Don't be too hard on the throttle when you have limited traction. A locked Dana 35 with 33s is a grenade waiting to happen.

Yes, rusted u bolts on exhaust do usually break. U bolts are cheap. U bolts are available at all parts stores. But after you get the U bolt off, you still have the dent in the pipe, pressing into the dent in the inside pipe, and they still will not want to come apart. Good luck!

Wade, why'd you get my Geo out of the J-Y and tow it to your place? And sorry for the hijack.

My buddy will be there with his fiancee. Since we are still out of power at work we decided to work on his ride. Just finished putting the 5.5" lift springs in (and taking the 2" blocks out). Got some brake parts to fix a line I broke, and waiting on a 95 Dakota brake hose to go to the axle (7.75" longer than Cherokee, same ends (including block on axle) which will be in tomorrow. Also got some 30" Rough Country shocks (was hoping to find 28", but 30" will work, just limits up travel to 8" instead of 9" and had new U bolts custom made for $7 a piece (total of about $32 including washers and nuts). Hopefully we can button it up tomorrow, and then wait on the rest of his parts and my lift to arrive. I will also be there, either solo or with my daughter. No definite word from her yet, as she doesn't know her schedule that far in advance.

Injector options for the 2.5 TBI?

If you're running too rich, it will also wash the oil off your cylinder walls and mix gasoline into the oil, causing increased wear. You could use the smaller one (47 pounds), and maybe gain a bit of economy. But if it makes your engine run too lean, that's not good either. -

spray your primer sand it with 320, get some wax and grease remover wipe it on Never seen 320. 330 maybe? That's what used. -
:agree: I cleaned mine using a wire brush and gasoline twice before I called it a day. Afterwards it looked almost as clean as yours inside.

My Suburban never smelled like rotten eggs when it didn't have a cat. My Comanche doesn't have a cat (but I'm not aware of that, it was missing when I bought it :D ) and it doesn't smell like rotten eggs. The smell comes from suphur in the gasoline and doesn't directly have anything to do with the catalytic converter. I can understand why he wouldn't let you take it off. Even if you do it yourself, if you do it in his shop he can be fined $10,000 for it. Grab the sawzall when your wife's not looking. And now that you have presumably fixed your temperature problems, and have had enough time to hire a new delivery person, you gonna go to Badlands Oxt 25?
-
How much to get you to email me a dozen or so cards? Or will you be at Badlands Oct 25?

If you have (access to) an air compressor, an sprayer does not have to be expensive. Harbor Freight carries a huge selection, starting at under $20. I have never bothered with clear coat, but instead used single stage premixed colors from NAPA. MSA Acrylic Enamel I believe it is called. I've had good results with it for not too much $$$. -
death wobble...i hate coil springs..

In this case, previous owner neglect. -
Whaddayaknow, it does. Still, in Canada it can't be bought at the beer store. You can only get it at the liquor store because it is (according to the Canadian label) vodka based. I also just now noticed it's only 5% alcohol. It used to be 6.5%.

Nowadays, half ton, 3/4 ton and 1 ton doesn't mean squat any more. I mean a 2008 Silverado 1500 (1/2 ton) regular cab short box has a payload capacity of 1947 pounds. That's 53 pounds shy of a ton (and 253 short of a tonne). 3/4 ton 2500HD with same specs (regular cab, short bed, 2wd) has a payload of 3892 pounds, which is almost 2 ton. And a regular cab long box (short not available) dually 4x4 1 ton truck (3500HD) has a payload of 5307 pounds. Don't ask me why the 2wd version is not available with duals, as I don't know. But that's a payload of about 2 2/3 ton. My 79 F100 was technically still a half ton. It had a payload capacity of exactly 1000 pounds, but the F150 which is also considered a 1/2 ton could handle a lot more.

Now that's one I've never heard or seen before. A chainsaw as a rock instrument :chillin:

death wobble...i hate coil springs..

I fixed mine by replacing a bad front axle U-joint, new bushings in the LCAs and a new track bar and bracket. It seems a track bar which can move only slightly can allow death wobble to occur, but one that's got 1/2" of slop (like my buddy's Cherokee) will just let it slowly wander all over the road. And yes, he's getting a new adjustable one from Motion. Actually expected it yesterday when UPS dropped off his leaf springs. -
Sunday afternoon, remnants of Ike came by. Indiana got the rain, we got the wind. It started about 2 pm, didn't calm down 'till 10 pm, with gusts of 80 mph reported. In short, my street alone ( 3 blocks) has 3 trees down, with about 40 or 50 around the rest of town. This is a town with a population of only about 2000. After the power went out (6:30pm) we were sitting on a neighbor's porch drinking Mike's Hard Lemonade. No fruity beers for me. No thanks. I'll stick to my Vodka based drinks. Anyway, watching the trees swaying and creaking we heard a loud crack and watched a tree go down. That's when I got the idea of moving the Suburban around to the front of the house and park it on the street under a tree. After finding a neighbor who hadn't been drinking yet to move it for me, we went back to the show. We set up a generator and flood lights to get a better view after dark, and sure enough, about 9pm half of my tree came down. I start cheering.... until someone moves from blocking my view. And the Suburban is still there  But so is my house :D The sucker came down right in between, missing the Suburban by a foot and the corner of the porch roof by inches. It did rip the electric service drop and telephone lines off my house, which are now draped across the alley with the tree on top. Power was restored about 2pm, and my telephone never quit working, but now I have a live wire in my yard and across the pavement with a tree on top. All the crews were sent to TX, so it's been very slow progress around here. I work just outside of town about 3 miles from here and received word about an hour ago power is still out over there. And my cable (and internet)? The wires are intact as they run the other way, but service on them didn't come back 'till earlier this morning. Sorry for the grainy pictures. I took them early yesterday after day break and it wasn't quite completely light out.

Yeah, it's a Linux distribution. Can't really help you (much), since I'm running Fedora Core.

If you want to see a fast Acura, look at a 97 or newer NSX with the 6 speed stick. For a fast Comanche, watch this: http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=KiSuDLy59mc

The $2000 one claims to be an MT, but with only a 3" lift up front and spring over in the rear, the MT springs must be sagging about 10 feet or so.
-
Watching Powerblock, and Ryan from Trucks just volunteered his first vehicle was a 2wd 4cyl 5 speed Comanche!

As posted elsewhere, the PIA got hit in the ds rear quarter, here are the pics: The final outcome is that I ordered a slightly modified 3" lift kit from Motion Offroad, pretty much paid for by the insurance. Will probably have to get some odds and ends to go along with it. like brake lines and shocks, but I should have it ready for the Oct. 25 trip to Badlands. More pics after parts come in. While I didn't know the outcome, everything had pretty much come to a halt, but now that I'm keeping her, I continued on the fuel sender unit. Cacked the heck out of both inside and outside with seal-all, then primed and painted the outside, only to have the ground wire break off :headpop: Now I have to get all the crap off the wire tab and solder it back on. Also on the roster for today or this week (besides sender unit): replace transfer case output shaft seal fix transmission cooler line leak transmission fluid change oil change top off transfer case and axles and possibly look into my power steering leak. And I might attempt to get the rear quarter a little closer to where it is supposed to be.
