looks like in order to get the tire/size I want (265/70/17), I'll have to do some sort of lift.
